Choose the 2026 Lexus NX in two stages: first select the powertrain (gas, conventional hybrid, or plug-in hybrid), then select the grade whose equipment and driving character fit your priorities. The NX 350 is the performance-oriented gas option, the NX 350h is the fuel-economy choice without charging, and the NX 450h+ is the plug-in for drivers who can charge regularly. Lexus’s U.S. MSRP table, updated May 1, 2026, includes a $1,395 delivery, processing and handling (DPH) fee. These are manufacturer figures, not negotiated transaction prices. Taxes, registration, dealer-installed items, options and local offers are separate.

The published table does not list a Standard-grade NX 450h+. It also shows the NX 350 AWD F SPORT Handling at $52,195, slightly below the listed Luxury price, so grade pricing is not a simple step-by-step ladder. Confirm the current price and model code before signing because Lexus pricing and inventory can change.
Pick the powertrain first
NX 350: the conventional gas choice
The NX 350 uses a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and all-wheel drive. Lexus lists 275 horsepower, 317 lb-ft of torque, 24 combined EPA-estimated mpg and a 6.6-second estimated 0–60-mph time. Among the three configurations, it has the highest listed horsepower and quickest listed acceleration except for the plug-in 450h+, while carrying the lowest published combined fuel-economy estimate.
Choose it when you want a familiar gasoline powertrain, strong stated torque and the quickest non-plug-in acceleration. It is also the straightforward option for households that do not want to plan around charging or hybrid operation. The trade-off is fuel consumption: the 24-mpg estimate is materially below the conventional hybrid figures.

The NX 350h combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with a hybrid system for 240 combined system horsepower. Front-wheel drive is available only with this powertrain. Lexus gives the FWD version a 40 combined EPA-estimated mpg rating and an 8.2-second estimated 0–60-mph time.
This is the logical fit if efficiency is the priority, you do not have reliable charging access, and front-wheel drive meets your traction needs. The 40-mpg figure is the highest combined estimate in the NX range, but it is an estimate rather than a guarantee for every route or season.
NX 350h AWD: hybrid efficiency with added traction
The AWD NX 350h retains the 240-horsepower combined hybrid system and adds a second independent electric motor to drive the rear wheels when traction is needed, according to Lexus. Its published figures are 39 combined EPA-estimated mpg and a 7.2-second estimated 0–60-mph time.

It costs more than the equivalent FWD grade and gives up one estimated mpg, but the AWD configuration is quicker on Lexus’s numbers and is the choice for buyers who regularly face snow, steep or loose surfaces, or simply prefer all-wheel drive. Those estimates do not predict performance in every condition; tire choice and road conditions still matter.

The NX 450h+ is an all-wheel-drive plug-in hybrid. Lexus lists 37 miles of EPA-estimated electric range, 84 combined MPGe and a 6.0-second estimated 0–60-mph time. Lexus’s consumer model-page result lists 304 net combined horsepower; because that page could not be independently opened, verify the figure on the vehicle’s current specification sheet.
The 450h+ makes the most sense when you can charge at home or work and many regular trips fit within the published electric-range estimate. It can still operate as a hybrid when the battery is depleted, but the value of paying its higher starting price depends on how consistently you use the plug-in capability. Range changes with temperature, speed, heating or air conditioning, terrain and accessory use.

The figures are not directly interchangeable: mpg measures gasoline consumption, while MPGe incorporates electricity, and the 450h+ range estimate applies to electric driving under EPA test conditions. None is a promise of actual owner results.
How to choose among the four grades
Standard: establish the baseline
Standard is the entry grade for the NX 350 and both NX 350h drivetrains. Lexus describes a standard 9.8-inch touchscreen, with a 14-inch display available. Start here if the base equipment meets your needs and you would rather spend on the powertrain than on appearance or luxury upgrades.

Do not assume every vehicle carrying the Standard badge has identical technology: display size and other options can depend on the configuration. Read the window sticker or build sheet rather than relying on a trim name.

Premium: the middle ground, including the 450h+
Premium is offered across the gas and conventional-hybrid range and is newly available on the 2026 NX 450h+. It is the grade to investigate when Standard lacks a desired convenience feature but Luxury or F SPORT Handling would add equipment you would not use.
Lexus says every 450h+ includes dual-voltage charging cables that support both Level 1 and Level 2 charging. That lets owners use a standard household outlet or compatible 240-volt equipment, subject to the installation and electrical requirements of the home. Confirm exactly what cable and vehicle equipment are included on the specific car.
Luxury: prioritize interior finish and convenience
Luxury grades add higher-end interior treatment; Lexus identifies leather trim on Luxury models. Additional convenience equipment may be available, but the exact content varies by powertrain and build. Compare the actual seat material, display, parking technology, audio system, roof and other options on each candidate vehicle before paying the premium.

It is less compelling if you mainly want the most efficient or quickest powertrain and are indifferent to materials and technology.
F SPORT Handling: chassis and appearance, not extra engine output
F SPORT Handling is available with all three powertrain configurations in the 2026 lineup announcement. Lexus describes an Adaptive Variable Suspension, front and rear performance dampers, bolstered sport seats, a sport steering wheel, distinctive exterior and interior details, and 20-inch black alloy wheels.
Select it for the sport-oriented suspension tuning, seating support and design. It does not turn the NX 350h into a different powertrain or add a separate engine family. A buyer choosing between F SPORT Handling and Luxury should drive both: the decision is about ride and seat character as much as appearance and equipment. The available F SPORT price can also overlap another grade, as the NX 350 AWD table demonstrates.

These are driver-assistance functions with operating limits, not autonomous driving. Keep your attention on traffic, follow the owner’s manual instructions and do not treat the systems as a guarantee against a collision.
Display, navigation and connected services
A 14-inch touchscreen is available in place of the standard 9.8-inch unit. Cloud navigation and Intelligent Assistant require an active Drive Connect trial or subscription. Digital Key and remote functions require an active Remote Connect trial or subscription. Lexus also offers a Mark Levinson 17-speaker audio system, Advanced Park and a Head-Up Display on applicable configurations.
Connected features depend on the vehicle’s equipment, the service terms and 4G network availability. Trial length, renewal pricing and regional availability can change, so ask the dealer to document which services are active at delivery and what they cost afterward.
Charging the NX 450h+
Lexus estimates approximately three hours for a full charge with 240-volt power, the standard 7-kW onboard charger, maximum 240-volt current and ideal conditions. The estimate is not a universal household-outlet time and does not account for installation, temperature or charging losses.
- Confirm where you will charge. Identify a suitable home or workplace outlet before selecting the plug-in model.
- Check the electrical setup. Level 2 charging normally requires an appropriate 240-volt circuit; have a qualified electrician evaluate the location.
- Use the included cable appropriately. Lexus states that PHEV models include dual-voltage cables for Level 1 and Level 2 charging.
- Match range to routine trips. Compare your normal daily distance with the 37-mile EPA-estimated electric range, leaving margin for weather and driving conditions.
- Verify service terms. Ask which connected charging or remote functions, if any, require a trial or subscription on the exact vehicle.
A practical decision process
1. Decide whether plugging in is realistic
If home or workplace charging is not dependable, compare the NX 350 with the NX 350h instead of paying for plug-in capability you may rarely use. If charging is convenient, calculate how often your routine trips fit within the estimated electric range and whether the 450h+ price premium is acceptable.

2. Choose the drivetrain
The NX 350 and NX 450h+ are AWD in Lexus’s 2026 lineup announcement. The NX 350h is the only model with a FWD choice. Select FWD for the highest published hybrid mpg if it suits your climate and roads; select AWD when traction or the quicker AWD estimate matters more.
3. Rank the equipment you will actually use
Write down must-haves such as a larger display, leather trim, parking assistance, premium audio, a head-up display or sport seats. Then compare those items on vehicle-specific build sheets. Availability can vary by grade, drivetrain and installed options.
4. Compare delivered quotes
Start with the MSRP figures above, which already include the stated $1,395 DPH fee as of May 1, 2026. Then separate the model price from options, dealer-installed accessories, taxes, registration, financing and any current offer. Obtain the model number and itemized quote in writing.
5. Drive the configurations you are actually considering
A test drive is the best way to assess acceleration response, hybrid operation, ride firmness, seat comfort, steering feel, visibility and the infotainment layout. No independent ride, noise, cargo, usability or real-world efficiency testing is established by the published figures here.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
- Choosing by grade before powertrain: A Luxury NX 350h and a Standard NX 350 solve different problems. Decide gas, hybrid or plug-in first.
- Assuming AWD is always the efficient choice: The published 350h estimates are 40 mpg for FWD and 39 mpg for AWD; your conditions may produce different results.
- Treating MPGe as mpg: The 450h+ 84 MPGe figure includes electricity and cannot be compared one-for-one with gasoline mpg.
- Assuming every technology feature is included: Display size, navigation, audio, Advanced Park and the head-up display depend on configuration; connected functions may require subscriptions.
- Reading MSRP as a transaction price: The table is manufacturer MSRP with DPH, not a dealer quote or guarantee of availability.
- Expecting F SPORT Handling to add a new engine: It changes suspension, dampers, seats, steering-wheel treatment and styling; the underlying powertrain remains the selected 350, 350h or 450h+.
- Buying a plug-in without a charging plan: The 450h+ is most compelling when charging is practical. Confirm outlet access and electrical capacity before purchase.
Which 2026 Lexus NX should you choose?
Choose the NX 350 AWD if the stated 275-hp output, 317 lb-ft of torque and 6.6-second estimate matter more than fuel economy and you want a conventional gas vehicle. Choose the NX 350h FWD for the highest published combined mpg without plugging in. Choose the NX 350h AWD when you want hybrid efficiency with all-wheel drive and the quicker AWD estimate. Choose the NX 450h+ when you can charge routinely and its electric range, 84 MPGe estimate and quickest listed acceleration fit your use.
After that decision, use the grade to buy equipment and driving character rather than prestige alone: Standard for a lower entry price, Premium for a middle configuration, Luxury for interior finish and convenience, and F SPORT Handling for its sport-oriented chassis and styling. Confirm every feature, subscription term and price on the specific vehicle’s build sheet and delivered quote.
