The 2026 Lexus LS 500 AWD Heritage Edition is the only LS 500 configuration Lexus announced for the 2026 U.S. model year, with production limited to 250 cars. Lexus calls it a final-year tribute to the sedan, whose U.S. debut launched the Lexus brand in 1989. That makes this the announced end of the LS sedan in the U.S. for 2026—not proof that LS production is ending worldwide.
Is the 2026 Lexus LS the last LS?
For the U.S. market, Lexus announced the Heritage Edition as the LS 500’s only 2026 offering and described the year as a final tribute to the model. The announcement does not establish a global production end date. Lexus Canada separately announced a 2026 Heritage Edition, while the cited releases do not settle what will happen in every other market.
The 36-year span refers to the LS’s U.S. launch in 1989, the year Lexus says the LS launched its brand in the United States. Lexus characterized the car’s legacy as defining the flagship luxury sedan; that is the automaker’s description, not an independent assessment. How limited is the Heritage Edition, and what does it cost?
Allocation and pricing differ by market. The U.S. figure is a production limit; Canada’s figure is a separate allocation. Their prices also use different currencies and fee bases, so they are not directly comparable.

Lexus USA said U.S. units were expected at dealerships in fall 2025. Lexus Canada said the edition was on sale through its dealers when announced. What is different about the Heritage Edition?
The U.S. car is a single, specified configuration rather than one choice among several 2026 LS trims. Its Heritage Edition details combine dark exterior finishes with a red cabin and distinctive interior materials:

The U.S. Heritage Edition uses a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 rated at 416 horsepower and 442 lb.-ft. of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive uses a Torsen limited-slip center differential. Lexus quotes a 0–60 mph time of 4.6 seconds for the U.S. model. Its Canadian release quotes 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds; that is a separate market-specific figure and unit of measurement.

The available statements do not confirm that the model is ending in every country, and launch announcements do not establish current dealer stock.
