The 2026 U.S.-market Kia EV9 has a three-row cabin configured for six or seven passengers, depending on trim and second-row seating. Kia lists a three-part 29.6-inch panoramic display, available heated and ventilated seats, and cargo capacity of 20.2 to 81.7 cubic feet depending on which rows are in use. Equipment varies by configuration.
How many people can the Kia EV9 seat?
Kia offers the 2026 EV9 with either a second-row bench for seven-passenger seating or captain’s chairs for six. The U.S. model page lists the bench layout on Light RWD and Light Long Range RWD; other trims may use captain’s chairs. Confirm the seating layout on the exact trim and package, rather than assuming every EV9 has the same arrangement. Kia’s 2026 EV9 model page also lists 160.3 cubic feet of passenger room and 42.8 inches of second-row legroom; these are manufacturer specifications, not independent comfort measurements.
Second-row seats and third-row access
The bench seats an additional passenger in the second row, while captain’s chairs provide two separate seats. Kia describes a tilting walk-in entry to help passengers reach the third row. It lists two USB-C ports and cupholders in the third row, plus high-speed USB charging ports for all three rows. Kia’s published specifications do not establish how comfortable the third row is for adults, so seating suitability will depend on the passenger and should be checked in person.

What displays and technology are inside?
The EV9’s listed 29.6-inch panoramic display is made up of three separate screens: a 12.3-inch instrument display, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a 5-inch climate display. Kia lists wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also cautions drivers not to use vehicle systems in ways that divert attention from safe driving.

Available driver and connected features
Depending on trim, Kia lists a 12-inch Head-Up Display and a Full Display Digital Rearview Mirror. Kia Connect includes remote climate control, but digital features and services can cost extra, vary by model year and trim, and may require a subscription. Check the terms for the specific vehicle.
The 2026 Kia EV9 Vehicle Feature Tips guide says driver-position memory can store the driver’s seat and outside mirror positions, instrument-panel brightness, and Head-Up Display settings. Which comfort and finish features depend on trim?
Kia’s 2026 U.S. model page describes SynTex seating surfaces and trim-specific seat patterns. Available equipment includes first- and second-row lounge seats with heating and ventilation, a SynTex Suede headliner, and dual-color ambient lighting for the footwell and door trim. These are not universal features across all EV9 configurations.
Kia also lists an available 14-speaker Meridian Premium Audio system with a subwoofer and external amplifier. Its model page says available sound-insulating glass and other technologies can reduce intrusive highway-speed noise to 58.2 decibels. That is Kia’s claim; the page does not state a test protocol for the figure.
What to check when choosing an EV9 interior
- Confirm whether the specific trim has a second-row bench or captain’s chairs, and whether it seats seven or six.
- Check which seat heating and ventilation features, lounge seats, audio system, lighting, and headliner are included or optional on that configuration.
- Match cargo volume to the number of rows you expect to keep available: Kia publishes separate figures for all three seating conditions.
- Verify connected-service availability, subscription requirements, and any additional charges for the vehicle you are considering.
Kia notes that vehicle availability, materials, specifications, and features may change. The figures and equipment described here refer to the U.S.-market 2026 EV9 as listed on Kia’s model page; they are not an independent cabin test.
