The 2026 Kawasaki Z1100 is the flagship naturally aspirated model in Kawasaki’s Z supernaked range. It pairs a 1,099 cc inline-four with cornering-focused rider aids, cruise control and a 5-inch connected TFT. The Z1100 SE adds Brembo front brakes and an Öhlins rear shock; price and availability depend on the market.
What is the 2026 Kawasaki Z1100?
Kawasaki describes the Z1100 as the top naturally aspirated motorcycle in its Z supernaked family. Its styling follows the brand’s Sugomi theme, with aggressive LED lighting, a compact front end and a single-side exhaust. The chassis uses a rigid aluminum twin-tube frame, a Showa SFF-BP front fork and horizontal back-link rear suspension.

The model is a naked sport motorcycle rather than a fully faired sportbike. Kawasaki’s longer fifth and sixth gear ratios are intended to make highway riding more relaxed, while the upright, exposed format keeps the Z1100 distinct from the brand’s faired machines.

The Z1100 uses a 1,099 cm³ liquid-cooled inline-four with electronic throttle valves. Kawasaki’s U.S. specification quotes 134.0 hp at 9,000 rpm and 83.3 lb-ft of torque at 7,600 rpm. Kawasaki’s European launch announcement gives output as 100.0 kW (136 PS) and torque as 11.5 kgf·m; those are regional manufacturer figures, not a separate engine version or an independent test result. Kawasaki UK’s launch announcement also describes revised intake ports and changes to the camshafts, valve springs and pistons.

A six-speed transmission sends power to the rear wheel. Kawasaki says the fifth and sixth gears are longer than before, a change aimed at highway use. A dual-direction quick shifter enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts.
Electronics and the 5-inch display
Both Z1100 versions share an IMU-linked electronics package. It includes Kawasaki Cornering Management Function (KCMF), traction control (KTRC), integrated braking (KIBS), selectable power modes and integrated Sport, Road, Rain and Rider modes. Electronic cruise control is operated from the left handlebar.

Z1100 vs. Z1100 SE: what changes?
The principal difference is suspension and brake hardware. The standard Z1100 uses conventional braking and suspension components, while the SE upgrades the front brakes to Brembo monobloc calipers with braided lines and fits an Öhlins S46 rear shock. The two versions broadly share the same engine and electronic feature set.

| Feature | Z1100 | Z1100 SE |
|---|---|---|
| Front brakes | Standard equipment; specific caliper brand not stated in the cited launch announcement | Brembo monobloc calipers and braided lines |
| Rear shock | Horizontal back-link suspension; shock brand not stated in the cited launch announcement | Öhlins S46 |
| Core electronics | IMU-linked rider aids, cruise control, quick shifter and connected TFT | Broadly shared with Z1100 |
| UK announced price | £11,099 | £12,699 |
| U.S. announced price | Not stated in the cited U.S. release | $14,999 base MSRP, plus $840 destination charge |
The SE is the more relevant choice for riders who specifically want its higher-spec brake and rear-shock hardware. Whether that equipment justifies the price difference depends on local pricing and how much value you place on those components; the shared electronic features are not an SE-only reason to upgrade.
Dimensions and U.S.-spec practical figures
Kawasaki’s U.S. specification sheet lists the following figures for the Z1100 SE ABS. These numbers are specific to that U.S.-market version and should not be treated as universal specifications for every region or trim.

The same U.S. sheet describes a five-piece cast-aluminum/twin-tube frame. The 32.1-inch seat height and 487.3-pound curb weight provide useful initial checks for rider fit and maneuvering, but a showroom sit and low-speed test are better ways to assess how the bike feels to you.

Kawasaki lists genuine accessories including front axle sliders, frame sliders, engine-cover rings, heated grips, scratch-resistant film, wheel-rim tape, tank and knee pads, a smoked meter cover and a pillion-seat cover. Before ordering, verify the accessory’s model-year and market fitment with the local Kawasaki dealer; availability and compatibility should not be assumed to be identical worldwide. Kawasaki’s U.S. release includes its accessory list.
What the published specifications do—and do not—tell you
The manufacturer information establishes the engine outputs, equipment, dimensions for the listed U.S. SE ABS and announced regional prices and timing. It does not establish independent acceleration, fuel-economy or reliability results, or how the motorcycle feels on the road. Those questions require testing or owner experience rather than inference from the specification sheet.
