The 2026 Jeep Recon is an all-electric, Trail Rated SUV with standard electric four-wheel drive and removable doors and glass. It is not an electric Wrangler variant: Jeep presents it as a distinct model with similar open-air, off-road appeal. Jeep announced up to 650 hp and an estimated range of up to 250 miles, depending on trim, but current production and customer availability remain unconfirmed in the official sources cited here.
What is the 2026 Jeep Recon?
Jeep describes the Recon as a battery-electric SUV built around off-road driving and open-air use. Its Wrangler comparison is about the kind of appeal—trail capability and removable body panels—not its model identity. The Recon has standard all-electric four-wheel drive and Jeep’s Selec-Terrain system with five drive modes. Jeep calls it Trail Rated; that is the manufacturer’s positioning, not an independent comparison of its off-road performance. Jeep’s U.S. Recon page and its November 19, 2025 announcement describe the vehicle.
Jeep Recon range, power and battery
Jeep’s November 2025 announcement gives the Recon 650 hp and 620 lb.-ft. (840 Nm) of torque. Jeep estimates up to 250 miles of range, depending on trim, and says it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 3.6 seconds. These are manufacturer-announced figures, not independent test results; the range is an estimate, not a confirmed EPA rating in the cited material.
Jeep’s 2026 specification document lists a 400-volt, 100.5-kWh lithium-ion battery. That capacity does not by itself establish how far the Recon will travel in real-world conditions; range depends on factors including configuration, driving and environment. Jeep’s 2026 Recon specification document provides the battery figures.

Can you remove the Recon’s doors and glass?
Yes. Jeep says the Recon has removable doors, rear quarter glass and swing-gate glass, and that these components can be removed without tools. This open-air setup is one of the clearest ways Jeep connects the Recon’s design to the experience associated with the Wrangler, while keeping it a separate electric SUV.
How home charging is described
Jeep says the Recon includes a dual-level charging cord that can plug into a household outlet. For home Level 2 charging, Jeep describes installing a NEMA 14-50 outlet or using a 48-amp residential charger, with charging speeds up to 11.5 kW. Actual charging time is not specified in the cited material.

Before choosing equipment, check your home’s electrical capacity, local code, the vehicle’s connector details and an electrician or qualified installer’s guidance. Jeep’s page points customers to Qmerit for an installation estimate; that mention does not establish a separate referral or affiliate arrangement. Jeep’s consumer page contains its charging and installation information.
Price and availability: what is confirmed?
Jeep’s U.S. consumer page displays a starting MSRP of $65,000 and cautions that preproduction models are shown and actual production features may vary. The displayed figure is not proof of a current transaction price, a specific trim’s final price or customer availability.

In its November 19, 2025 announcement, Jeep planned to begin production in early 2026 at the Toluca Assembly Plant, with initial launches in the United States and Canada and global expansion later. That was a plan announced at the time. The cited official sources do not confirm whether production began as planned or whether orders and customer deliveries are available as of October 7, 2026. Avoid treating the early-2026 target or the displayed MSRP as confirmation that the Recon is on sale. Jeep’s U.S. Recon page shows the price and preproduction caveat; the announcement records the production plan.

Jeep brand CEO Bob Broderdorf described the Recon as “a bold step forward for the brand, an all-electric SUV that stays true to our core values of freedom, adventure and capability.” That statement reflects Jeep’s intended positioning. The cited material supplies no independent trail test, comparative performance data, final EPA range or apples-to-apples comparison with a Wrangler or another off-road EV. Those comparisons should wait for comparable specifications and testing.
