Yes—the redesigned 2026 Hyundai Palisade has reached the U.S. market, and published road testing is available. Buyers can choose a 287-hp 3.5-liter V6 or a new 329-hp 2.5-liter turbo hybrid, with fuel economy, drivetrain, towing, and price varying by configuration.
Is the 2026 Hyundai Palisade out yet?
Yes. Hyundai identifies the 2026 Palisade as an all-new, three-row SUV. It made its North American debut at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, and Hyundai’s U.S. site now lists model details and pricing. The displayed estimated starting MSRP is $39,435, excluding freight, tax, title, and license; dealer prices and vehicle availability may vary. Hyundai’s 2026 Palisade page provides current U.S. specifications and shopping paths.
The redesign also brings a choice the previous lineup did not offer in this form: a gas V6 or a turbocharged hybrid. The right comparison is not simply “more power versus less power”; fuel-economy estimates, drivetrain, towing needs, trim equipment, and the actual price of the vehicle all matter.
What’s new on the 2026 Palisade?
A new hybrid joins the V6
The gas Palisade uses a manufacturer-listed 287-hp 3.5-liter V6. Hyundai lists front-wheel drive (FWD) and available HTRAC all-wheel drive (AWD). The hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric powertrain for a manufacturer-listed 329 hp. Hyundai’s 2026 Palisade Hybrid page lists both FWD and AWD configurations.

The XRT PRO is a distinct trim announcement
Hyundai’s XRT PRO announcement describes the trim and its powertrain. Equipment can vary by market and vehicle configuration, so confirm the U.S. vehicle’s specification rather than assuming a trim announcement alone establishes every feature on a particular car.

How do the gas and hybrid versions compare?
Hyundai’s figures below are manufacturer specifications and EPA estimates, not independent test results. Mileage depends on configuration and use; compare the exact version you are considering.

| Gas V6 | 287 hp | FWD: 19 city / 25 highway / 21 combined mpg | FWD and available HTRAC AWD |

How does the 2026 Palisade drive on the road?
Tom’s Guide published a week-long review on February 24, 2026. The reviewer reports driving 115.5 miles and averaging 16.7 mpg in the tested Palisade. That is the reviewer’s observed result for that vehicle and week—not a standardized full-vehicle fuel-economy result and not a prediction for every Palisade. The review does not make this figure directly comparable to Hyundai’s EPA estimates without accounting for configuration and test conditions.
Route, traffic, weather, driving style, and vehicle configuration can all affect fuel economy. Read the measured figure as one real-world observation alongside the EPA estimates, not as a replacement for them. Tom’s Guide’s review gives its account of the week with the vehicle.

Should you get the Palisade hybrid or gas model?
Choose which trade-offs matter before comparing trims
- Fuel use: The hybrid’s listed EPA estimates are higher than the gas model’s, especially for the listed FWD versions. Consider your driving mix and annual mileage; an EPA estimate is a comparison tool, not a guaranteed saving.
- Purchase cost: Hyundai’s displayed $39,435 starting MSRP applies to the Palisade page and excludes freight, tax, title, and license. Hybrid pricing and the final dealer quote should be checked for the precise trim and drivetrain you are shopping.
- Drivetrain: Both powertrain paths include FWD and AWD choices in Hyundai’s listed range. Choose based on your roads and conditions, and compare like-for-like configurations where possible.
- Towing: Hyundai lists up to 5,000 lb for the gas Palisade when properly equipped with trailer brakes. Verify the specific vehicle’s configuration and towing limit before selecting a trailer; do not assume the gas figure applies to the hybrid.
- Equipment: Compare trim-level inclusions and the window sticker for the vehicle in stock, particularly if a driver-assistance or parking feature is important to you.
Check the exact vehicle, not just the model name
Before deciding, compare the out-the-door price, EPA estimate for the exact drivetrain, included equipment, and towing limit for the specific configuration. Hyundai says displayed prices exclude charges and dealer pricing may vary, so the starting MSRP alone is not a complete purchase-cost comparison.
What to know before shopping
- Choose whether your priority is the V6 or the hybrid’s higher listed EPA estimates, then narrow the choice to FWD or AWD.
- Compare trims and confirm listed features on the vehicle’s window sticker rather than inferring equipment from the model name.
- Ask the dealer for the vehicle-specific price, including freight and local charges, and verify current availability.
- If towing, confirm the exact vehicle’s rated capacity and required equipment. Hyundai’s 5,000-lb figure is for a properly equipped gas Palisade with trailer brakes.
Hyundai announced the model’s North American debut on April 16, 2025, in its debut announcement. Current U.S. specifications and availability are best checked on Hyundai’s model pages, since dealer inventory and pricing can change.
