Those details are the publisher’s observations of an early prototype—not Honda specifications—and the video itself was not available for frame-by-frame verification. Honda later confirmed the production Prelude’s hybrid powertrain and key specifications.
Which 2026 Honda Prelude spy video is this?
The title most closely matches autoevolution’s spy-shots video published October 19, 2024. The publisher’s description says its photographers captured a camouflaged Prelude in Germany. Because the video page could not be directly inspected, details here are limited to that description; they should not be treated as independently verified visual observations.
The clip’s title says the Prelude gets the Civic’s hybrid powertrain. Honda later confirmed that the production model uses its two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain, but that later confirmation does not verify every detail suggested by the 2024 footage.
What the publisher says the prototype footage shows
Autoevolution’s description characterizes the prototype as having camouflage, larger mirrors, a front-facing camera, a revised lower grille and pop-out door handles. These are publisher descriptions of an obscured test car, not official Honda claims. Camouflage and prototype status also mean the footage alone cannot establish that every described detail appears on the production car.

What Honda confirmed about the production Prelude
In its January 27, 2026 press kit, Honda described the sixth-generation Prelude as a hybrid-electric sports coupe. Honda says it pairs its two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain with high-performance chassis hardware from the Civic Type R. The company called it its first hybrid-electric model to combine those elements. That is Honda’s description of the hardware relationship; it does not establish performance equivalent to a Civic Type R.
Powertrain and fuel economy
Honda lists a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine and a two-motor hybrid system, with 200 total system horsepower. Its published U.S. EPA fuel-economy ratings are 46 mpg city, 41 highway and 44 combined. These are manufacturer-published figures, not independent test results.

Chassis and driving features
Honda’s specification materials list adaptive dampers, dual-axis front suspension, Brembo four-piston front brake calipers, four drive modes—Comfort, GT, Sport and Individual—and Honda S+ Shift. These specifications describe the production car; they should not be read back into the 2024 spy footage as visible or confirmed features.
U.S. pricing and trim distinction
Honda’s U.S. model page, accessed October 7, 2026, lists the 2026 Prelude Hybrid at $42,000 starting MSRP and Hybrid Two-Tone at $42,500. Honda says prices may vary; the displayed MSRP excludes destination and other charges, and taxes, registration and some color charges are additional. Check Honda’s current page before purchase because pricing can change.

Confirm exact 2026 fitment and current availability with Honda or a seller before ordering; no specific marketplace listing or stock status is established here.
