The 2026 GMC Sierra EV AT4 and Denali with the available Max Range battery are listed for up to 478 miles of GM-estimated range. That is not an EPA rating. GMC’s current figures also show that the range depends on trim and battery, and that the Max Range configurations have a lower maximum trailering figure than some Extended Range versions.
What the 478-mile figure means
GMC’s May 28, 2025 update to its March 27, 2025 announcement lists up to 478 miles for the 2026 Sierra EV AT4 and Denali with the Max Range battery. GMC identifies that figure as GM-estimated. It should not be described as EPA-estimated or as a guaranteed distance in everyday driving. GMC’s announcement and the 2026 Sierra EV product page give the estimate and its configuration context.
The distinction matters because GMC labels some other Sierra EV range figures EPA-estimated, while the 478-mile Max Range figure is GM-estimated. The available figures are not all based on the same estimate type.

These are GMC’s published 2026 figures; the detailed trim-and-battery breakdown is on the product page and the official Build & Price specifications. In particular, the AT4 Extended Range is listed at up to 390 miles GM-estimated, not the 478-mile Max Range figure.

Range versus towing capability
Maximum range is only one way to compare configurations. GMC’s build specifications list maximum trailering of up to 10,200 pounds for AT4 and Denali Max Range configurations. For comparison, Elevation Extended Range and Denali Extended Range are listed for up to 12,500 pounds, while AT4 Extended Range is listed for up to 12,300 pounds. Why actual driving range can differ
The 478-mile figure is a published estimate, not a real-world test result or a fixed distance for every trip. GMC’s 2026 owner manual identifies several factors that can affect range estimates:

The available GMC announcement and current product page establish the 2026 range figures, but they do not provide a like-for-like comparison with the preceding model year using the same trim, battery, and estimate method. The 478-mile figure supports describing the 2026 AT4 and Denali Max Range configurations; it does not, by itself, establish the size of a year-over-year increase.
