Those figures are not a dealer quote, and they differ from the $28,145 starting MSRP in Ford’s earlier model-year announcement. Ford’s published information does not explain the $1,000 gap, so shoppers should confirm the price and equipment on a current build quote.
2026 Ford Maverick starting prices by trim
The following are starting prices displayed on Ford’s U.S. build-and-price page on October 7, 2026. They are time-specific configurator figures, not guaranteed transaction prices; equipment, destination charges, dealer pricing and incentives can affect a buyer’s quote.
| Trim | Starting price displayed Oct. 7, 2026 | Powertrain availability shown |
|---|---|---|
| XL | $27,145 | Hybrid or 2.0L EcoBoost |
| XLT | $29,645 | Hybrid or 2.0L EcoBoost |
| Lobo | $35,930 | 2.0L EcoBoost |
| Lariat | $35,870 | Hybrid or 2.0L EcoBoost |
| Tremor | $41,140 | 2.0L EcoBoost |
Check Ford’s current U.S. configurator before choosing a trim: prices and equipment availability can change. Lobo’s displayed starting price is $60 higher than Lariat’s, so trim names or apparent hierarchy alone do not establish which is the better value.
Why Ford’s published starting prices differ
Ford’s August 27, 2025 model-year update said the 2026 Maverick starts at $28,145 MSRP. That is $1,000 above the XL figure shown on Ford’s configurator on October 7, 2026. The available Ford information does not reconcile the two figures or establish a recent across-the-lineup price cut. Treat them as figures from different Ford sources and dates, and verify the specific vehicle’s current price rather than assuming the difference reflects a broadly available reduction.

Ford’s model-year announcement also described the 2.0L EcoBoost front-wheel-drive option as $1,000 less than the standard hybrid front-wheel-drive setup on XL and XLT. Ford described EcoBoost all-wheel drive as a no-charge upgrade compared with standard hybrid front-wheel drive. These are Ford’s stated relative prices, not a promise about the final out-the-door cost of every build.
Which Maverick trim fits your priorities?
XL and XLT: lower starting prices and a hybrid choice
XL is the lowest-priced trim shown, while XLT costs $2,500 more in the October 7 configurator. Both are listed with hybrid and EcoBoost powertrains. Ford says the hybrid is standard on XL and XLT, and its 2026 update described the EcoBoost front-wheel-drive version as a lower-priced alternative. Compare the equipment on the actual builds you are considering; the starting-price difference does not by itself show which configuration is the better buy.

Lariat: a higher trim with hybrid availability
Lariat is listed with either the hybrid or 2.0L EcoBoost. Its displayed starting price is $35,870—$60 below Lobo’s—making it important to compare actual equipment and intended use rather than assuming Lobo is a step above it in value.
Lobo: street-performance focus
Lobo is listed with the 2.0L EcoBoost and is positioned by Ford for street performance. Ford highlights Lobo Mode and torque-vectoring stability. Its displayed starting price is $35,930.

Tremor: off-road focus
Tremor is listed with the 2.0L EcoBoost and is Ford’s off-road-oriented trim. It starts at $41,140 in the dated configurator observation. For other Maverick trims, Ford lists an available FX4 Off-Road Package with upgraded suspension, skid plates and all-terrain tires; confirm package compatibility and equipment for the specific build.
Hybrid versus EcoBoost: economy and power
Ford estimates 42 mpg city for front-wheel-drive hybrid models. For the 2.0L EcoBoost, Ford lists 250 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, and up to 27 mpg highway. Ford gives the Lobo an EPA-estimated 30 mpg highway and the Tremor 27 mpg highway. These are not all measurements from the same fuel-economy cycle, so they should not be treated as a complete like-for-like comparison across every engine and drivetrain. Check the EPA label for the exact configuration you plan to buy.

Ford’s 2026 update lists hybrid availability on XL, XLT and Lariat; Lobo and Tremor are shown with EcoBoost. If fuel use is a priority, compare the hybrid front-wheel-drive estimate with the rating on your chosen EcoBoost configuration. If you need a particular drivetrain, confirm it is available on the trim you want.
Towing, payload and bed dimensions
Ford lists 2,000 lb of standard towing capacity and up to 4,000 lb when equipped with the available 4K Tow Package. The 4,000-lb maximum is package- and configuration-dependent; it does not apply to every Maverick. Ford also advertises up to 1,500 lb of payload. These are separate maximum ratings, not permission to tow at the maximum while also carrying the maximum payload. Check the specific truck’s ratings and equipment against the load you intend to carry.

Ford’s 2026 model-year update identifies Marsh Gray and Orange Fury Metallic Tri-Coat as new exterior colors. It says the power-sliding rear window is available on Lariat and Tremor, with late availability planned for XLT and Lobo. Ford also says each 2026 Maverick includes a Ford Connectivity Package with a complimentary one-year subscription and offers an optional seven-year package. The update notes a conventional spare tire as a standalone option and SiriusXM with 360L with a three-year plan as optional. Equipment and timing can vary by build, so confirm the configuration before ordering.
How to build a useful Maverick shortlist
- Set a budget using a current build. Start with the trim’s displayed price, then configure the engine, drivetrain and equipment you need. Use the resulting quote—not a trim’s headline price—to compare vehicles.
- Choose the powertrain and drivetrain. XL, XLT and Lariat offer hybrid and EcoBoost choices in Ford’s lineup; Lobo and Tremor are listed with EcoBoost. Compare the exact EPA label for each configuration.
- Match the trim to how you drive. Consider Lobo for Ford’s street-performance setup, Tremor for the off-road-oriented trim, and the available FX4 package where offered if you want off-road equipment on another configuration.
- Check your load before relying on a maximum. If towing above the standard 2,000 lb, confirm the truck has the 4K Tow Package and that its configuration supports the load. Check payload and bed fit for cargo as well.
- Confirm timing-sensitive options. Ask whether the color, power-sliding rear window, spare tire, connectivity package or other selected equipment is available on the build and delivery timing you are considering.
