The R/T gets the standard-output tune, rated by Dodge at 420 hp and 468 lb-ft; the Scat Pack gets the high-output version, rated at 550 hp and 531 lb-ft. Dodge also publishes quicker acceleration and a higher top speed for the Scat Pack, while the R/T is the lower-output entry point with a U.S. starting MSRP announced at $49,995 before tax, title and fees.
What “SIXPACK” means on the 2026 Charger
SIXPACK is Dodge’s name for the Charger’s 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo straight-six. It is not a separate engine layout: both the R/T and Scat Pack use an inline-six, with the distinction being the engine’s output tune. Dodge describes the two versions as standard-output and high-output. Dodge’s Charger FAQ identifies the SIXPACK versions, while its announcements provide the model-specific figures.
R/T and Scat Pack: Dodge’s published figures
The figures below are Dodge ratings or performance claims, not independent test results. Dodge’s March 2026 R/T announcement and 2025 Scat Pack announcement describe different trims; confirm the exact build and current availability with Dodge or a dealer before treating equipment as universal across body styles.

What the Scat Pack adds
The Scat Pack’s high-output SIXPACK is the more powerful of the two versions. Dodge lists 550 hp and 531 lb-ft, compared with the R/T’s 420 hp and 468 lb-ft. Its announcement also specifies standard all-wheel drive with a selectable rear-wheel-drive mode, an eight-speed automatic, and 275/40ZR20 all-season tires on 20-by-10-inch wheels. Dodge’s 2026 Charger model page is the place to check model information; verify the equipment on the exact vehicle being considered.
The listed tire size is useful when identifying the Scat Pack’s original specification, but it does not identify a tire brand or establish that any particular replacement tire is approved for a specific vehicle. Check the vehicle placard, owner information and tire manufacturer’s fitment guidance before buying replacements.

How the R/T compares with the outgoing HEMI R/T
Dodge says the new R/T’s standard-output SIXPACK gains 50 hp and 73 lb-ft over the outgoing 5.7-liter HEMI R/T. The company also claims the new car reaches 60 mph 0.5 second sooner and completes the quarter mile 0.6 second sooner. Those comparisons are Dodge’s own, not independent back-to-back test results. R/T price and availability context
In its March 9, 2026 U.S. announcement, Dodge listed a $49,995 starting MSRP for the Charger R/T, excluding tax, title and fees, and said four-door models add $2,000. The release said R/T orders were open and vehicles were expected at dealerships before the end of that quarter. These are dated announcement details, not confirmation of today’s local stock, order timing or transaction price; check current pricing and availability with Dodge or a dealer. Dodge’s announcement contains the stated MSRP and timing.

Dodge’s Scat Pack announcement described orders opening August 13 and dealership arrivals in the second half of 2025. Those rollout dates are historical and do not establish present inventory or order status. Dodge’s Scat Pack announcement provides that original timing.

- Choose the R/T as the lower-output option: Dodge rates it at 420 hp and 468 lb-ft and announced a U.S. starting MSRP of $49,995 before tax, title and fees, with the stated four-door addition.
- Choose the Scat Pack for the higher-output tune: Dodge rates it at 550 hp and 531 lb-ft and specifies AWD with selectable rear-wheel-drive mode and the listed performance equipment.
- Compare like-for-like builds: Body style, equipment, dealer pricing and availability can change the practical comparison. Confirm the specifications and price for the exact vehicle rather than assuming one announcement applies to every configuration.
The announcements establish Dodge’s specifications and claims, but not real-world fuel economy, independently verified acceleration, long-term reliability, maintenance costs or insurance costs. Those require evidence beyond manufacturer launch materials.
