For the U.S. 2026 model year, the Chevrolet Trax is the lower-priced, five-trim small SUV, while the Trailblazer is a four-trim line that adds available all-wheel drive (AWD) and a more outdoors-themed ACTIV configuration. Chevrolet’s displayed starting prices, reviewed October 13, 2026, run from $21,700 for Trax LS to $28,200 for Trailblazer ACTIV and RS; the Trailblazer RS example on the page is shown at $28,595. These are manufacturer display prices, not dealer quotes, and can change with configuration, destination charges, incentives and local inventory.
The practical dividing line is simple: choose Trax for the lower entry price and a straightforward mix of value, style and convenience. Look at Trailblazer when AWD availability, roof rails or the 1.3L turbo and ACTIV-oriented equipment matter. The trims are not interchangeable: Trax uses 1RS and 2RS names, while Trailblazer has one RS trim.

| Trax | Five: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, ACTIV | LS $21,700; 1RS and LT $23,200; 2RS and ACTIV $25,700 | Lower entry price; front-drive lineup in the cited material, with separate value, RS-style and ACTIV appearance choices |
| Trailblazer | Four: LS, LT, ACTIV, RS | LS $23,600; LT $24,800; ACTIV and RS $28,200; RS example displayed at $28,595 | Available AWD, more cargo-and-outdoors presentation, and 1.3L-turbo ACTIV/RS equipment listed by Chevrolet |
For exact equipment, incentives and drivetrain, use the vehicle’s window sticker or build page. Chevrolet’s 2026 Trax page and 2026 Trailblazer page present highlights rather than a substitute for a configuration-specific build sheet.

Trax LS: the $21,700 starting point
Trax LS is the least expensive way into the 2026 Trax range at Chevrolet’s displayed $21,700 starting price. Its highlighted standard equipment includes Chevy Safety Assist, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights and Active Noise Cancellation. Chevrolet describes Chevy Safety Assist as “a suite of six advanced safety and driver assistance features that bring peace of mind to every drive”; that wording is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent crash-test or safety evaluation.

LS makes the most sense when purchase price and core connectivity matter more than appearance upgrades or convenience features. Confirm the individual safety functions and any option restrictions on the window sticker for the vehicle you are considering.
Trax 1RS: sport appearance at $23,200
The 1RS raises the displayed starting price to $23,200 and concentrates on visual changes. Chevrolet lists 18-inch machined two-tone wheels, RS badging, a unique grille, black bowtie emblems and red interior accents. It is an appearance-led step above LS rather than a separate performance model in the supplied specifications.
Trax LT: the convenience-focused $23,200 trim
Trax LT has the same displayed $23,200 starting price as 1RS but follows a different brief. Its listed highlights are 17-inch machined two-tone wheels, an 11-inch center touchscreen, an 8-inch driver information display, remote start and automatic climate controls. If screen size, starting the vehicle remotely and set-and-forget temperature control matter more than RS styling, LT is the logical comparison.
Chevrolet also lists a Midnight Edition as available on LT. It is an appearance package, not a sixth Trax trim, so ask the seller to identify the package separately from the LT name.
Trax 2RS: larger wheels and darker sport details
At a displayed $25,700 starting price, 2RS adds a more conspicuous RS treatment than 1RS. Chevrolet lists 19-inch machined two-tone wheels, RS badging, a unique grille, black bowtie emblems, red interior accents, black exterior details and a flat-bottom steering wheel. The larger wheels and trim-specific styling are the primary reasons to move up; the cited material does not establish a different powertrain or a special performance system for 2RS.

Trax ACTIV: a distinct look, not a proven off-road model
Trax ACTIV also starts at $25,700. Its listed visual cues are 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, a black grille with Titanium chrome accents, ACTIV badging, unique interior accents and yellow interior touches. Those details distinguish it from both RS trims.
Do not treat the Trax ACTIV name as evidence of serious off-road capability. The cited Trax material identifies appearance equipment, not a tested off-road rating, low-range gearing or a documented terrain system. For AWD research, the reviewed Chevrolet information specifically identifies availability on Trailblazer, not Trax.

Trailblazer LS: $23,600 with useful basics
Trailblazer LS starts at Chevrolet’s displayed $23,600. The page highlights 17-inch silver-painted aluminum wheels, an 11-inch center touchscreen, an 8-inch driver information screen, an HD Rear Vision Camera and a fold-flat front passenger seat. That combination makes LS the equipment-and-price baseline for the Trailblazer line.
Trailblazer LT: $24,800 and more everyday convenience
For a displayed $24,800, LT adds the features Chevrolet specifically lists over LS: 17-inch high-gloss black machined-aluminum wheels, Keyless Open and Start, remote vehicle starter, silver-painted roof rails and deep-tinted rear windows and liftgate glass. The roof rails are particularly relevant if you carry gear, but verify whether any crossbars or other accessories are included; the trim highlights do not say that they are.
As with Trax, Chevrolet lists a Midnight Edition as available on LT. It is an appearance package, not a separate trim in the four-trim Trailblazer lineup.

Trailblazer ACTIV: $28,200 with 1.3L turbo and outdoors-oriented hardware
Trailblazer ACTIV has a displayed $28,200 starting price. Chevrolet lists a 1.3L turbo engine, off-road suspension tuning, a functional skid plate and a dual-outlet exhaust with trapezoidal polished tips. AWD is available for the Trailblazer model; check the exact ACTIV configuration and window sticker to confirm whether the vehicle has it.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →The suspension tuning and skid plate are meaningful distinctions for rougher roads and appearance, but they do not establish that ACTIV is a serious off-road vehicle. The source material does not provide ground-clearance testing, approach-angle data, tire specifications for every configuration or a comparative trail rating. Treat the trim as an outdoors-oriented crossover configuration and verify the drivetrain you are buying.
Trailblazer RS: $28,200 starting, with an example shown at $28,595
Trailblazer RS is displayed with a $28,200 starting price, while Chevrolet’s page shows an RS example at $28,595. That difference illustrates why the displayed figure should not be read as a guaranteed transaction price. RS highlights include the 1.3L turbo, 19-inch high-gloss black machined-aluminum wheels, a heated wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, RS badging and red interior accents.
The page identifies RS as including ACTIV features, but equipment can vary by configuration. Confirm the specific vehicle’s drivetrain, suspension, wheels and standard-equipment list rather than assuming every RS on a dealer lot is identically equipped.
Trax versus Trailblazer: the differences that affect a purchase
| Question | Trax | Trailblazer |
|---|---|---|
| Lowest displayed starting price | LS: $21,700 | LS: $23,600 |
| Lineup size | Five trims: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, ACTIV | Four trims: LS, LT, ACTIV, RS |
| AWD | Not stated as available in the cited Chevrolet Trax material | Available for the model; verify trim and vehicle configuration |
| Most useful listed screen/convenience step | LT: 11-inch touchscreen, 8-inch driver display, remote start, automatic climate controls | LS already lists 11-inch touchscreen and 8-inch driver display; LT adds keyless entry/start, remote start and roof rails |
| Sport-style choice | 1RS and 2RS; 2RS uses 19-inch wheels | RS; 19-inch wheels, flat-bottom heated steering wheel and red accents |
| ACTIV equipment called out by Chevrolet | 18-inch black wheels and unique exterior/interior accents | 1.3L turbo, off-road-tuned suspension, functional skid plate and dual-outlet exhaust; AWD availability must be checked |
The price gap between similarly named trims is not perfectly linear. Trax 1RS and LT share a displayed $23,200 starting price, while Trailblazer ACTIV and RS share a displayed $28,200 starting price even though their styling and stated equipment differ. Compare the actual build, not only the badge.

Engines and fuel-economy figures
Chevrolet identifies the Trax with an ECOTEC 1.2L turbo. For Trailblazer, Chevrolet describes an ECOTEC 1.3L turbo in connection with RS and ACTIV. The supplied pages do not provide a complete trim-by-trim engine table for every Trailblazer configuration, so do not infer that every LS or LT has the same engine or drivetrain as RS/ACTIV without checking the build sheet.
| Model | Chevrolet-listed fuel economy | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 Trax | 28 city/32 highway mpg | Model-level figure on Chevrolet’s current fuel-economy page reviewed in 2026; exact rating can depend on configuration |
| 2026 Trailblazer | 29 city/33 highway mpg | Model-level figure on the same page; confirm the rating for the drivetrain and vehicle being compared |
These are Chevrolet’s listed figures, not a promise that every trim achieves them. For the current numbers and any configuration detail Chevrolet publishes, consult the Chevrolet fuel-economy page.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which trim should you choose?
Choose Trax LS when the lowest entry price is the priority
LS gives you the lowest displayed price in either lineup and includes the connectivity, LED lighting and driver-assistance highlights Chevrolet names. It is the cleanest choice when you do not need the larger screens and convenience equipment listed for LT.
Choose Trax LT when convenience beats styling
LT is the value sweet spot within Trax if you want the 11-inch touchscreen, 8-inch driver display, remote start and automatic climate controls. Because it costs the same displayed starting price as 1RS, the decision is mainly between those functions and RS appearance.
Choose a Trax RS when wheels and cabin accents matter most
1RS adds 18-inch wheels and RS details for $23,200, while 2RS moves to 19-inch wheels and additional black exterior treatment at $25,700. Consider tire replacement cost, ride quality and wheel damage exposure before paying for larger wheels; the cited Chevrolet material does not quantify those trade-offs.
Best Value
Choose Trailblazer LT for access, starting convenience and carrying gear
LT adds Keyless Open and Start, remote vehicle starting, roof rails and privacy glass to the LS foundation. It is the most straightforward Trailblazer step when those everyday features matter more than ACTIV suspension hardware or RS styling.
Investigate Trailblazer ACTIV when AWD or rough-road equipment matters
ACTIV is the Trailblazer trim Chevrolet explicitly presents with off-road suspension tuning and a functional skid plate, and it is the place to investigate AWD availability. Confirm the actual AWD configuration, tires and window-sticker equipment before signing, because the model page does not make every drivetrain combination universal.
Choose Trailblazer RS for sport presentation with ACTIV-related equipment
RS combines the 1.3L turbo and 19-inch wheels with a heated flat-bottom steering wheel, RS badging and red accents. Chevrolet says the page’s RS listing includes ACTIV features, but verify the exact vehicle because advertised equipment can vary by configuration.

Pricing, availability and a buyer’s verification checklist
All prices in this article are Chevrolet’s displayed starting prices at the time of the October 13, 2026 review. They are not dealer quotes and do not guarantee local inventory. Chevrolet can change prices, packages and available configurations, and destination charges, taxes, registration, accessories and dealer-installed items can change the amount you pay.
- Open the current Chevrolet model page and select the exact trim.
- Confirm drivetrain, engine, wheel size and any package on the build summary.
- Match the vehicle identification number and window sticker to that configuration at the dealership.
- Ask which charges are mandatory and which are optional, including destination, accessories and dealer add-ons.
- Recheck the fuel-economy rating for the exact drivetrain rather than relying only on the model-level number.
Trax floor mats and other ownership accessories
Chevrolet Accessories lists a 2024–2026 Trax all-weather floor and cargo liner package and other vehicle-specific products in its Trax accessory catalog. Treat fitment as trim- and model-year-specific: confirm that the product is intended for a 2026 Trax and the vehicle’s floor configuration.
Safety matters more than appearance. The 2026 Chevrolet Trax Owner Manual warns that a wrong-size or improperly installed mat can interfere with the pedals and says to use only GM-approved floor mats. Secure the retaining points, check full pedal travel and remove any mat that shifts. An owner discussion at r/ChevyTrax mentions Amazon mat purchases, but that anecdote does not establish fit, quality or GM approval for any particular listing.
Bottom line
Trax offers the lower-cost path and more granular styling choices: LT emphasizes screens and convenience, 1RS and 2RS emphasize RS appearance, and ACTIV is primarily a distinct appearance package in the cited material. Trailblazer costs more to start but adds available AWD and a clearer equipment split: LT for convenience, ACTIV for the named rough-road hardware, and RS for sport styling with 1.3L-turbo and ACTIV-related equipment. Verify the window sticker, drivetrain and current price before treating any trim comparison as final.
