The 2026 BMW M2 CS is rated at 523 hp in BMW’s U.S. specification and 390 kW/530 hp in BMW’s global specification. Both releases list 479 lb-ft of torque; BMW announced the figures on May 27, 2025, so they are no longer leaked specifications.
How much power does the 2026 BMW M2 CS make?
BMW Group PressClub USA lists the M2 CS at 523 hp at 6,250 rpm, with a redline of 7,200 rpm. Its torque is 479 lb-ft from 2,750 to 5,730 rpm. BMW says that is 50 hp more than the standard automatic M2. BMW’s U.S. announcement was published May 27, 2025.
BMW’s global release gives the output as 390 kW/530 hp at 6,250 rpm and torque as 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) from 2,650 to 5,730 rpm. See BMW’s global announcement, also published May 27, 2025.
Why do the U.S. and global horsepower figures differ?
BMW publishes the specification using different market-unit labels: 523 hp in its U.S. release and 390 kW/530 hp in its global release. These are BMW’s regional presentations of the published output, not evidence of two different engine measurements. When comparing specifications, retain the figure and units used by the relevant market source.

Engine, transmission and drive
BMW identifies an upgraded 3.0-liter S58 inline-six with M TwinPower Turbo technology. The U.S. specification pairs it with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission and rear-wheel drive.
Acceleration
BMW lists a 0–60 mph time of 3.7 seconds for the U.S. specification. This is the manufacturer’s published figure, not an independent test result.
