The 2025 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is the Tundra’s off-road-focused hybrid grade, combining 437 horsepower, 583 lb-ft of torque and substantial trail hardware. Its $72,510 base MSRP and manufacturer-estimated 18 city/20 highway mpg make it an expensive, fuel-conscious choice rather than a maximum-towing bargain. It can be worth the premium if you will use the FOX suspension, all-terrain tires, skid protection and four-wheel-drive hardware; buyers primarily seeking towing capacity should verify a less specialized configuration’s exact ratings before paying for the TRD Pro package.
What the 2025 Tundra TRD Pro is
The TRD Pro sits near the top of Toyota’s 2025 Tundra range, above grades such as SR, SR5 and Limited and alongside Platinum, 1794 Edition and Capstone. Toyota positions it as the lineup’s off-road-oriented hybrid. Its equipment is intended to improve clearance, suspension control and underbody protection, not to establish a universal trail-performance guarantee.

TRD Pro equipment
- FOX 2.5-inch internal-bypass off-road shocks
- A 1.1-inch front lift
- A TRD Pro front stabilizer bar
- An aluminum front skid plate and added underbody protection
- 18-inch BBS forged-aluminum wheels
- Falken WILDPEAK all-terrain tires
- A heritage-style grille, LED light bar and marker lights
Those parts are meaningful advantages on rough roads and trails. Tire size, load rating, wheel protection, approach conditions and the driver’s experience still determine what the truck can safely negotiate. The Falken tires are factory equipment; confirm the exact size and load rating on the individual truck before replacing them.
Powertrain: the high-output i-FORCE MAX hybrid
Every 2025 TRD Pro uses Toyota’s i-FORCE MAX system: a twin-turbocharged V6 with an electric motor-generator integrated between the engine and a 10-speed automatic transmission. Toyota lists 437 hp at 5,200 rpm and 583 lb-ft of torque at 2,400 rpm.
#1 Best Overall
- Engineered to precisely fit your vehicle, all-weather floor liners are made from durable, flexible, weather-resistant material that cleans easily
- Precise injection molding uses Toyota's original vehicle design data for a perfect fit
- Liners feature ribbed channels to better hold moisture and a stylish vehicle logo
- Skid-resistant backing and driver- side quarter-turn fasteners help keep the liners in place
- Made in the U.S.A.
For context, Toyota lists the non-hybrid i-FORCE V6 at 389 hp and 479 lb-ft. That engine is not the TRD Pro powertrain. The hybrid’s additional torque is relevant when accelerating a loaded truck or climbing loose surfaces, but output figures alone do not establish a specific trailer rating or acceleration time.
Price and fuel economy
Toyota lists a $72,510 base MSRP for the 2025 Tundra TRD Pro. That is a manufacturer-published model-year reference, not a current dealer transaction price; inventory, destination charges, taxes, incentives and market conditions can change the amount you pay.

Toyota estimates 18 mpg city and 20 mpg highway for the TRD Pro. These are official estimates, not observed results from an independent road test. Expect actual consumption to depend on speed, temperature, payload, tire pressure, terrain, idling and trailer use. Frequent trail driving or towing will generally impose a larger fuel penalty than the headline highway estimate.

Toyota publishes up to 12,000 pounds of towing capacity and up to 1,940 pounds of payload for the 2025 Tundra lineup. Those are lineup-wide maxima achieved only by applicable configurations; they are not verified TRD Pro ratings. Do not use either figure as the capacity of a particular TRD Pro.

- Blue Laser Precision Fit: Michelin floor mats are engineered using blue laser scanning technology, which is 10X more accurate than regular red laser scanning*. This allows for a millimeter-perfect contour to your 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra, ensuring full coverage custom fit.
- Heavy-Duty Material: Constructed from premium high-density TPE, Michelin floor mats are designed to withstand heavy foot traffic. It retains shape perfectly and won't deform over time. Unlike rubber, this material is free of harsh chemicals, for use even in hot weather, keeping every journey protected
- Advanced Liquid Management: Inspired by Michelin tire tread, the high-performance liquid diversion channel channels liquid away from the pedals for a slip-free driving experience. Combined with 360° raised walls, it traps liquid during turns and stops to prevent overflow, safeguarding your interior from mud, snow, and spills
- Secure Install & Easy Cleaning: Installation is tool-free. Simply clip them onto the OEM anchors so there is no shifting. The bottom features anti-slip studs that bite into the factory carpet fibers, keeping the Michelin mat immovable. To clean, simply remove and hose down with water to wash away grime in seconds

Verify the truck before buying
- Read the specific vehicle’s door-jamb certification label for its gross vehicle weight rating, axle ratings and payload information.
- Use the owner information and Toyota’s configuration-specific towing data for that exact cab, bed, drivetrain and equipment combination.
- Subtract passengers, cargo, accessories, hitch equipment and the trailer’s tongue weight from available payload.
- Check the loaded trailer’s gross weight, tongue weight, braking equipment and any state requirements.
- Confirm that the hitch receiver, trailer wiring, integrated trailer-brake controller and trailer-sway-control equipment on the truck match the job. Toyota’s 2025 brochure identifies these features by trim specification, so verify the actual vehicle rather than assuming every Tundra has identical hardware.
A dealer or online listing that repeats “12,000 pounds” without identifying the configuration is not enough for a safe purchase decision. For a heavy trailer, weigh the loaded combination and keep margin below every applicable rating.
Off-road capability versus everyday use
The TRD Pro’s hardware gives it a stronger starting point for dirt roads, rocks, ruts and uneven terrain than a street-oriented Tundra grade. The front lift, dedicated FOX dampers, stabilizer bar, skid protection and all-terrain tires address different parts of that job: clearance, suspension control, body protection and traction.

- Custom Fit for 2022-2026 Toyota Tundra CrewMax Cab (SR/SR5/TRD Pro/Limited/Platinum/Capstone/1794 Edition): 3D laser scanning ensures full coverage and precise floor fit, no trimming required
- Premium TPE All-Weather Protection: TPE material resists rain, snow, mud, sand and spills, protecting your truck interior year-round
- Deep Grooves & High Edge Design: Traps liquids, dirt and debris. Easy to clean - remove, hose off or wipe dry
- Non-Slip & Secure: Anti-slip surface and retention clips keep mats firm, no shifting or curling during driving
- Front & Rear 2-Row Set: Full liners for 2-row seating, durable, flexible and long-lasting for your Tundra
That equipment also creates trade-offs. All-terrain tires can produce different road noise, steering feel and wet-weather behavior than highway tires, while forged wheels and specialized shocks add replacement-cost considerations. Toyota’s specifications establish what is fitted, but they do not provide independent measurements of ride comfort, cabin noise, visibility or trail outcomes. A buyer who values commuting comfort should drive the exact truck on the roads used every day and compare it with a non-Pro Tundra.

Daily livability and cabin expectations
The TRD Pro is still a full-size crew-cab pickup intended to handle ordinary driving as well as recreation. Its hybrid powertrain can supply strong low-rpm torque, and the standard equipment package is more specialized than a basic work-truck grade. However, no independent road-test measurements or long-term ownership observations establish a definitive verdict on ride quality, controls, seat comfort, turning ease or interior noise for this review.

Safety equipment and crash-test context
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety lists the 2025 Tundra crew cab as a Top Safety Pick+ and shows Good ratings in the crashworthiness categories on its rating page. IIHS also identifies the test vehicles and model-year applicability; some assessments shown for the 2025 listing use a 2022 Tundra. Therefore, treat the award as the institute’s stated rating for the applicable 2025 crew-cab evaluation, not as evidence that a newly crash-tested 2025 TRD Pro itself completed every test.
Toyota says Tundra grades include Toyota Safety Sense 2.5. Listed functions include a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic radar cruise control, lane-departure alert, automatic high beams, road-sign assist and lane-tracing assist. Exact functions and availability can vary by trim and vehicle, so confirm the window sticker and owner information for the truck you are considering.

It makes sense when
- You regularly need factory-ready off-road suspension, underbody protection and all-terrain tires.
- You want the i-FORCE MAX’s 437-hp, 583-lb-ft output and are comfortable with the TRD Pro’s price premium.
- Your trailer and payload needs fit the exact truck’s certified ratings after passengers and gear are counted.
- You prefer buying a coordinated factory package instead of adding comparable suspension, wheels, tires and protection later.
Another Tundra grade may be better when
- Your priority is the highest possible towing or payload figure; the lineup maxima are not TRD Pro guarantees.
- Most miles are paved commuting and you would rather have highway-oriented tires and a less specialized setup.
- The $72,510 base MSRP leaves too little room for fuel, insurance, accessories or trailer costs.
- You need a configuration whose door-label payload or tow rating exceeds the specific TRD Pro’s rating.
Bottom line for buyers
The 2025 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is a compelling factory off-road package with one of the Tundra lineup’s strongest powertrains. Its 437-hp hybrid, FOX suspension, lift, protection and Falken tires justify consideration for owners who will use them. The rational purchase process is configuration-specific: verify the door-label payload and tow rating, price the truck locally, and test-drive it on your normal roads before treating the advertised capability as an everyday advantage.
