Ford adds a Tremor-specific front clip, coast-to-coast grille with Active Orange accents, new running boards and interior details, an optional modular bumper designed for accessories, and updated off-road hardware and controls. It remains a conventional F-150 for towing, hauling and daily use, but exact engine, geometry, payload and towing figures depend on the truck’s cab, bed, axle ratio and installed equipment.
A new Tremor-specific exterior
Ford describes the 2024 Tremor as a purpose-built off-road F-150 that preserves normal truck functionality. Body panels from the side mirrors forward receive a dedicated Tremor treatment, making the front clip the most obvious change from the 2023 truck.

Front-end changes
- A coast-to-coast grille with Tremor Active Orange accents.
- A new Tremor-specific front design and related front body panels.
- An available modular front bumper in Tarnished Dark Anodized and Carbon Black.
The modular bumper is intended to make accessory installation easier. Ford says it can be ordered with a light bar, while a dealer-installed Ford Performance Winch Kit uses a WARN 12,000-pound winch and can be paired with a brush guard.

Side and cabin details
- Tremor box-side decals.
- Unique Tremor-style running boards.
- Accent stitching and decorative interior finishes.
- Tremor floor mats.
Ford’s Vehicle Personalization team has indicated that additional accessories are planned, so availability should be checked against current ordering and dealer information.

Off-road equipment that carries into 2024
The 2024 Tremor’s changes are not limited to styling. Ford’s technical specifications identify hardware and drive modes that distinguish it from a regular F-150 equipped with an appearance package.
Controls and differentials
- Tremor-only Trail Control with One-Pedal Drive.
- Trail Control and Trail Turn Assist.
- Electronically controlled four-wheel drive.
- An electronic-locking rear differential.
- An available Torsen front differential on qualifying Tremor configurations.
Suspension
- Tremor monotube front shocks.
- Twin-tube rear shocks.
These features are the mechanical reason to choose a Tremor over an ordinary F-150 with only an FX4-related equipment package. The exact suspension, differential and tire specification still needs to be confirmed on the particular build sheet.
Engine and transmission choices
Ford’s 2024 F-150 technical sheet lists four engine families across the lineup. That document is not a guarantee that every engine is offered with every Tremor cab, bed or package combination.

Gasoline F-150 configurations in the technical specification list use a 10-speed SelectShift automatic transmission. Confirm the engine and transmission on the window sticker or current order documentation for a specific VIN; do not treat the lineup table as a universal Tremor build guide.
Geometry varies by the truck you order
Ford publishes approach angle, departure angle, breakover angle and ground-clearance figures by configuration. Wheelbase, bed length and drivetrain change those numbers, so there is no single universally correct 2024 Tremor approach angle or clearance figure.
For an off-road comparison, use the row matching the exact cab, bed and four-wheel-drive configuration. If you are buying used or comparing dealer inventory, read the vehicle’s specification sheet rather than relying on a generic Tremor headline number.

Towing and payload: use the certified configuration
Ford’s 2024 towing guide includes Tremor-package rows, but maximum trailer weight depends on engine, axle ratio, cab and bed, and other equipment. The correct limit is the lower applicable rating after considering the truck’s door-label payload and its GVWR and GCWR.

Before towing
- Identify the exact engine, axle ratio, cab, bed and equipment on the window sticker.
- Find the matching Tremor row in Ford’s 2024 towing guide.
- Check the driver’s-door payload label on the actual truck.
- Subtract passengers, cargo, hitch hardware and tongue weight from available payload.
- Keep trailer weight, tongue load, GVWR and GCWR within their respective limits.
A brochure maximum is not a blanket rating for every Tremor. The door label and matching Ford table row govern the truck you actually operate.
2024 Tremor versus an FX4 F-150
An XLT or Lariat with FX4 equipment can provide useful off-road capability, but the Tremor is the more integrated choice when the truck will regularly leave the pavement.

Choose FX4 if your priority is a conventional F-150 trim with occasional trail use and you prefer its available configuration. Choose Tremor when the dedicated suspension, trail controls, differential options and accessory-ready front end justify the additional equipment.

The Tremor targets buyers who want an off-road-focused truck that still fits ordinary F-150 duties. The Raptor is the more extreme performance-oriented alternative. Compare the two using suspension and differential hardware, engine and transmission, certified tow and payload ratings, cab and bed choices, interior equipment, bumper and accessory provisions, and total transaction price.
A Raptor should not be assumed to have the same towing, payload or geometry as a Tremor simply because both are marketed for off-road driving. Verify each vehicle’s door label and configuration-specific Ford documentation.

Factory and dealer-supported options

- Light bar ordered with the bumper configuration.
- Dealer-installed Ford Performance Winch Kit with a WARN 12,000-pound winch.
- Brush guard paired with the winch setup where compatible.
Before purchasing a bumper, winch or lighting component, confirm fitment for the model year, cab, front-camera system and existing equipment. Accessory availability can change, and Ford has indicated that more Tremor accessories may be added.
What changed from the 2023 Tremor?
The meaningful 2024 change is a new Tremor design and a broader accessory-minded front-end strategy. The coast-to-coast grille, Active Orange detailing, revised running boards, Tremor-specific interior accents and modular bumper are the visible updates. Ford also identifies Tremor-specific trail controls and suspension components in the 2024 technical material, while engine, geometry and towing specifications remain dependent on the individual configuration.
