What the WRX tS adds
Subaru introduced the tS as a performance-focused trim for the 2025 WRX. Its changes center on suspension, brakes, wheels, seats and instrumentation rather than a more powerful engine. Subaru described the STI-tuned suspension as using electronically controlled dampers and revised tuning intended to improve performance, handling capability and ride comfort.
Suspension and driving modes
The tS has STI-tuned electronically controlled adjustable dampers and Drive Mode Select. Subaru’s descriptions identify the hardware and tuning, but do not provide comparative lap times or independent measurements of handling or ride quality.
Brakes, wheels and tires
Subaru lists Brembo high-performance brakes, with gold-colored calipers in its launch announcement, and 19-inch satin-gray alloy wheels. The announced original-equipment tire is the Bridgestone Potenza S007. Subaru’s reviewed materials do not state the tire size; check the vehicle’s placard and exact fitment before buying replacements.

Seats, cabin and instruments
The tS adds Recaro Performance Design front seats and an STI-branded 12.3-inch full LCD gauge cluster. The brochure also specifies Ultrasuede and leather-trimmed upholstery with blue accents, an STI starter switch and deletion of the power moonroof. Subaru says the tS includes key features of the WRX Limited.
Engine and performance claims
The tS uses the WRX’s 271-horsepower, turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder BOXER engine; Subaru did not announce an engine-output increase for this trim. The distinction matters: the tS’s performance-focused additions are chassis and equipment changes, not a separately rated higher-output powertrain. Subaru’s published figures do not establish tS-specific acceleration, braking distances, fuel economy or comparative track performance.

2025 WRX tS price and arrival timing
Subaru of America announced a U.S. MSRP of $45,705 for the 2025 WRX tS on November 27, 2024. That is the manufacturer’s announced MSRP, not an out-the-door total, a dealer quote or a current transaction price. The same pricing announcement said the 2025 WRX would arrive at retailers in early 2025; Subaru’s May 2024 launch announcement had specified the first quarter of 2025 for the tS.
For historical context, Subaru also announced a $35,750 starting MSRP for the 2025 WRX Premium. That lineup figure is not the tS price, and comparing trims requires accounting for their different equipment and any destination charges. Present-day inventory, incentives and dealer pricing are not established by those launch announcements.

How to compare the tS with another WRX
When comparing the tS with another 2025 WRX trim, use the official specification sheet for each configuration and focus on the equipment that changes:
- Suspension: Check whether the other trim has electronically controlled dampers and the tS’s STI-tuned Drive Mode Select.
- Brakes and wheels: Compare the tS’s Brembo system and 19-inch satin-gray wheels with the other trim’s listed equipment.
- Cabin and instrumentation: Account for the Recaro seats, blue-accented trim and 12.3-inch STI-branded gauge cluster.
- Price: Compare manufacturer MSRPs from the same model year, then obtain current dealer quotes separately.
- Configuration: Verify transmission and other equipment on the exact trim’s specification sheet rather than assuming it matches another WRX.
These equipment differences alone do not quantify how much quicker, more capable or more comfortable one trim is. Subaru’s announcements and brochure do not supply independent comparative test results for the tS.
