The 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT is rated at up to 1,108 PS (815 kW), but only for a maximum of two seconds under Porsche’s peak-power conditions. Its headline figure sits alongside a 789 PS continuous output and a 1,034 PS Launch Control output. The standard Turbo GT keeps four seats; the optional Weissach package removes the rear seats to make the four-door sedan a two-passenger, more track-focused car.
What does the Turbo GT’s four-digit power figure mean?
Porsche’s 1,108 PS figure is a brief peak, not the car’s continuous output. The company’s 2025 technical article gives three distinct output levels, each tied to its operating mode:

These are manufacturer specifications, not four interchangeable descriptions of power available at all times. Car and Driver lists the car at 1,019 hp combined power and 914 lb-ft in its U.S. test specifications. That listing uses a different horsepower unit and context from Porsche’s PS figures, so it should not be read as a competing measurement of the same peak mode.
How fast is the 2025 Taycan Turbo GT?
Acceleration figures depend on the test and units
Porsche quotes 0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) in 2.3 seconds for the standard Turbo GT and 2.2 seconds for Weissach. In Car and Driver’s instrumented U.S. test, both configurations reached 60 mph in 1.9 seconds, with the publication excluding a one-foot rollout. The different speeds and test methods matter; the Car and Driver result does not show a measured 0–60 advantage for Weissach.

Top speed and track records
Porsche lists a top track speed of 290 km/h (180 mph) for the standard Turbo GT and 305 km/h (190 mph) for Weissach. Porsche says the rear transmission was strengthened for higher input torque and given a longer ratio to support the higher track speed. The rear pulse inverter’s maximum current rises from 600 A in the Turbo S to 900 A in the Turbo GT; Porsche says its silicon-carbide design reduces switching losses and increases pulse frequency.
Porsche also reports two circuit records: a 7:07.55-minute Nordschleife lap by a pre-production Turbo GT, and a 1:27.87-minute lap at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca by a Weissach-package car on February 23, 2024. These are Porsche-reported records, with the stated configuration and venue, rather than independent comparisons of production cars.
Turbo GT versus Weissach: what changes?
Both versions remain four-door sedans. The standard Turbo GT is the choice that retains rear seating; Weissach removes the rear bench, making it a two-passenger car, and adds track-oriented aerodynamic and weight-saving measures.

Car and Driver’s figures are its test and specification listings, not a promise that every vehicle will reproduce its test outcome. The equal listed base prices also describe that publication’s pricing context, not necessarily a current dealer quote.

What Weissach adds for track use
Porsche describes Weissach as adding underbody airflow details, a diffuser and a fixed carbon-weave rear wing; the company says total downforce can reach 220 kg. It also says the package is about 70 kg lighter than the non-Weissach Turbo GT. These are manufacturer descriptions and claims. Porsche’s equipment discussion also names Porsche Active Ride with GT-specific tuning, special performance summer tires on 21-inch lightweight forged wheels, and lightweight ceramic brakes.
MotorTrend’s first look notes the Turbo GT’s front splitter, nose aero blades, forged 21-inch wheels and Gurney-flap rear spoiler. Its driving account was a short passenger hot lap with driver Jörg Bergmeister, not an instrumented test.

Range, charging and price context
Car and Driver lists EPA range of 276 miles for its standard Turbo GT specification and 269 miles for Weissach. Its separate model overview says “up to 340 miles” for the Turbo GT, a figure that does not align with those configuration-specific test listings. For a direct comparison of these two tested configurations, the 276- and 269-mile figures are the relevant values to use.
Porsche says the updated Taycan can accept up to 320 kW at 800-volt DC charging stations under ideal conditions. That is a peak capability, not a rate guaranteed at every charger or throughout a session. The updated model also has a standard 150 kW DC/DC converter intended to optimize charging on 400-volt networks, and Porsche says it expanded the fast-charging window. No specific real-world charging time for the Turbo GT is established by these figures.

Porsche’s February 6, 2024 U.S. announcement listed prices for other 2025 Taycan models—$99,400 for the base Taycan, $118,500 for the 4S, $173,600 for the Turbo and $209,000 for the Turbo S—excluding a $1,995 delivery, processing and handling fee; that list did not include the Turbo GT. Car and Driver lists a $231,995 Turbo GT base price for both configurations in its test specifications.
Which version makes more sense?
- Choose the standard Turbo GT if you want the four-seat layout and prefer the higher EPA range listing in Car and Driver’s test specifications.
- Choose Weissach if rear seats are expendable and the additional aero, weight reduction and higher Porsche-listed track speed matter more than passenger capacity.
- Do not choose Weissach for a proven 0–60 mph test advantage: Car and Driver recorded the same 1.9-second time for both configurations.
The essential distinction is practical as much as technical: Weissach is still a four-door sedan, but it gives up the rear seats in pursuit of track focus. The extraordinary power headline also needs its time limit attached—the 1,108 PS figure is a brief peak, not the car’s everyday continuous rating.
