The 2025 Nissan Murano makes its case with a comfort-focused cabin, extensive available technology and a new 241-hp turbocharged engine. But Nissan’s specifications and equipment list can explain what the redesigned SUV offers—not how it rides or drives. This look at the Murano’s “friendly confines” is therefore about its stated features, powertrain and trim choices, rather than unsupported road-test impressions.
What changed for the 2025 Murano?
Nissan redesigned the Murano around a 2.0-liter variable-compression turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The company rates the engine at 241 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 260 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. The transmission includes paddle shifters, according to Nissan. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent performance measurements.
Nissan also lists frequency-sensitive dampers and electric power steering. Those design details do not, on their own, establish ride comfort or handling quality. No independent road-test evidence is available here to support claims about acceleration, cabin quietness, ride or space.
How do the Murano trims and launch prices compare?

What comfort and cabin technology is available?
Nissan’s launch materials describe several comfort features as available, rather than standard on every Murano. Depending on trim and equipment, the list includes heated, ventilated and massaging front seats, heated rear seats, a panoramic moonroof and 64-color ambient lighting. Nissan also lists a Bose 10-speaker audio system on higher grades.

Google built-in is available through the 12.3-inch touchscreen. Nissan says it provides access to Google Maps and more than 100 available apps. Check the particular vehicle’s equipment listing to verify which features are included; the broad availability claims do not mean every trim has them.
What driver-assistance and camera features does Nissan list?
Nissan says Safety Shield 360 is standard. The company’s press materials describe ProPILOT Assist on SV and ProPILOT Assist 1.1 on SL and Platinum; Nissan says version 1.1 uses navigation data to adjust speed ahead of curves. These are manufacturer descriptions of system capability, not a guarantee of performance in every driving situation.

What are the Murano’s towing and drivetrain details?
Nissan gives the 2025 Murano a maximum towing rating of 1,500 pounds. That figure is the manufacturer’s stated maximum; it does not establish the rating for a particular vehicle, trailer or setup. Consult the owner’s manual and confirm the vehicle’s equipment and applicable limits before towing.

SV is the only listed trim offered with a choice of FWD or AWD. SL and Platinum come with AWD standard. If drivetrain choice matters to your purchase, check the vehicle’s exact configuration rather than relying on its trim name alone.

The cabin equipment gives the Murano a clear comfort-focused pitch, but equipment descriptions cannot answer the central first-drive question: how comfortable it actually feels in motion. Nissan’s references to dampers, power steering and premium cabin features are not substitutes for independent driving impressions. Without a road test, it would be misleading to claim the SUV rides quietly, accelerates briskly, handles well or feels spacious.

For now, the useful buying distinction is between what can be checked on a specification sheet—engine rating, drivetrain, safety equipment and available cabin features—and what requires time behind the wheel. A test drive in the trim and configuration you plan to buy is the way to judge ride comfort, visibility, controls and seat comfort for yourself.
