The range also includes the Club, Grand Touring, RF retractable-fastback, and a limited 35th Anniversary Edition priced from $36,250 before destination, taxes, title, dealer fees, and any dealer markup.
The anniversary model is more than a cosmetic package: it combines exclusive Artisan Red Metallic paint and tan trim with Grand Touring-style equipment, Club-related chassis hardware, and a manual-only soft-top configuration. Mazda initially announced 300 U.S. examples, then said it secured 50 additional cars, bringing the overall U.S. production commitment to 350. Mazda’s current newsroom page has also continued to describe the model as limited to 300 units, so buyers should treat the production figure as a disclosed discrepancy rather than assume one number is definitive.

2025 MX-5 Miata U.S. pricing at a glance
The following are Mazda’s December 5, 2024 launch MSRPs for the regular 2025 MX-5 Miata lineup. They are U.S. starting prices and exclude destination and handling, taxes, title, registration, dealer fees, and dealer-set pricing. Mazda later announced a $300 increase effective September 3, 2025, applying to select 2025 MX-5 and MX-5 RF models. The launch figures should therefore be read as dated historical pricing, not as a guarantee of what a dealer will currently quote.

Mazda’s regular-model pricing announcement is available in its 2025 MX-5 Miata pricing and packaging release. Because Mazda’s current comparison pages also surface later model-year information, use the dated release when evaluating 2025 prices rather than assuming a current website configuration is a 2025 price list.

How much is the 2025 MX-5 Miata 35th Anniversary Edition?
The 2025 MX-5 Miata 35th Anniversary Edition starts at $36,250 for a soft-top roadster with a six-speed manual transmission.
- Contiguous U.S. destination and handling: $1,185
- Alaska destination and handling: $1,230
- Price before destination in the contiguous U.S.: $36,250
- Price including the stated contiguous-U.S. destination charge: $37,435, before taxes, title, fees, and dealer pricing
The $36,250 figure is not an out-the-door price. It does not include sales tax, title and registration, documentation or other dealer fees, accessories, financing costs, or a dealer markup. Mazda’s January 24, 2025 announcement gives the anniversary model’s pricing and equipment details.
What is included in the 35th Anniversary Edition?
The special edition is best understood as a highly constrained, appearance-focused and equipment-rich version of the soft-top Miata—not as a higher-output performance variant. Mazda’s official materials do not identify a different engine or a different output figure for it.

- 35th Anniversary logos embossed into the seat headrests
- Exterior-color-matched trim around the air vents and upper door panels

The color and serialized badging create the collector appeal, while the tan leather and matching trim give the edition a distinct cabin rather than simply adding an exterior decal package.
Comfort and technology equipment
Mazda lists the following equipment for the 35th Anniversary Edition:
- Heated seats
- Bose audio
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Alexa Built-in
- Navigation
- 8.8-inch Mazda Connect display
Chassis and driving hardware
The anniversary model also includes equipment associated with the sportier Club and manual Grand Touring configurations:
- Sport-tuned Bilstein dampers
- Front shock-tower bracing
- An asymmetric conical clutch-type limited-slip differential
For context, Mazda describes the Club as adding Bilstein dampers, a front shock-tower brace, an induction sound enhancer, the asymmetric limited-slip differential, and DSC-Track mode. Mazda also says the manual Grand Touring receives the brace, induction sound enhancer, Bilstein suspension, DSC-Track mode, and asymmetric limited-slip differential. The anniversary announcement specifically lists the limited-slip differential, bracing, and Bilstein dampers for the special edition.

1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsWhat the 35th Anniversary Edition does not offer
The U.S.-specification anniversary car has a deliberately narrow configuration:
- Soft top only
- Six-speed manual only
- No RF retractable-fastback version
- No automatic-transmission version described in Mazda’s U.S. announcement
That matters when comparing its price with the regular Grand Touring. A buyer who wants the RF roof or an automatic transmission cannot simply order those features on the anniversary model. The choice is not only between a standard Miata and a special edition; it is also between a limited, fixed configuration and the more flexible regular lineup.
Powertrain: the same 181-hp 2.0-liter engine
Every U.S.-market 2025 MX-5 Miata uses Mazda’s 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder engine. Mazda lists:
- 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm
- 151 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm
- 7,500-rpm redline
The anniversary edition does not receive a separately claimed engine output. Its distinction comes from its specification, appearance, equipment, and limited availability—not from a more powerful engine.

The 2025 owner’s manual identifies the displacement as 1,997.6 cc. It also lists approximately 4.5 U.S. quarts of engine oil when replacing the filter, a 46B24L(S) 12-volt battery, and Mazda Genuine PE5R-18-110-A spark plugs. These service specifications are for the referenced U.S. manual and should not automatically be applied to every market or regional vehicle. Consult the 2025 MX-5 owner’s manual and verify fitment before ordering maintenance parts.
Soft top versus RF: the most important lineup decision
The regular 2025 MX-5 is sold in two basic body styles. The conventional soft top is the lighter, traditional roadster choice and is available in Sport, Club, and Grand Touring forms in the cited U.S. lineup. The RF uses a retractable fastback roof and is offered in Club and Grand Touring configurations.
Mazda says the RF roof can open or close in approximately 13 seconds with the press of a button. It provides a different visual character and roof mechanism, but it is not available as a 35th Anniversary Edition. Someone attracted to the anniversary car’s Artisan Red paint, tan interior, and serialized identity must accept the soft-top/manual configuration.

2025 trim comparison: Sport, Club, Grand Touring, or 35th Anniversary?
Sport: the lowest-cost route into the Miata
At its $29,530 launch MSRP, the soft-top Sport is the entry point. It is manual-only in the 2025 U.S. lineup. It is the straightforward choice for a buyer prioritizing the basic lightweight roadster formula and the lowest starting price.
Recommended Free Tools
Club: the handling-focused regular trim
The soft-top Club starts at $33,030, while the manual RF Club starts at $40,850. The Club adds the mechanical equipment most relevant to an enthusiast buyer: sport-tuned Bilstein dampers, front shock-tower bracing, an induction sound enhancer, an asymmetric conical clutch-type limited-slip differential, and DSC-Track mode.
The Brembo/BBS/Recaro package is listed at $4,900 for the soft-top Club. Mazda lists it as included on the RF Club. Buyers should verify the exact equipment and price on the vehicle’s window sticker because model-year availability and dealer inventory can affect what is actually offered.
Grand Touring: more equipment and broader transmission choice
The Grand Touring is the only regular 2025 trim in the cited lineup offered with either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic. Launch pricing is $34,830 for the manual soft top, $37,550 for the manual RF, $35,750 for the automatic soft top, and $38,520 for the automatic RF.
The manual Grand Touring is particularly relevant to the anniversary comparison because Mazda says it receives several of the same chassis features associated with the Club, including Bilstein dampers, shock-tower bracing, DSC-Track mode, an induction sound enhancer, and the asymmetric limited-slip differential. The Grand Touring also emphasizes comfort and technology, with features such as heated seats, Bose audio, navigation, and smartphone connectivity. Tan Nappa leather is listed as a $300 Grand Touring option.
35th Anniversary Edition: exclusivity plus bundled equipment
The anniversary model costs $36,250 at launch—$1,420 more than the $34,830 launch MSRP of a manual soft-top Grand Touring. That difference does not represent a new engine. It pays for the special paint, beige roof, unique wheels and spoiler, serialized badging, tan Nappa interior, anniversary details, and the limited-production identity, while retaining a substantial equipment package.
Whether it is the better buy depends on the buyer’s goal:
- Choose Sport if the lowest entry price matters most.
- Choose Club if the priority is enthusiast-oriented chassis hardware at a lower price than the special edition.
- Choose Grand Touring if you want more comfort and technology, an RF body style, or an automatic transmission.
- Choose the 35th Anniversary Edition if the exclusive color, interior, serialized identity, manual soft top, and limited availability are worth the premium to you.
How limited is the 35th Anniversary Edition?
Mazda’s initial January 24, 2025 announcement said that 300 examples would be available in the United States. The same announcement then explained that customer demand and pre-order reservations led Mazda North American Operations to secure 50 additional examples, increasing the overall U.S. production commitment to 350 vehicles.
There is an important documentation nuance: Mazda’s current 35th Anniversary newsroom page continues to describe the car as limited to 300 units in the United States. The most accurate wording is therefore that Mazda initially planned 300 U.S.-available examples and later announced an increase to 350 overall U.S. production. Do not reduce the story to an unsupported claim that it was definitively a 300-car U.S. model.

A car’s market price depends on condition, mileage, documentation, buyer demand, dealer behavior, and broader collector interest. Mazda’s releases do not establish a guaranteed premium or a particular resale outcome.
Availability and what buyers should verify
Mazda directed interested customers to a local Mazda dealer or MazdaUSA.com. The announcement does not establish that new inventory remains available at a specific date, nor does it guarantee that a dealer will sell at MSRP.
Before traveling or placing a deposit, ask the dealer to confirm:
- The vehicle identification number and exact model designation.
- Whether the car is a 35th Anniversary Edition rather than a regular Grand Touring with similar equipment.
- The serialized anniversary badging and the Artisan Red Metallic paint.
- The presence of the beige soft top, tan Nappa interior, and anniversary headrest logos.
- The window-sticker MSRP, destination charge, accessories, documentation fees, and any market adjustment.
- Whether the quoted car is physically in stock, in transit, reserved, or merely listed in an inventory system.
- The deposit’s refundability and the terms for canceling a reservation.
For a regular 2025 Miata, also verify whether the listing reflects launch pricing or Mazda’s later $300 MSRP adjustment effective September 3, 2025. The exact revised price depends on which models were covered by the adjustment; do not add $300 indiscriminately to every configuration without checking the applicable window sticker or Mazda documentation.

Ownership accessories worth considering
A limited soft-top roadster may benefit from careful storage and exterior protection, particularly if it will be driven seasonally or kept in a garage. A Mazda MX-5 Miata car cover can be a sensible accessory, but buyers should confirm the model year, soft-top-versus-RF body style, exterior dimensions, antenna and mirror clearance, and whether the cover is intended for indoor or outdoor use. A cover designed for an RF should not be assumed to fit the soft-top anniversary car correctly.
Mazda includes a distinctive leather-wrapped key-fob sleeve with the 35th Anniversary Edition. Owners of that model—or owners of other MX-5s who want additional protection—may also consider a Mazda MX-5 Miata key-fob cover. An aftermarket cover is not the same item as Mazda’s included anniversary sleeve, and compatibility should be checked by key shape and model year before purchase.
DIY owners may also look for a 2025 Mazda MX-5 maintenance supply, such as the specified spark plug or oil-service materials. Verify the part number, vehicle market, engine specification, and supplier authenticity against the owner’s manual or with a Mazda dealer. The manual’s battery and maintenance specifications can vary by country or region, so a generic “Miata-compatible” label is not enough by itself.
Why the anniversary matters in Miata history
The 35th Anniversary Edition marks 35 years of the MX-5’s U.S. roadster history. Mazda’s heritage material traces the model through four generations: the NA, which arrived in the U.S. in 1990; the NB; the NC; and the ND fourth generation, which began in 2016. Mazda identifies the RF retractable-fastback body style as arriving in 2017.
Mazda also says that more than one million people worldwide have discovered the MX-5. That is Mazda’s own corporate statement, but it explains why a tightly specified anniversary edition can have significance beyond its equipment list: it connects a current ND-generation car with a long-running lightweight sports-car lineage.
Bottom-line buying advice
The 2025 MX-5 Miata remains a trim-and-configuration decision more than a power-output decision. The Sport offers the lowest launch price, the Club concentrates on chassis hardware, the Grand Touring adds comfort and technology while offering the lineup’s automatic-transmission choice, and the RF changes the roof and body-style experience.
The 35th Anniversary Edition is aimed at a different buyer. It bundles much of the equipment a well-equipped manual Miata buyer may want, but its main advantages are Artisan Red Metallic paint, the beige soft top, tan Nappa interior, serialized details, and limited availability. It is not faster on paper than the other 2025 models, it cannot be ordered as an RF or automatic, and its real-world availability and transaction price must be verified with dealers.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the starting price of the 2025 Mazda MX-5 Miata?
Mazda’s December 2024 U.S. launch pricing starts at $29,530 for a soft-top MX-5 Miata Sport with a six-speed manual transmission. The price excludes destination, taxes, title, dealer fees, and dealer-set pricing. Mazda later announced a $300 increase effective September 3, 2025 for select 2025 MX-5 and MX-5 RF models.
How much does the 2025 MX-5 Miata 35th Anniversary Edition cost?
The soft-top, six-speed-manual 2025 MX-5 Miata 35th Anniversary Edition starts at $36,250 before destination, taxes, title, and fees. Mazda listed destination and handling at $1,185 in the contiguous U.S. and $1,230 in Alaska.
Is the 2025 Miata 35th Anniversary Edition available with an automatic transmission?
No automatic version is described in Mazda’s U.S. announcement. The 35th Anniversary Edition is offered as a soft-top roadster with a six-speed manual transmission.
Is the 35th Anniversary Edition an RF?
No. The U.S.-specification 35th Anniversary Edition is soft-top only. The regular 2025 lineup offers the RF in Club and Grand Touring configurations.
How many 2025 Miata 35th Anniversary Editions were made for the U.S.?
Mazda initially described 300 U.S.-available examples, then announced that it secured 50 additional examples because of demand and pre-order reservations, bringing the overall U.S. production commitment to 350. Mazda’s current newsroom page has also described the model as limited to 300 U.S. units, so buyers should acknowledge both statements.
Does the 35th Anniversary Edition have a more powerful engine?
No different output is claimed in Mazda’s official U.S. materials. Like other 2025 MX-5 Miatas, it uses a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G four-cylinder rated at 181 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque.
The Bottom Line
The 2025 MX-5 Miata 35th Anniversary Edition starts at $36,250 before destination and fees, and its appeal is its constrained manual-soft-top specification, exclusive Artisan Red-and-tan presentation, bundled equipment, and limited-production status—not extra engine power. Use dated launch MSRPs for historical comparison, account for Mazda’s later $300 adjustment on select regular models, and verify current inventory and dealer pricing directly.
