Indian’s listed MSRP excludes destination and handling, tax, title, license, and registration; the manufacturer says dealer prices may vary. Harley-Davidson lists a starting price with a plus sign and directs shoppers to dealer pricing tools. Price and engine figures: what they do and don’t tell you
The Indian’s listed starting MSRP is $6,500 below Harley-Davidson’s listed starting figure. Indian publishes 105 hp and 82 ft-lb of peak torque; Harley publishes 98 hp and 120 ft-lb. Those figures come from the manufacturers, not a shared comparative test. They indicate different published power and torque figures, but they do not by themselves predict acceleration, passing ability, or how either motorcycle will feel on the road.

Indian Super Scout
Indian describes the Super Scout as equipped for two-up riding, with a passenger pillion, passenger pegs, and touring saddlebags. Confirm the equipment on the specific trim and market you are considering.
Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic
Harley-Davidson highlights lockable, weather-resistant saddlebags and a detachable windshield, and publishes 1.6 cubic feet of luggage capacity. The available official material does not establish a comparable luggage-volume figure for the Indian, so a capacity comparison cannot be made from these listings alone.

Fuel capacity, economy, and planning stops
The Heritage Classic has a listed 5-gallon tank and estimated fuel economy of 47 mpg city/highway. The Super Scout has a listed 3.4-gallon tank, but the available official Indian material does not provide a comparable fuel-economy figure. Tank size alone is not enough to give a dependable range: real-world economy and usable fuel capacity matter, and there is no matched range test here.
Rider aids and safety equipment
Harley-Davidson lists selectable Road, Rain, and Sport ride modes, cruise control, traction control, ABS, a tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and cornering-enhanced safety systems. The available Indian material confirms ABS in the standard-trim description but does not support a complete, like-for-like inventory of its electronics. Check the current equipment list for the exact trim and market before treating any feature as included.

Weight, seat height, and fit
Indian lists 571 lb dry; Harley-Davidson lists 728 lb in running order. Because dry and running-order weights use different measurement bases, those figures do not establish an exact in-use weight difference. The seat-height listings also use different conditions: 25.9 inches for the Indian standard listing and 26.3 inches for the Harley laden. Neither pair of numbers replaces sitting on the bikes and checking how each feels when stopped, backing up, and maneuvering at low speed. Arrange an in-person fit check and test ride if possible.
