If you are searching for a 2025 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid, there is an important correction: Hyundai did not sell one in the United States. The 2025 Palisade was a carry-over model powered exclusively by a 3.8-liter V6. The Palisade hybrid arrived with the all-new 2026 model year.

Front-wheel-drive versions were rated at 19 mpg city, 26 mpg highway, and 22 mpg combined. Models equipped with Hyundai’s HTRAC all-wheel-drive system were rated at 19/24/21 mpg city/highway/combined. The 2025 Palisade started at $37,200 for the SE FWD, before freight, tax, title, and license charges.

Hyundai described the 2025 Palisade as a carry-over model, not as a hybrid introduction or a major redesign. Consequently, there is no 2025 Palisade Hybrid battery, electric-only range, hybrid trim walk, or hybrid EPA rating to report for the U.S. market.
When did the Palisade hybrid arrive?
The hybrid debuted with the all-new 2026 Hyundai Palisade. Hyundai announced the redesigned SUV in April 2025 and said gasoline versions would reach dealers in early summer, followed by hybrid models in early fall. Hyundai called it the Palisade’s first-ever hybrid powertrain.

The production U.S. hybrid uses a very different engine from the 2025 Palisade:
- Engine: 2.5-liter turbocharged GDI four-cylinder
- Transmission: six-speed automatic with electric motors integrated into the transmission
- Combined output: 329 horsepower
- Combined torque: 339 lb-ft
- Battery: 1.65-kWh lithium-ion pack
- Battery power output: 64 kW
- Electric motor output: up to 72 hp and 195 lb-ft
Some Hyundai global materials quote 334 PS for the 2.5-liter turbo hybrid. That is not the U.S. specification to use in a buyer’s guide. Hyundai USA lists 329 hp combined; the PS figure uses a different rating convention.
Is the Palisade Hybrid a plug-in hybrid?
No. The U.S. Palisade Hybrid is a conventional, self-charging hybrid. Hyundai’s U.S. specifications list the 1.65-kWh battery but do not provide an external charging system or an electric-only range rating. Owners do not plug it into a wall charger; the hybrid system manages battery charging through the vehicle’s engine and regenerative braking.

Hyundai estimates up to 619 miles of driving range for the Blue SEL Premium FWD, using its 18.2-gallon fuel tank and 34-mpg combined EPA rating. That is a calculated estimate, not a guaranteed distance between fill-ups. Cold weather, cargo, passengers, speed, tire pressure, terrain, driving style, and vehicle condition can all reduce real-world range.
The ratings also show why trim and drivetrain matter. Choosing AWD lowers the combined rating from as high as 34 mpg to 29 mpg. Moving from the lower Blue SEL versions to the heavier, more heavily equipped Limited or Calligraphy also reduces the FWD rating to 31 mpg combined.
2026 Palisade Hybrid trims and prices
Hyundai USA currently lists four Palisade Hybrid trim levels. These starting prices exclude freight, tax, title, and license fees.

Hyundai’s earlier July 2025 launch announcement quoted a $43,660 starting price. The current Hyundai USA model pages list $44,160 for the base hybrid, so that is the more relevant figure for a present-day shopping decision. Dealer pricing, destination charges, incentives, and availability can still change the amount paid.
Which Palisade Hybrid trims have AWD?
Front-wheel drive is available on the Blue SEL, Blue SEL Premium, Limited, and Calligraphy configurations. HTRAC AWD is standard on the SEL and SEL Premium and available on the Limited and Calligraphy. Buyers should check the specific window sticker because equipment and drivetrain combinations can vary by configuration.

For fuel economy, the FWD Blue SEL is the clear choice. For snow, steep roads, or frequent foul-weather driving, AWD may be worth the efficiency penalty.
Towing capacity: 4,000 pounds, not 5,000
The 2026 Palisade Hybrid can tow up to 4,000 pounds, depending on configuration and when equipped with the required towing equipment. The nonhybrid 2026 Palisade can tow up to 5,000 pounds.
The 5,000-pound figure should not be attached to the 2025 Palisade Hybrid. No such 2025 hybrid existed. The 2025 gasoline Palisade’s V6 and the later 2026 hybrid are separate powertrain configurations, and their towing ratings should not be combined.

Hybrid-specific and redesigned Palisade features
The hybrid includes a Stay Mode function that monitors the battery system while the vehicle is parked and permits extended use of functions such as the infotainment system and HVAC. That can be useful when occupants need climate control or entertainment without treating the vehicle like a conventional idling SUV.
The 2026-generation Palisade also introduced or made available several technology and comfort features:

- Check the model year. A genuine U.S. Palisade hybrid begins with the 2026 model year.
- Check the engine. A 2025 Palisade has the 3.8-liter V6. The hybrid uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder.
- Check the transmission. The 2025 gasoline model uses an eight-speed automatic; the 2026 hybrid uses a six-speed automatic with integrated electric motors.
