For the U.S.-market 2025 Civic Si, Honda lists a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder producing 200 hp at 6,000 rpm and 192 lb-ft of torque from 1,800 to 5,000 rpm. Those are the manufacturer’s rated figures, not independent dynamometer results. Honda’s specifications put the torque peak across a broad part of the rev range, but the headline output remains restrained for a performance-oriented compact sedan.
Car and Driver says the Si does not have the horsepower of key rivals. Its own test reached 60 mph in 6.6 seconds; that is an outlet-specific result, not a Honda rating or a guarantee for every car and set of conditions. Car and Driver’s Civic Si coverage does not establish a matched test comparison with those rivals here, so the figure should not be treated as a definitive ranking.
What makes the Si engaging despite its output?

Honda describes the differential’s purpose this way: “To maximize available traction during acceleration, the engine’s 200-horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. of torque is routed to the front wheels through a standard helical limited-slip differential.” The statement appears in Honda’s 2025 Civic Si announcement; it is the company’s explanation, not an independent traction test.
What changed for the 2025 model year?
Honda says it retuned the suspension dampers to match increased body stiffness. The company also expanded rev matching to downshifts from second gear to first and claims a 430-millisecond response time for the system. New heated front seats are included, and sticky summer tires became available as a factory option. These are Honda’s descriptions of the model-year updates.
The specification sheet lists P235/40 R18 all-season tires. Honda’s announcement confirms the summer-tire option but does not identify its brand or model in the cited material. Anyone shopping for replacement 235/40R18 summer performance tires should verify the exact vehicle fitment, load rating and suitability for local conditions rather than assuming every tire in that size is appropriate.

Is the Civic Si practical enough for daily driving?
Honda’s U.S. specification gives the 2025 Si EPA comparison ratings of 27 mpg city, 37 mpg highway and 31 mpg combined. Those ratings help compare vehicles; actual fuel consumption varies with driving style, traffic, weather and other conditions. Heated front seats add a useful cold-weather comfort feature, while the manual transmission is a defining part of the Si experience and a consideration for buyers who prefer an automatic.
