Short answer: The 2025 Harley-Davidson Grand American Touring range includes eight very different motorcycles, from the traditional, fairing-free Road King Special to the track-influenced CVO Road Glide RR. Prices begin at $24,999 for the Road King Special and rise to $45,999 for the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide, while the RR has no starting price shown in Harley-Davidson’s captured U.S. lineup data.

The biggest buying decisions are not simply about horsepower. They are about fairing design, passenger equipment, electronic technology, engine output, suspension, price, and whether the motorcycle will be used for relaxed two-up travel or aggressive solo riding. This guide covers the 2025 Grand American Touring lineup as Harley-Davidson defines it in the United States.

Important date note: The 2025 motorcycles are a previous model year rather than the current lineup in the research snapshot dated August 12, 2026. Dealer availability and final transaction prices may therefore differ substantially from the original MSRPs.

Model Starting MSRP Engine and listed output Best understood as
Road King Special $24,999 Milwaukee-Eight 114; 122 lb-ft, 95 hp Traditional, minimally equipped bagger
Street Glide $27,749 Milwaukee-Eight 117; 130 lb-ft Batwing-fairing touring motorcycle
Road Glide $27,999 Milwaukee-Eight 117; 130 lb-ft Frame-mounted sharknose-fairing bagger
Street Glide Ultra $30,749 Milwaukee-Eight 117; 130 lb-ft Factory-equipped two-up and long-distance tourer
CVO Street Glide $45,999 Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121; 139 lb-ft, 115 hp Premium batwing-fairing touring model
CVO Road Glide $45,999 Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121; 139 lb-ft, 115 hp Premium frame-mounted-fairing touring model
CVO Road Glide ST $44,999 Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output; 145 lb-ft, 127 hp Performance-focused limited-production Road Glide
CVO Road Glide RR Not shown in the captured index Screamin’ Eagle 131; 150 lb-ft, 153 hp Rare, race-influenced street-legal flagship

Every listed MSRP is a starting U.S. price before applicable taxes, title and registration costs, destination charges, dealer fees, accessories, and paint or configuration differences. The 2025 Harley-Davidson model index does not provide a captured starting price for the CVO Road Glide RR, so it should not be assigned an estimated MSRP.

1. “Touring” covers eight very different motorcycles

In this article, “touring” means Harley-Davidson’s 2025 Grand American Touring category. It does not include the brand’s separate Adventure Touring, Trike, Cruiser, or Sport categories.

That distinction matters because the category is not a single, uniform motorcycle family. The Road King Special has no fixed fairing and uses a more traditional layout. The Street Glide and Road Glide are the core modern baggers. The Street Glide Ultra adds equipment aimed at extended two-up travel. The CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide combine the standard models’ basic missions with more expensive finishes and higher-output powertrains. The CVO Road Glide ST and RR are performance outliers rather than straightforward luxury touring upgrades.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. The price spread is more than $20,000 before options

The Road King Special is the entry point at a listed $24,999. The Street Glide and Road Glide are close together at $27,749 and $27,999, respectively, while the Street Glide Ultra begins at $30,749. The CVO Road Glide ST is listed at $44,999, and both the CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide start at $45,999.

That gap is not explained by paint alone. Moving from a standard Street Glide or Road Glide to a CVO model brings a VVT 121 engine, premium paint and finishes, cast wheels, Brembo components, upgraded audio, and other factory-installed equipment. The buyer is paying for a complete premium specification rather than merely choosing a more elaborate color.

For a used or leftover 2025 motorcycle, the original MSRP is only a reference point. A dealer’s current inventory, freight and setup charges, accessories, discounts, financing, and regional taxes can change the amount actually paid. Ask for an itemized out-the-door quote and confirm which accessories are installed before comparing offers.

3. Each model answers a different riding question

The most useful way to narrow the range is to identify the riding mission first:

  • IMPROVED WEATHER PROTECTION: Ideal for effectively protect your motorcycle from dust, dirt, sun UV rays, snow, rain, bird droppings and other damages.
  • Traditional appearance and simpler equipment: The Road King Special is the logical starting point. It has no fixed fairing, mini-ape handlebars, stretched saddlebags, and a blacked-out Milwaukee-Eight 114.
  • Classic batwing-fairing bagger: The Street Glide is the standard choice for riders who specifically want Harley-Davidson’s batwing-style fairing and cockpit.
  • Frame-mounted fairing: The Road Glide uses the sharknose fairing attached to the frame rather than the fork. That produces a distinctly different cockpit and wind-management experience.
  • Passenger-focused highway travel: The Street Glide Ultra is the clearest stock two-up touring choice because its equipment list emphasizes passenger comfort, luggage-oriented travel, weather management, and long-distance convenience.
  • Premium factory customization: The CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide target buyers who want higher-output performance and premium components already installed at the factory.
  • Sharper solo performance: The CVO Road Glide ST prioritizes adjustable suspension, braking, engine output, and riding modes over a relaxed touring brief.
  • Specialized performance flagship: The CVO Road Glide RR is best viewed as an enthusiast or collectible-style machine with street legality, not as the default choice for carrying a passenger across the country.

4. Engine choice is one of the clearest separators

Harley-Davidson uses several different Milwaukee-Eight specifications across the range:

  • The Road King Special’s Milwaukee-Eight 114 is listed at 122 lb-ft of torque and 95 horsepower.
  • The standard Street Glide and Road Glide use a liquid-cooled-cylinder-head Milwaukee-Eight 117 producing 130 lb-ft of torque.
  • The CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide use the Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121, rated by Harley-Davidson at 139 lb-ft and 115 horsepower.
  • The CVO Road Glide ST uses a 121 High Output engine listed at 145 lb-ft and 127 horsepower.
  • The CVO Road Glide RR uses a Screamin’ Eagle 131 powertrain listed at 150 lb-ft, 153 horsepower, and a 6,500-rpm redline.

These numbers establish the factory hierarchy, but they do not predict the entire riding experience. Power delivery, gearing, vehicle weight, chassis setup, rider position, wind protection, and throttle calibration all matter. Do not treat Harley-Davidson’s advertised figures as independently tested results.

The important takeaway is that the Road King Special is not simply a stripped-down version of the 117-powered Street Glide or Road Glide. It uses a different engine specification and a different overall mission. Likewise, the ST and RR are not merely CVO touring bikes with extra paint; their engines and chassis equipment move them toward performance riding.

5. Street Glide versus Road Glide is mainly a fairing and cockpit decision

The Street Glide uses Harley-Davidson’s familiar batwing-style fairing. The Road Glide uses a frame-mounted sharknose fairing. That is the central difference to investigate before comparing trim levels.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Both standard models receive Harley-Davidson’s redesigned touring platform, Milwaukee-Eight 117 power, a 12.3-inch Skyline OS display, selectable ride modes, and rider-safety technology. Neither should automatically be described as the “better” performer based solely on its name. The choice is more personal: one rider may prefer the Street Glide’s classic cockpit and styling, while another may prefer the Road Glide’s frame-mounted fairing and its different relationship to steering and wind protection.

Photographs cannot fully settle that question. If possible, sit on both motorcycles with the windshield and mirrors adjusted, check whether the fairing interferes with your preferred line of sight, and evaluate how the handlebars, controls, and lower-body wind reach you. A Harley-Davidson touring motorcycle rental, where available, can also be a useful try-before-buy option, but verify the location, model, date, insurance requirements, and total price before relying on it.

6. The Street Glide Ultra is the strongest stock two-up choice

Harley-Davidson describes the Street Glide Ultra as its most capable two-up touring motorcycle. Its equipment supports that positioning:

  • Details Improvement: Adjustable elastic band is added to the whole circle of the bottom of the motorcycle cover, with an adjustable windproof buckle in the center, which can be adjusted to make the cover and the motorcycle tighter. In addition, the front section of the cover has an ABS lock hole.

  • Redesigned seat
  • 12.3-inch Skyline OS infotainment system
  • Embedded navigation and Apple CarPlay
  • 200-watt audio system
  • Cornering ABS, traction control, and Vehicle Hold Control

That equipment makes the Ultra a more sensible starting point for riders who regularly carry a passenger or plan long highway days without immediately adding comfort and touring accessories. It is still important to verify the exact passenger backrest, luggage, seat, and color configuration on an individual motorcycle, especially when looking at dealer inventory or used examples.

The Ultra should not be treated as just a Street Glide with a larger price tag. Its factory comfort and aerodynamic equipment can reduce the number of additions needed for a two-up travel setup, which may narrow the real-world price difference after accessories are considered.

7. Skyline OS is a defining 2025 technology change

The 2025 Street Glide, Road Glide, Street Glide Ultra, and CVO touring models use Harley-Davidson’s 12.3-inch TFT touchscreen with Skyline OS. The system brings infotainment and navigation functions into a much more prominent central display than older touring layouts.

Depending on the model, the system can include embedded navigation, Apple CarPlay, voice recognition, selectable ride modes, and Vehicle Hold Control. The Street Glide Ultra’s listing specifically identifies those functions along with its 200-watt audio system.

Do not assume that every 2025 Touring motorcycle has identical electronics. The Road King Special is positioned as the least electronically elaborate model in the range, and audio, comfort, suspension, luggage, and passenger equipment vary by model and configuration. Before buying, ask the seller to demonstrate the actual motorcycle’s display, phone connection, navigation, audio controls, and available ride modes rather than relying on a generic model-family description.

8. CVO means premium factory customization, not just premium paint

Harley-Davidson’s CVO, or Custom Vehicle Operations, line is its premium factory-custom program. On the 2025 CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide, the upgrade is a package of performance, finish, and equipment changes:

  • Milwaukee-Eight VVT 121 engine
  • Premium paint and upgraded finishes
  • Cast wheels
  • Brembo braking components
  • Aero Comfort development
  • Selectable ride modes
  • Skyline OS infotainment
  • Rockford Fosgate Stage II audio

The CVO Street Glide retains the batwing-fairing concept, while the CVO Road Glide uses the frame-mounted sharknose design. The engine and equipment upgrade explains why the CVO models begin near $46,000 rather than just above the standard models’ prices.

  • Choose the Motorcycle Cover size more about 10-20cm than the car actual length.
  • Dimension :116.1" x 43.3" x 55.1"(L*W*H), Size XXXL

A CVO can make sense when the buyer values factory integration, exclusive finishes, premium audio, and avoiding a long list of aftermarket modifications. It makes less sense if the primary goal is to obtain a basic touring platform and customize it gradually at the lowest initial cost. Compare the price of the exact standard bike plus the accessories you genuinely intend to add; the answer will depend on your build, not just the badge.

9. The CVO Road Glide ST and RR are performance specialists

CVO Road Glide ST

The CVO Road Glide ST is a limited-production performance model with a Milwaukee-Eight 121 High Output engine, fully adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes, titanium mufflers, mini floorboards, and an eight-mode ride-mode package.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Harley-Davidson identifies Track and Track+ modes as intended for closed-course riding and race use. They should not be presented as ordinary public-road features, and their presence does not mean the motorcycle has been independently tested on a circuit by this publication. The ST is still a Road Glide-based motorcycle, but its equipment and priorities make it materially more performance-oriented than a conventional long-distance bagger.

CVO Road Glide RR

The CVO Road Glide RR is even more specialized. Harley-Davidson describes it as street-legal and lists the following race-influenced equipment:

  • Screamin’ Eagle 131 powertrain
  • 68-mm throttle body
  • Race-inspired intake hardware
  • Akrapovič full titanium exhaust
  • Öhlins suspension
  • Billet-aluminum mid controls
  • Solo seat using a Saddlemen-developed racing design
  • Track-oriented riding modes

Its listed output is 153 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque, with a 6,500-rpm redline. Those figures, the solo seat, and the track-oriented chassis equipment explain why the RR should not be confused with a conventional passenger-oriented touring motorcycle. It may appeal to a collector or enthusiast who wants an unusually powerful, race-influenced Harley-Davidson with road legality, but it is a poor default recommendation for relaxed two-up interstate travel.

10. Storage and maintenance accessories require exact fitment

Touring motorcycles create practical ownership needs beyond the motorcycle itself. Covers, charging equipment, passenger accessories, and supplemental luggage all need to match the model, year, luggage configuration, and sometimes the exact factory or accessory mounting hardware.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Cover selection

Harley-Davidson’s compact travel cover is listed for 2014-and-later Touring models, subject to the manufacturer’s exclusions, and is recommended for motorcycles equipped with Tour-Pak luggage. Harley-Davidson also offers an indoor/outdoor cover for Touring models, but warns that its covers are not designed for use while trailering. Check the official cover fitment information before ordering.

  • Intimate Design: ①The surrounding reflective strip is practical and beautiful ②Holes are reserved for the rear antenna ③A storage bag is included.

If you shop outside the factory catalog, compare a motorcycle cover for Harley-Davidson Touring bikes only after measuring the motorcycle and confirming whether it has stretched saddlebags, a Tour-Pak, a luggage rack, antennas, or other accessories. A cover that fits a bare Road Glide may not fit the same bike with touring luggage installed. Never interpret a general “large motorcycle” label as proof of fitment.

Battery storage

A motorcycle battery tender can be useful when a Touring bike will sit between rides or through winter. Confirm the connector, battery chemistry, voltage, and charger specifications before purchase, and use the motorcycle manufacturer’s charging instructions. The presence of a battery tender lead does not by itself prove that every charger or connector is compatible.

For that reason, choose a motorcycle battery tender by verified electrical compatibility rather than by brand name alone. Keep the charging device dry, route the lead so it cannot be pinched, and inspect the battery and wiring before connecting it.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Extra luggage

A factory Tour-Pak, an accessory Tour-Pak, and a luggage rack are different configurations. A Tour-Pak luggage rack bag can add capacity for long trips, but it must match the rack’s dimensions and weight limits and must not interfere with the passenger, lighting, hinges, or secure latching of the luggage below it.

Before adding storage, identify whether the bike already has a Tour-Pak, which rack is installed, and whether the intended bag is designed for that exact setup. A useful starting point is to review Harley-Davidson Touring accessories and then verify the year and model in the manufacturer’s fitment tool. Passenger backrests, heated equipment, organizers, luggage racks, and covers can all change the final price and the practical suitability of a motorcycle.

Which 2025 Harley-Davidson Touring bike should you choose?

Your priority Most logical starting point Why
Lowest listed entry price and traditional styling Road King Special It is the least electronically elaborate option, has no fixed fairing, and uses the Milwaukee-Eight 114.
Batwing fairing and classic bagger cockpit Street Glide It combines the redesigned platform and 117 engine with Harley-Davidson’s batwing fairing.
Frame-mounted fairing Road Glide The sharknose fairing is attached to the frame and gives the bike a different cockpit and wind-management character.
Regular two-up touring Street Glide Ultra It adds factory comfort, aerodynamic, passenger, navigation, audio, and safety equipment.
Premium finish and factory performance equipment CVO Street Glide or CVO Road Glide Both receive the VVT 121, premium finishes, Brembo components, upgraded audio, and other CVO equipment.
Sharper solo performance with adjustable hardware CVO Road Glide ST Its High Output 121, fully adjustable suspension, Brembo brakes, and track-oriented modes prioritize performance.
Maximum rarity and race influence CVO Road Glide RR The Screamin’ Eagle 131, Öhlins suspension, titanium exhaust, solo seat, and track-focused equipment make it a specialist machine.

Before buying a 2025 model

  1. Confirm the exact model: A Street Glide, Street Glide Ultra, CVO Street Glide, and Road King Special can look related in photographs while having substantially different equipment.
  2. Request the VIN-specific equipment list: Verify paint, audio, luggage, passenger equipment, suspension, and installed accessories on the actual motorcycle.
  3. Get an itemized out-the-door price: Include freight, setup, dealer fees, taxes, registration, accessories, and any financing-related charges.
  4. Compare your fairing preference in person: Sit on both the Street Glide and Road Glide if either is under consideration.
  5. Budget for your actual use: Two-up riders may need passenger and luggage equipment; stored motorcycles may need a cover and battery-maintenance solution.
  6. Check the model year and warranty terms: A remaining 2025 unit, a used 2025 motorcycle, and a newer model-year motorcycle may have different pricing and coverage.
  7. Do not assume performance modes are road modes: On the CVO Road Glide ST and RR, track-oriented settings are associated with closed-course use.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many 2025 Harley-Davidson Touring models are there?

Harley-Davidson’s U.S. Grand American Touring category lists eight models: Road King Special, Street Glide, Road Glide, Street Glide Ultra, CVO Street Glide, CVO Road Glide, CVO Road Glide ST, and CVO Road Glide RR.

Is the Street Glide or Road Glide better?

Neither is universally better. The Street Glide uses a batwing-style fairing, while the Road Glide uses a frame-mounted sharknose fairing. Both standard 2025 models use the redesigned touring platform and Milwaukee-Eight 117, so the decision is primarily about cockpit preference, styling, and wind-management characteristics.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Which 2025 Harley-Davidson Touring bike is best for two-up travel?

The Street Glide Ultra is the clearest stock two-up choice because Harley-Davidson equips it with a redesigned seat, heated grips, fairing lowers with adjustable vents, air deflectors, navigation, Apple CarPlay, a 200-watt audio system, and rider-safety features. Confirm the exact passenger and luggage equipment on the motorcycle being purchased.

Does every 2025 Harley-Davidson Touring bike have Skyline OS?

No. The supplied model information identifies Skyline OS on the 2025 Street Glide, Road Glide, Street Glide Ultra, and CVO touring models. Equipment varies by model, so buyers should verify the actual motorcycle rather than assume the entire Touring category has identical infotainment and audio equipment.

Is the CVO Road Glide RR a normal touring motorcycle?

It is street-legal according to Harley-Davidson’s product description, but its Screamin’ Eagle 131 engine, Öhlins suspension, titanium exhaust, solo racing-style seat, and track-oriented modes make it a specialized performance machine rather than the normal choice for passenger-focused long-distance touring.

The Bottom Line

The 2025 Harley-Davidson Touring range is best understood as several different motorcycle types grouped under one category. The Road King Special emphasizes traditional simplicity, the Street Glide and Road Glide separate themselves through fairing design, the Street Glide Ultra is the strongest factory two-up tourer, and the CVO models add premium equipment and substantially more performance. The ST and RR sit at the enthusiast-performance end of the range. Choose the riding mission first, verify the actual motorcycle’s equipment and fitment, and treat Harley-Davidson’s power and price figures as manufacturer claims and starting points rather than independent test results or final purchase prices.
