Which trims are available on the 2025 Ford Expedition?
Ford’s published 2025 Expedition lineup includes four series: Active, Tremor, King Ranch, and Platinum. Timberline does not appear in Ford’s official 2025 trim materials, so there are not two verified 2025 Expedition trims to compare. Ford’s January 6, 2025 model update describes Tremor as a new series, stating, “Tremor series added.”
That confirms Tremor’s place in the 2025 lineup; it does not establish that Tremor replaces Timberline or is its equivalent. Ford’s published 2025 material does not provide a same-year Timberline configuration. Ford’s 2025 Expedition page and 2025 model update are the relevant references.
What does the 2025 Expedition Tremor include?
Ford lists the Tremor with a high-output 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, standard four-wheel drive, a 3.73 electronic locking differential, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and Rock Crawl Mode. These are equipment specifications, not independent evidence of how the SUV performs on a trail.

Engine output
The high-output 3.5-liter V6 is rated at 440 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. Ford lists the standard 3.5-liter engine at 400 horsepower and 480 lb-ft. These are manufacturer specifications, not results from comparative testing. See Ford’s 2025 Expedition technical specifications.
Four-wheel-drive and off-road equipment
The Tremor’s listed hardware and mode are directed toward off-road use: standard 4WD, an electronic locking differential with a 3.73 ratio, 33-inch all-terrain tires, and Rock Crawl Mode. Ford’s 2025 Expedition Order Guide, dated March 13, 2025, identifies standard Tremor equipment. The cited material does not provide a Timberline-versus-Tremor performance comparison.

What are the 2025 Expedition’s towing limits?
Ford’s 2025 model page gives maximum ratings of up to 9,600 pounds for Expedition 4×4 and up to 9,000 pounds for Expedition MAX 4×4. These are lineup maxima by body and drivetrain configuration—not verified Tremor-specific tow ratings. Check the rating for the exact vehicle and configuration rather than applying either maximum to every 4×4 Expedition.
How should you compare Tremor with Timberline?
For a 2025 purchase, compare Tremor with the other 2025 Expedition series Ford lists—Active, King Ranch, or Platinum—using the equipment and configuration information for the specific vehicles you are considering. A Timberline comparison requires a model year and a source for that year’s specifications. The available 2025 Ford material does not support assigning Timberline equipment, output, towing, or other values to a 2025 Expedition.

Ford’s Tremor inventory listing includes floor liners, but it does not confirm Amazon stock or the compatibility of any third-party listing. For replacement or accessory mats, verify the exact model year, standard or MAX body, and seating layout against the seller’s fitment details. Ford’s 2025 Expedition Tremor inventory listing is one vehicle listing, not a guarantee that every Tremor has identical equipment.
