How to choose between LS, RS, LT, and ACTIV
Choose LS for the lowest listed starting price
The LS is the entry point at Chevrolet’s listed $20,500 starting price. Chevrolet highlights Chevy Safety Assist, wireless phone integration, Active Noise Cancellation, and 17-inch steel wheels with covers. It is the straightforward choice if those features meet your needs and keeping the starting price down matters more than the higher trims’ styling or LT’s highlighted convenience equipment.

Choose 1RS or 2RS for RS styling
The RS trims share red interior accents, RS badging and grille treatment, and black bowtie emblems. The clearest distinction in Chevrolet’s listed highlights is wheel size: 1RS has 18-inch machined two-tone wheels, while 2RS has 19-inch machined two-tone wheels. The 2RS starting price is $2,000 higher than the 1RS; whether its appearance is worth that difference is a personal preference, not a mechanical upgrade established by the trim summary.
Choose LT for the highlighted screens and convenience equipment
LT is the trim Chevrolet associates with an 11-inch touchscreen, an 8-inch color Driver Information Center, remote starter, and automatic climate controls. If these are the features you specifically want, compare an LT vehicle’s window sticker and quote against other trims rather than assuming RS or ACTIV styling brings the same equipment.

Choose ACTIV for a different styling direction
ACTIV replaces RS design cues with 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, a black grille with Titanium-color chrome accents, unique interior accents, and ACTIV badging. Chevrolet lists it at the same $24,500 starting price as 2RS, so this choice comes down principally to which exterior and interior treatment you prefer.
What every 2025 Trax trim shares
The trim choice does not add a different engine or an all-wheel-drive option. Chevrolet lists the same 1.2-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine across the lineup, rated at 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The 2025 Trax is front-wheel drive only, and Chevrolet says it is not rated to tow.

Chevrolet also lists five seats, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, and up to 54.1 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. Its model page presents 30 mpg combined as a GM-estimated figure. These are manufacturer figures for the 2025 U.S. model, not independent test results.
Safety equipment: standard features versus available features
Chevrolet says Chevy Safety Assist is standard and also lists a Rear Vision Camera, Rear Seat Reminder, and Teen Driver Technology as standard. Rear Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert are listed as available. The page’s summary does not specify which trim or package supplies each available feature, so verify the equipment on the exact vehicle’s window sticker or by VIN before you buy.
