The configurator uses the buyer’s ZIP code to confirm pricing and offers, so treat the figure as a listed starting point—not a guaranteed price for a particular trim, drivetrain or vehicle, and not the total due at purchase. Chevrolet’s result does not establish destination charges, current incentives, dealer fees, local inventory or final trim-by-trim pricing.
For a usable local comparison, configure the trim and drivetrain you want, enter your ZIP code, then request an itemized dealer quote for the matching vehicle. Check that the quote separates the vehicle price, destination charge, taxes, registration and any dealer-installed items or fees. The listed starting MSRP is from Chevrolet’s configurator; it may change and should be rechecked when shopping.
Trims: LT vs. RS vs. ACTIV
All three trims use the same basic engine lineup, but their styling and equipment emphasis differ. Specific options and packages can vary, so confirm the actual build rather than assuming every vehicle with a trim badge has identical equipment.

Chevrolet describes three distinct front fascia treatments and LED lighting across the redesigned model. It also says the body is 2.5 inches wider than the preceding Equinox. Wheel choices span 17-inch wheels to available 20-inch wheels on RS, depending on configuration.
Photos and design details
Chevrolet’s January 2024 announcement includes official exterior imagery and describes the model’s three front-end treatments. One ACTIV image is captioned as a preproduction model, with a notice that the production vehicle may differ. A release image should not be treated as proof that a particular wheel, color or other pictured detail is included on every trim or available in a shopper’s market. Review the caption and the build sheet for the specific vehicle.

Engine, transmission and drivetrain
Every 2025 Equinox is specified with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 175 horsepower. Front-wheel-drive models use a continuously variable transmission (CVT); available all-wheel-drive models use an eight-speed automatic. Chevrolet lists different torque figures by drivetrain:

Chevrolet also describes hidden storage beneath the rear cargo floor. If you regularly carry bulky items, compare the listed volume with the shape and opening of the cargo area in person; volume alone does not tell you whether a particular item will fit.

Chevrolet lists towing capacity at 800 pounds for FWD and up to 1,500 pounds for AWD. The AWD figure is a maximum, not an assurance that every load is suitable. Follow the owner’s manual, including its guidance on vehicle loading and towing limits, and account for occupants and cargo when determining what the vehicle can tow.

Technology and safety equipment
Chevrolet describes an 11-inch configurable driver information center and an 11.3-inch infotainment display with Google built-in. The manufacturer also announces standard driver-assistance equipment across the trims. Its list includes:
- Chevy Safety Assist features: Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking, Following Distance Indicator, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and IntelliBeam.
- Adaptive Cruise Control.

- Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking.
- Rear Cross Traffic Braking and Rear Park Assist.
- Enhanced Lane Keep Assist and Side Bicyclist Alert.
These are Chevrolet’s announced standard-equipment claims for the model. Because equipment can depend on the actual vehicle build and market, verify the window sticker or build sheet for the Equinox you are considering. Which 2025 Equinox should you compare?
Start with how you will use the vehicle, then compare actual configurations rather than choosing on trim name alone:
- For a value-focused comparison: Begin with LT and check whether its equipment meets your needs before adding options or moving to a higher trim.
- For street-oriented styling: Compare RS wheel and tire configurations, especially if available 20-inch wheels matter to you.
- For an outdoors-inspired look: Consider ACTIV, while treating its styling and all-terrain tires separately from towing or other capability requirements.
- For drivetrain needs: Compare FWD’s CVT and AWD’s eight-speed automatic, torque ratings and the towing limits relevant to your use.
- For cargo or towing: Check whether the listed space and capacity suit the items or trailer you actually need to carry, and follow Chevrolet’s loading guidance.
- For price: Compare itemized quotes for the same trim, drivetrain and equipment in your area.
Chevrolet’s January 2024 announcement said the Equinox had been in production for more than 20 years and had sold more than 3 million units. Those figures describe the model’s history as stated at that time, not a current cumulative sales total.
