Those are original model-year launch prices—not current dealer asking prices or used-car values. The main choice is a manual, rear-wheel-drive M4 Coupe; a more powerful rear-wheel-drive Competition Coupe; or a 523-hp Competition xDrive Coupe or Convertible with all-wheel drive.
2025 BMW M4 launch prices in the U.S.
BMW Group announced the following base MSRPs on January 30, 2024, for the 2025 model-year refresh. The right-hand column adds BMW’s announced $995 destination and handling charge; neither figure includes tax, title, license, registration, dealer adjustments, or any other transaction costs.

These are launch MSRP figures, not evidence of what a dealer charged or what a 2025 M4 costs on the used market. BMW USA’s current M4 pages have moved on to later model years, and BMW says the displayed MSRP may not match a dealer’s actual selling price. Which 2025 M4 configuration fits?
The most useful distinction is not just the trim badge: transmission, driven wheels, output, and body style change together across the lineup.

BMW’s launch release gives the xDrive acceleration figures as manufacturer claims, not independent test results. It lists 473 hp at 6,250 rpm and 406 lb-ft from 2,650–6,130 rpm for the M4 Coupe; the Competition Coupe’s 503 hp is at 6,250 rpm, with 479 lb-ft from 2,750–5,500 rpm. Both xDrive models make 523 hp at 6,250 rpm and 479 lb-ft, with the torque range extending to 5,730 rpm. Each uses a 2,993 cc (3.0-liter) turbocharged inline-six S58 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology.
Manual and rear-wheel drive: M4 Coupe
The standard M4 Coupe is the only 2025 configuration in this lineup with a six-speed manual. It also pairs the lowest output, 473 hp, with rear-wheel drive. It is the clearest fit for a buyer who values a manual transmission over the Competition models’ extra power and automatic gearbox.

More power without all-wheel drive: Competition Coupe
The rear-wheel-drive Competition Coupe raises output to 503 hp and torque to 479 lb-ft, while switching to an eight-speed M Steptronic automatic with Drivelogic. It keeps the Coupe body and rear-drive layout but does not offer the standard car’s manual transmission.
All-wheel drive: Competition xDrive Coupe and Convertible
The two Competition xDrive models add BMW M xDrive traction and make 523 hp. The Coupe has BMW’s quicker published 0–60 mph claim at 3.4 seconds; the Convertible is listed at 3.6 seconds. BMW says the 2025 xDrive Coupe and Convertible each gained 20 hp over their preceding versions.

Top speed and acceleration claims
BMW lists a 155 mph electronically limited top speed for the 2025 M4 range. With the optional M Driver’s Package, BMW states maximum speeds of 180 mph for the Coupe and 174 mph for the Convertible. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified results; high-speed driving belongs only in a suitable controlled environment, never on public roads.

BMW’s January 2024 announcement described a visual and cabin update alongside the xDrive power increase. The 2025 cars received new headlights and laser-accented taillights, bright-silver-finish M forged light-alloy wheels, new interior trims and steering wheels, and a Curved Display running iDrive 8.5 with M-specific graphics. Optional M design graphics for the hood and trunk lid were announced for the Coupe. BMW scheduled worldwide production to begin in March 2024.

For photos, use imagery that is identified as the 2025 model and matches the body style and trim shown. BMW’s launch announcement is the primary reference for the refresh; a later-year image on a current BMW USA model page should not be presented as a 2025 car unless its model year and configuration are confirmed. Dimensions, luggage space, and weight
BMW lists every configuration as a two-door, four-seat vehicle. The Coupe dimensions are close across the range, while the Convertible’s luggage capacity is lower and varies by configuration.

The published figures put coupe luggage capacity at 15.5 cubic feet; BMW gives the Convertible a 10.6–13.6-cubic-foot range rather than one fixed number. The convertible range is configuration-dependent.
