What changed for the 2025 Audi RS 3?
Audi describes the 2025 car as a product upgrade, not a new generation, and says it had been on sale since late 2024. The update retains the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine and the torque splitter, while revised chassis tuning is intended to sharpen cornering behavior. Audi’s 6 June 2025 media release says the changes produce more precise turn-in and reduce understeer.
Audi attributes the handling behavior to chassis tuning working with brake-torque vectoring and the rear-axle torque splitter. The system can vary torque between the rear wheels; Audi says that distribution supports agility and stability. This is the manufacturer’s description, not an independent test result.
How does it compare with the M2 and CLA 45?
The evidence supports a limited comparison, not a three-car ranking. The Mercedes-Benz USA lineup notice supplies a 2025 price for the AMG CLA 45 S, while the available Audi material describes the RS 3’s engine and handling updates. It does not establish equivalent BMW M2 specifications or a matched acceleration, cornering, or practicality comparison.

The two listed prices are narrow U.S. reference points, not transaction-price comparisons. They do not account for options, destination charges, dealer pricing, or availability. The figures alone do not show which car is the better value.
What do the RS 3’s engine and efficiency figures mean?
Audi’s global RS 3 Sedan product page lists the 2.5 TFSI at 294 kW and gives preliminary combined consumption of 9.3–8.9 l/100 km (25.3–26.4 U.S. mpg), with preliminary CO₂ emissions of 210–201 g/km. These are Audi’s preliminary global figures, not U.S. EPA fuel-economy ratings.

What does Audi’s Nürburgring claim show?
Audi says the updated RS 3 set a Nürburgring Nordschleife compact-car lap record in 2024, beating its pre-facelift version by more than seven seconds. Audi cites an optimized chassis setup, semi-slick tires, and the 400 PS five-cylinder engine as context for the run. This is Audi’s reported comparison with the previous RS 3; it is not a head-to-head result against the BMW M2 or Mercedes-AMG CLA 45.

The 2025 RS 3’s case is a combination of its retained five-cylinder concept and Audi’s claimed handling improvements. The price listings offer limited U.S. context, but a responsible verdict against the M2 and CLA 45 would also require equivalent model-year specifications and directly comparable testing. The evidence here supports neither a claim that the RS 3 has beaten those rivals nor a complete ranking of the three.
