Aston Martin says the exhaust’s smaller muffler makes the V12 sound clearer and louder while reducing weight by 10.5 kg. Those are manufacturer claims from the car’s 2024 launch material, not results from an independent sound test.
What does the 2025 Vanquish sound like?
Aston Martin describes the optional titanium exhaust as producing a “clearer, louder and even more engaging V12 sound character.” The company attributes that change to a smaller muffler. It has not published a decibel reading or an independent comparison of the standard and titanium systems in the cited launch material, so the description is best understood as the automaker’s characterization rather than a measured sound result.
The titanium system is also claimed to reduce weight by 10.5 kg. That figure, like the sound description, comes from Aston Martin’s 2 September 2024 launch release: Aston Martin’s Vanquish launch announcement.
How powerful is the Vanquish V12?
The third-generation Vanquish has a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 rated by Aston Martin at 835 PS and 1,000 Nm of torque. The company’s launch release lists a maximum speed of 214 mph. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independently verified test results. Aston Martin described the engine at launch as the most powerful V12 it had offered in its core sports-car range.

The engine also uses a Boost Reserve feature. Aston Martin says it can raise turbo boost above the level normally needed at a partial-throttle position, so boost is available when the driver requests full power. The manufacturer’s retrospective, dated 25 March 2026, gives a 0–60 mph time of 3.3 seconds alongside the same 835 PS, 1,000 Nm and 214 mph figures: Aston Martin’s Vanquish V12 retrospective.
Where the new Vanquish fits in the lineup
Aston Martin revealed the current Vanquish in Venice in September 2024, positioning it as the front-engined flagship of its sports-car portfolio and a Super GT. The company’s reveal announcement said production would be capped at no greater than 1,000 examples a year. It also described the Vanquish as the only model in the portfolio at the time with an Aston Martin-developed 12-cylinder engine. Read the Venice world-reveal announcement.

This is the third generation to carry the Vanquish name. Aston Martin’s 2026 retrospective traces the lineage to the first V12 Vanquish in 2001, followed by a second generation in 2012 and the current car in 2024. At launch, Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll said, “With the introduction of Vanquish we have crowned Aston Martin’s next-generation sports car portfolio.”

Aston Martin’s 2026 retrospective describes a bonded-aluminium body structure, double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. It also lists carbon-ceramic brakes as standard, with 410 mm front discs and 360 mm rear discs. These details help place the car’s V12 in a wider flagship package, but they do not establish how the titanium exhaust sounds in person.

- Size Check List: Before you click buy, run through this list. Thread spec? M8 1.25 mm. Overall size? 0.69 0.69 0.37 inch. Hex width? 0.50 inch. Hex height? 0.25 inch. This exhaust manifold nut matches all those numbers. Your old nut should match too. If not, keep shopping
- OEM Number Match: Find your vehicle OEM number for the exhaust manifold nut. Look for A1201420072. That is the number this nut replaces. Same number means same fit. No adapter needed. No modification required. Just take out the old one and put in this one. The job takes minutes, not hours
- What This Nut Does: The manifold gasket needs pressure to seal. These hex nuts provide that pressure. They clamp the gasket between the engine block and manifold. No gap means no gas leak. Your engine runs at full power. Your fuel does not get wasted
- Material Breakdown: Two layers make up each exhaust manifold nut. The core is iron. Iron gives you high strength and hardness. It will not snap when you torque it down. The outside is copper plated. Copper stops rust from forming. Your nut stays easy to detach years later. No seized threads. No broken studs. Just a clean swap when needed
- Install in One Step: Check the OEM number. Confirm the size. Take your old nut off. Put this hex nuts on. Tighten to spec. Done. The rose gold color is a surprise. It looks good under the hood. The real win is the fit. Thread matches factory specs. The nut goes on smooth and stays tight. Your system stays sealed
The headline’s “angry” description is therefore a vivid shorthand for Aston Martin’s own claims about the optional exhaust—not an independent listening verdict. The available manufacturer material establishes the engine’s published output and the exhaust’s stated design effect, but not a measured loudness or a third-party sound comparison.
