2025 Aston Martin DBX707 Review: Sweet SUV Overkill

The 2025 Aston Martin DBX707 puts a 707PS twin-turbo V8 and claimed supercar-like acceleration in a five-seat luxury SUV. The 2024 update made its cabin technology more current, but left the central performance hardware intact. That makes the DBX707’s appeal clear; whether its extreme output is useful or simply excess depends on what you want from a luxury SUV.

What changed for 2025?

The DBX707 received a substantial cabin and technology update for 2024, while retaining its main powertrain and braking hardware. Aston Martin announced a redesigned interior architecture, its next-generation in-house infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C connections, and online connectivity through the customer app. The refresh also brought chassis software calibration changes and detail revisions to the dampers and air springs. Aston Martin’s April 22, 2024 announcement describes the changes and says deliveries of the refreshed model were scheduled to begin in Q2 2024.

The manufacturer called the DBX707 the sole powertrain in its SUV portfolio at the time of that announcement. That statement describes the lineup then; it should not be read as a claim about every later model year. In April 2025, Aston Martin announced the DBX S, a separate flagship rated at 727PS and 900Nm. The DBX S is not the DBX707, and that announcement does not establish the DBX707’s availability or pricing in a particular market. Aston Martin’s DBX S announcement gives its specifications.

How fast is the DBX707?

Aston Martin rates the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 at 707PS and 900Nm. It is paired with a nine-speed wet-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. The manufacturer quotes 0–60 mph in 3.1 seconds and a top speed of 193 mph. Those are factory figures, not independent test results. Aston Martin’s 2024 announcement provides those figures and the powertrain details.

A separate Aston Martin USA brochure, accessed in 2026, gives 0–62 mph in 3.3 seconds. The two acceleration numbers use different distances and come from different manufacturer materials, so they are not interchangeable. The brochure also describes triple-chamber air suspension, electronic dampers and eARC anti-roll control. Its claimed 0.7-degree body-roll figure is a manufacturer claim, not an independent measurement.

Carbon-ceramic brakes are standard equipment in the cited specification, with 420mm front discs and 390mm rear discs. The figures make the DBX707’s performance intent unmistakable, but they cannot tell you how it rides, handles or behaves in everyday traffic. The available sources do not include an independent road test.

What is the cabin and infotainment like?

The refreshed dashboard centers on a 12.3-inch driver display and a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Aston Martin describes an interface that combines touch controls with physical buttons. The company says physical controls remain for gear selection, drive modes, heating and ventilation, suspension, ESP and exhaust settings, lane-keep assist and parking-distance control. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included in the announced system.

Aston Martin lists an 800-watt, 14-speaker Premium Audio system as standard and a 1,600-watt, 23-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system as optional. These are manufacturer specifications; they do not establish how easy the system is to use or how reliably it performs in daily driving.

How practical is it?

Autoblog’s 2025 DBX overview lists seating for five and cargo capacity of 22.5 cubic feet, rising to 54 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. These are secondary-source specifications, not independently measured figures, and the page is not a market-specific Aston Martin document.

That same overview lists fuel economy of 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined. Treat these as reported estimates, not real-world test results. The available source does not establish fuel consumption under particular driving conditions, so actual use may differ.

How much does the 2025 DBX707 cost?

A reliable U.S. base price for the 2025 DBX707 was not verified in the available sources. Autoblog’s page includes a price section, but it explicitly labels its $252,086 base price and $350,000-plus configured-price figure as 2026 DBX values. They should not be presented as 2025 prices. A buyer should confirm the relevant model year, market and configuration with an Aston Martin dealer.

Is the DBX707 worth it?

The DBX707 makes the most sense for a buyer who wants a highly personalized luxury SUV with extraordinary manufacturer-claimed performance, and for whom outright value or fuel use is not the main filter. Its 2024 cabin update addresses a notable part of the package—technology—without changing the basic V8-and-all-wheel-drive proposition.

There is not enough evidence here to call it a better buy than a Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT or another rival. A meaningful comparison would need matched market pricing and configuration, independent testing, and evidence about usability and ownership. There is also no verified basis here for judging reliability, depreciation or total ownership costs. If those factors matter most, seek current local quotes and independent tests before deciding.
