In Mercedes-AMG’s September 21, 2022 launch release, Jochen Hermann, then a member of the executive board and chief technical officer of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, called the car “a technological masterpiece that takes a new approach.” He highlighted the rear electric drive’s immediate response, rapid torque build-up and the battery’s fast power output and draw, as well as standard rear-axle steering and AMG Performance 4MATIC+ with Drift Mode.
