Mercedes-Benz USA lists 671 hp of combined system output, estimates 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds, and announced a launch starting MSRP of $83,900 before destination. Those are manufacturer figures—not independent test results—and the price is historical, not a current dealer quote.
What the C 63 S E PERFORMANCE is
Mercedes-AMG replaced the previous C 63’s large-displacement V8 approach with a performance-hybrid system. In the U.S. 2024 sedan, a handcrafted 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four drives the front, while an electric motor drives the rear axle. The system also includes a high-performance battery, AMG Performance 4MATIC+ fully variable all-wheel drive, and an electrically assisted exhaust-gas turbocharger. The U.S. guide specifies an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G transmission.
Mercedes-Benz described the technology as derived from Formula 1, saying at launch that the car “brings state-of-the-art technologies derived directly from Formula 1™ to the road.” That is Mercedes-Benz’s positioning, not an independent assessment. Power, torque and acceleration
Mercedes-Benz USA’s 2024 quick reference guide lists 671 hp combined system output. The guide gives the combustion engine 469 hp at 6,750 rpm and the electric motor 201 hp. The component figures should not be added as though they were independently delivered at the same time and operating condition; the manufacturer’s combined system figure is 671 hp.

The guide also lists 752 lb-ft of combined system torque, but explicitly identifies that number as a calculated theoretical value used for comparison. It is not a direct sum of the engine and motor torque figures: the guide lists 402 lb-ft for the engine and 236 lb-ft for the motor, which act through different parts of the drivetrain.
Mercedes-Benz USA estimates 0–60 mph in 3.3 seconds. Its stated top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph, or 174 mph when equipped with the AMG Performance Design Package. Battery, fuel economy and weight
The U.S. quick reference guide lists a 6.1 kWh battery capacity, of which 4.8 kWh is usable, and a curb weight of 4,817 lb. It lists fuel economy at 41 MPGe city, 39 MPGe highway and 40 MPGe combined, reflecting gas and electric operation. These are the manufacturer’s published specifications; they do not establish real-world electric range, charging time, or practical fuel consumption.
Charging time depends on conditions and equipment. The 2024 U.S. AMG C Sedan owner’s manual says it varies with state of charge, ambient temperature, charging power, supply voltage, current and type of power supply. The U.S. guide lists these chassis and driving features as standard:
- 19-inch wheels and adaptive-damping AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension
- 2.5-degree active rear-axle steering
- AMG high-performance composite brakes and AMG Dynamic Engine Mounts
- AMG Performance 4MATIC+ with Drift Mode
- Eight AMG DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs
Mercedes-Benz USA’s pricing announcement also describes standard sports seats, a 12.3-inch driver display, an 11.9-inch central display, a panoramic roof and Burmester 3D surround sound, among other comfort and infotainment equipment. Trim and package differences
Pinnacle trim
The Pinnacle trim adds features that include augmented video for navigation, an AMG-specific head-up display and DIGITAL LIGHT with projections. Mercedes-Benz USA’s 2024 guide lists its MSRP at $85,950 before destination and delivery.
AMG Performance Design Package
The optional AMG Performance Design Package includes 20-inch forged wheels and raises the electronically limited top speed to 174 mph, according to the U.S. guide. That higher limit applies with the package; it is not the standard figure.

2024 U.S. launch pricing and timing
Mercedes-Benz USA announced a starting MSRP of $83,900 for the 2024 C 63 S E PERFORMANCE, plus $1,150 destination and delivery, with U.S. dealership arrival planned for spring 2024. The Pinnacle trim’s listed $85,950 MSRP is also before destination and delivery. These are launch-era U.S. prices announced in 2024; they do not indicate current inventory, transaction prices, incentives or used-market value.
How to interpret the confirmed figures
The specifications above describe the U.S. 2024 sedan and come from Mercedes-Benz materials. Other markets may have different ratings, equipment, homologation figures and prices. The figures do not establish how the car performs in independent testing, its reliability or depreciation, or how far it will travel on electricity in real use. For a comparison with another performance sedan, match market, model year and trim, and compare like-for-like published or independently tested figures.
