The 2024 Honda Prologue is a roomy, comfortable electric SUV with useful range, straightforward tech and a composed ride. Its driving character is less engaging than its Honda badge might suggest, but the value case has changed: Kelley Blue Book’s national used-car estimates are far below the Prologue’s original U.S. prices. If you’re shopping, compare local examples and check the specific vehicle’s recall status by VIN.
Is the 2024 Honda Prologue a good vehicle?
It is a solid choice for drivers who want a practical electric SUV rather than a particularly sporty one. Car and Driver describes the Prologue as competent but dull in character: it found a smooth ride and steady handling, but less tactile steering, awkward interior controls and acceleration that lacks the punch of some EV rivals. The cabin is roomy and its standard technology is generous, though the design does little to make the Prologue feel distinctive.
That mix makes the Prologue easier to recommend at today’s used-market estimates than at its original launch prices. The right example can offer useful range, family-friendly space and a comfortable ride; condition, mileage, local price and completed recall work matter more than a national average.
How much range does the 2024 Honda Prologue have?
Honda’s U.S. specifications list an 85 kWh battery and EPA-estimated range that varies by trim and drivetrain. EX and Touring models have the highest rated range with front-wheel drive; all-wheel drive adds power and traction but lowers the official range.

These are EPA ratings, not a promise of the distance every driver will cover. Speed, temperature, terrain, tires, cabin heating or cooling and driving style affect real-world range. Car and Driver recorded 240 miles in its 75-mph highway range test of one AWD Elite—an outlet-specific result under its own test protocol, not an owner forecast or a revised EPA figure.
How does the Prologue charge?
Honda lists 35 minutes to charge from 20% to 80% on DC fast charging under its stated conditions. Its Level 2 estimate is 34.1 miles of range per charging hour, based on a professionally installed 48-amp station on a dedicated 60-amp circuit; the station is sold separately. Charging time and rate vary with charger output, battery condition, temperature, settings and other factors.

Honda says original buyers could choose among charging packages that included a home station and installation with public-charging credits, a portable charging kit with credits, or a public-charging credit. That historical offer does not establish what equipment comes with a used car. Ask the seller what, if anything, is included, and verify connector compatibility, the home’s electrical service and installation needs before choosing a charger. For home charging, compare a 48-amp Level 2 EV charger only after confirming those details; Honda’s stated charging rate assumes professional installation and a dedicated circuit.
What are the interior, space and technology like?
The Prologue’s practical strengths are room and everyday usability. Honda lists Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an 11.3-inch infotainment display as standard equipment. Car and Driver praises its space and ride composure, while criticizing awkward controls. Edmunds’ comparison, carried by the Associated Press, identifies rear legroom and cargo utility as useful decision points against the 2024 Toyota bZ4X; it favors the Prologue’s rear legroom, while finding the Toyota more comfortable over bumps. These are editorial comparisons, not a guarantee that one model suits every driver better.

How much should a used 2024 Honda Prologue cost?
Kelley Blue Book’s national Fair Purchase Price estimates, displayed as valid through October 4, 2026, are $23,600 for EX, $26,700 for Touring and $28,800 for Elite. They describe typical-condition vehicles and vary with mileage, condition, location and other factors; they are estimates, not firm offers or guaranteed resale values. Refresh the figures when shopping and compare listings in your area.
For context, American Honda’s January 3, 2025 U.S. pricing release listed original destination-inclusive prices of $48,850 for EX FWD, $51,850 for EX AWD, $53,150 for Touring FWD, $56,150 for Touring AWD and $59,350 for Elite AWD. Those original prices excluded taxes and certain other charges, and dealer pricing could vary. The difference from today’s national used estimates is substantial, but a specific car’s asking price should be judged against its age, mileage, condition, equipment and local alternatives—not by subtracting the figures and assuming every vehicle has depreciated identically.

What to check before buying a used Prologue
Look up recalls by VIN
Do not assume every 2024 Prologue is affected by a recall—or that any particular car’s repairs are complete. NHTSA’s 2024 control-link campaign described a possible fracture that could lead to loss of vehicle control and identified 39 potentially involved vehicles. A later rearview-camera campaign covers certain 2024–2025 Prologues and describes a distorted or blank image, with dealer replacement as the remedy. Enter the specific VIN in NHTSA’s recall lookup and ask the seller or dealer to confirm that any required remedy has been completed.
Inspect the individual car and its charging equipment
- Compare the asking price with local listings for the same trim, drivetrain, similar mileage and condition.
- Confirm which charging cables, adapters or other equipment are included rather than assuming the original buyer’s package transferred with the vehicle.
- Check the vehicle’s maintenance and repair records, tire condition and general condition, and arrange an independent inspection if appropriate.
- If home charging is part of your plan, confirm electrical capacity, installation requirements and charger compatibility before relying on Honda’s Level 2 charging estimate.
2024 Honda Prologue vs. Toyota bZ4X
The 2024 Toyota bZ4X is a useful comparison if you are cross-shopping electric SUVs. Edmunds’ comparison highlights range and charging, acceleration and ride comfort, second-row legroom, cargo utility and price. It favors the Prologue’s range and rear legroom, while describing the bZ4X as more comfortable over bumps and the Prologue’s handling and ride as less impressive. Compare the specific trims and local used prices you are considering; the comparison does not make either vehicle the universal winner.

Verdict
The Prologue’s strengths are clear: useful EPA-rated range, a roomy cabin, standard smartphone and Google-based tech, and a ride that reviewers found composed. Its steering and controls are less satisfying, and its driving character does not deliver much sparkle. As a used SUV, it is more compelling when a particular car’s price, condition and recall history check out. Choose FWD if rated range is the priority; choose AWD if its additional output and traction utility matter more.
