RST First Edition launch MSRP
Chevrolet announced an MSRP of $94,500 plus destination freight charge for the 2024 RST First Edition in May 2024. That is a historical, trim-specific announced price—not a current quote, a price for every 2024 Silverado EV, or evidence of what buyers ultimately paid. Current transaction prices, incentives, and used-market values are not established by that announcement.

The distinction matters when judging whether the range justified the cost. A buyer considering an RST First Edition was weighing its particular equipment and price; the RST figure should not be used to imply that all Silverado EV configurations had the same price. Chevrolet’s 2024 announcement is the source for the announced MSRP.
How quickly could it charge?
Chevrolet said WT and RST models supported DC fast charging up to 350 kW. It also cited Level 2 charging up to 19.2 kW/80 amps for the specified setup. These are manufacturer-stated capability limits, not promises that every charger or vehicle session will sustain those rates. Actual charging depends on the charging equipment and conditions.

For home charging, check the household electrical service, charger compatibility, and installation requirements before planning around the stated Level 2 capability. Does the range make the price worthwhile?
The answer depends on the configuration and a buyer’s use. The published range figures are substantial, but the RST First Edition’s announced price was also substantial. Range alone cannot establish value: a prospective buyer also needs to consider required trim features, how often they tow or carry heavy loads, access to home charging, and the actual price available to them.

Cars.com’s assessment highlighted the Silverado EV’s range while noting limited early trim choice and questioning the value of some expensive RST First Edition features. Chevrolet introduced the truck around its Ultium platform. In the company’s January 2022 introduction, Chevrolet vice president Steve Hill described Ultium as enabling pickup performance for fleet and retail customers. That is Chevrolet’s product framing; it does not by itself establish that a particular buyer will recoup the launch price through lower ownership costs. The available sources do not establish comparable electricity, insurance, maintenance, or competing-truck costs for calculating such savings.
