Cadillac estimates up to 314 miles of range for RWD and 307 miles for AWD, while independent highway tests came in lower. The key questions are whether its calm ride and distinctive cabin suit you, and whether its software and charging setup fit your routine.
What is the 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ like?
The LYRIQ is an all-electric luxury SUV built around a hushed cabin, a comfort-oriented ride and a large, technology-forward interior. Car and Driver praised its quietness and styling, while describing software acclimation and reduced driving fun as trade-offs. AutoTrader.ca, reviewing a Canadian-market 2024 Sport AWD, likewise described a calm, quiet ride and noted limited steering feedback and a soft brake-pedal feel. Those are reviewer impressions, not guarantees of how every driver will experience the vehicle.
Cadillac lists a 102-kWh battery and up to 60.8 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seat folded. The cabin’s 33-inch-diagonal advanced LED display and Google built-in are among the technology highlights; equipment availability varies by trim and package. What is the difference between LYRIQ RWD and AWD?
Cadillac lists more power for AWD and a slightly lower EPA-estimated range than for RWD. The choice is also about your preference for all-wheel traction versus the RWD configuration; the figures below do not predict performance or range in every driving condition.

How far can a 2024 Cadillac LYRIQ go on a charge?
Cadillac’s EPA-estimated full-charge range is 314 miles for RWD and 307 miles for AWD. These are estimates, not assured distances: weather, terrain, speed, cargo, battery condition and other factors affect real-world range. For a specific route, plan around the conditions and charging access you expect, rather than assuming the full estimate will be available.

Car and Driver reported 270 miles for its RWD vehicle and 220 miles for its AWD vehicle in its highway-range tests. Those outlet-specific results are useful context for highway travel, but they are not a universal range prediction. Different routes, weather and driving conditions can change results.
How long does it take to charge a 2024 LYRIQ?
DC fast charging
Cadillac lists DC fast charging up to 190 kW and estimates that about 10 minutes can add up to 77 miles of range. That is a conditional estimate, not a guaranteed charging result or a promise that the vehicle will hold the maximum rate. Cadillac says charging time varies with the starting state of charge, battery condition, charger output, vehicle settings and outside temperature.

Level 2 home charging
Cadillac lists Level 2 AC charging up to 19.2 kW as available on Luxury and Sport. That configuration requires a professionally installed, dedicated 19.2-kW/100A charging station, sold separately. Confirm the equipment on the individual vehicle and have an electrician assess the home’s electrical service before planning around that rate. The fact sheet does not establish a universal home-charging time for every LYRIQ setup.
Which 2024 LYRIQ trim should I buy?
The U.S. lineup is Tech, Luxury and Sport, and each trim is offered with RWD or AWD, according to Cadillac’s model-year fact sheet. The available evidence does not provide a complete, comparable equipment list or U.S. trim-by-trim pricing, so a trim name alone is not enough to confirm that a particular feature is included.

- Compare the actual equipment. Check the specific vehicle’s window sticker and package list for the features you want; availability varies by trim and package.
- Check charging capability. The listed 19.2-kW Level 2 AC configuration is available on Luxury and Sport and requires the separately sold, professionally installed station described above.
- Verify driver assistance. Super Cruise is available, not universal, and requires an active plan or trial. Check Cadillac’s current terms and the vehicle’s equipment before relying on it. Cadillac says driver-assistance features do not replace the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle safely or remain attentive.
What should buyers know about price and sales context?
In a November 19, 2024 release, General Motors stated that more than 20,000 new LYRIQs were sold in the United States from January through September 2024 and called the LYRIQ the best-selling vehicle in its class for that period, citing S&P Global Mobility registrations. The same release gave a $58,590 starting MSRP. That historical MSRP excluded tax, title, license, dealer fees and optional equipment; the dealer set the final price. Who is the 2024 LYRIQ best suited to?
The LYRIQ is worth considering if your priorities are a quiet, comfortable cabin, distinctive styling and a roomy interior. Its comfort-first character may be less appealing if you want sharp steering feedback or a more engaging drive, and you should spend time with the interface to decide whether its controls and software feel intuitive to you.

Before choosing a configuration, weigh the small difference in Cadillac’s estimated RWD and AWD ranges against the power figures and your need for all-weather traction. For regular longer trips, assess realistic highway range and available charging along your routes. For home charging, confirm the vehicle’s onboard charging configuration and the installation requirements rather than assuming every LYRIQ supports the same setup.
