The 2023 Yamaha TW200 is a compact, street-legal dual-sport built around a 196cc air-cooled single, a 31.1-inch seat, oversized tires, and electric start. Yamaha listed a starting MSRP of $4,899 for the model, before destination, freight, taxes, and dealer charges. Its published specifications explain the bike’s approachable proportions and street-and-trail intent, but Yamaha does not publish horsepower, torque, top speed, or acceleration figures for it.
2023 Yamaha TW200 performance: what the specifications tell you
Yamaha specifies a 196cc air-cooled, SOHC four-stroke engine with two valves, a 67.0mm bore, 55.7mm stroke, 9.5:1 compression ratio, Mikuni 28mm fuel delivery, and CDI ignition. A constant-mesh five-speed transmission, manual multiplate wet clutch, and chain final drive complete the drivetrain. Yamaha characterizes the engine as providing low- and mid-range power for off-road exploring; that is the manufacturer’s description, not a published horsepower or torque measurement.
Yamaha’s features page calls the five-speed transmission’s power “usable” for on- and off-road performance. Treat that as product positioning: the available official material does not provide independently measured acceleration, top speed, horsepower, or torque. Those figures should not be inferred from displacement alone.
Suspension, tires, and braking
The front telescopic fork has 6.3 inches of travel; the single rear shock has 5.9 inches. The TW200 uses a 220mm front disc brake and a 110mm rear drum. Its tire sizes are 130/80-18 at the front and 180/80-14 at the rear. Yamaha says the broad tires support traction and comfort over varied terrain, but that manufacturer claim is not a comparative test result.

Is the TW200 good on and off road?
Yamaha positions the TW200 for street-and-trail use. Its five-speed manual transmission, electric start, broad tires, and stated ground clearance fit that dual-purpose concept, while the published figures give readers useful dimensions to assess. They are not proof of performance on every trail, in every condition, or at highway speeds; the official material cited here does not include independent ride testing.

Standard equipment listed by Yamaha includes a speedometer, odometer, resettable trip meter, indicator lights, turn signals, and passenger foot pegs. Yamaha describes the model as capable of carrying two people, but whether it suits a particular rider or passenger depends on fit and use, not the seat-height figure alone.
Seat height, weight, and rider fit
The seat is 31.1 inches high, and Yamaha lists wet weight at 278 pounds. Wet weight includes standard equipment, all fluids, and a full fuel tank. Those figures help frame the bike’s size, but seat height alone cannot determine whether a motorcycle will feel manageable: leg length, inseam, riding position, balance, and experience also matter. If possible, sit on the bike and assess the reach to the ground and controls before deciding.

- Fitment: The Rear Turn Signal is for Yamaha TW200, FZR400, FZR600, Radian 600; for Yamaha XT600, XT225, XT250, XJ600.It matches OEM part numbers including 3UY-83310-00-00, 1UF-83310-00-00, 3C5-83320-10-00, 4BE-83340-00-00, 3UY-83340-00-00, 1UF-83340-00-00, 3UY-83320-00-00, 1UF-83320-00-00
- Durable construction: The impact-resistant turn signal shell is made from high-quality ABS plastic with a hard outer coating. This makes the turn signals waterproof, and resistant to cracking, scratching and UV damage. The weather-resistant shell does not become brittle or deform in extremely cold or hot conditions, so whether you're riding on sunny highways or muddy trails, they will hold up to the elements.
- High-intensity amber lighting: Enhances nighttime visibility. Amber light penetrates darkness effectively, allowing vehicles behind to clearly recognize your turning intentions from a few hundred meters away. It performs exceptionally well in rainy or foggy conditions, as the amber wavelength is less prone to scattering by water droplets or fog, ensuring high visibility even in such weather.
- Installation Overview:1. Remove the old turn signal from your motorcycle's rear fender or bracket. 2.Disconnect the old wiring – note which wire connects to positive/ground (if applicable). 3.Connect the new turn signal's 2 wires to your motorcycle's harness (soldering or crimping may be required for some models). 4.Mount the new signal using the original hardware or included mounting components. 5.Test both left and right signals to ensure proper function before riding.
- Package: 1Pair Turn signal light
2023 Yamaha TW200 price
Yamaha’s 2023 model page listed a starting MSRP of $4,899, with a $325 destination charge and $250 freight surcharge displayed separately. The listed starting MSRP is not an out-the-door quote. Taxes, title, registration, dealer preparation, accessories, and local dealer charges can affect the final transaction, and Yamaha notes that dealer prices may vary. These are historical figures for the 2023 model page, not a current used-market valuation.
Fuel economy and range
Yamaha estimated fuel economy at 78 mpg and lists a 1.8-gallon fuel capacity. The mpg figure is an estimate, not a guaranteed real-world result; fuel range depends on actual consumption and usable fuel. Do not treat a calculation based on the estimate as a promise of how far a specific bike will travel between fill-ups.

2023 Yamaha TW200 photos
Yamaha’s official 2023 model page includes a media gallery with model-year imagery. Those photos show the manufacturer’s presentation of the motorcycle; they are not evidence of measured handling or performance. If an image depicts a rider performing on a closed course, do not treat the maneuver as guidance for public-road or trail riding.
Oil and owner-manual guidance
The Yamaha TW200(C) owner’s manual lists SAE 10W-30 and SAE 20W-40 in its temperature guidance and specifies API Service SE, SF, SG type or higher. Consult the manual’s temperature chart for the conditions in which the motorcycle will be used and verify the oil label. Yamaha cautions that passenger-car oils labeled “ENERGY CONSERVING” contain friction additives that can cause clutch and/or starter-clutch slippage; do not choose a viscosity as universally correct without checking the manual.
