The 2023-model-year Koenigsegg CC850 is a limited-run, CC8S-inspired hypercar with a twin-turbo V8 and a transmission system that can deliver either a gated, clutch-pedal shifting experience or automatic operation. Koenigsegg revealed it in 2022 and announced a total production run of 70 cars. Its official pages do not list a price; a $3.65 million figure appeared in a 2022 Top Gear first-look video title and should be treated only as launch-era reported pricing.
What is the Koenigsegg CC850?
The CC850 is a modern tribute to Koenigsegg’s original CC8S. The company says the car also marks 20 years of vehicle production and founder and CEO Christian von Koenigsegg’s 50th birthday. Its design reinterprets the CC8S in a contemporary form, pairing classic-inspired styling with current Koenigsegg engineering.
Koenigsegg revealed the CC850 in 2022. “2023” refers to the model year, not the year it was first revealed. The manufacturer’s model page includes official exterior, cabin, Engage Shift System and Chronocluster imagery: Koenigsegg CC850 model page. Image availability on the page does not by itself establish permission to reuse the photos.
How much does a Koenigsegg CC850 cost?
Koenigsegg’s current CC850 model and technical-specification pages do not state a price. Top Gear’s November 1, 2022 first-look video title gives a $3.65 million figure. That is secondary, launch-era pricing context—not an official current MSRP, current asking price, resale value or confirmed transaction price. The available information does not establish what a CC850 would cost on the market today.

2023 Koenigsegg CC850 specifications
The figures below are manufacturer-published specifications on Koenigsegg’s current technical page, accessed in 2026. The power figures depend on fuel: 1,185 hp is the gasoline rating, while 1,385 hp is the E85 rating.
| Specification | Koenigsegg figure |
|---|---|
| Engine | Twin-turbocharged aluminum 5.0-liter V8 with a flat-plane crankshaft |
| Power on gasoline | 1,185 hp at 7,800 rpm |
| Power on E85 | 1,385 hp at 7,800 rpm |
| Redline | 8,500 rpm |
| Torque | 1,385 Nm at 4,800 rpm |
| Transmission | Nine-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST) with Engage Shifter System (ESS) |
| Curb weight | 1,385 kg |
| Body and layout | Two-door, two-seat car; carbon-fiber monocoque and removable hardtop |
| Length × width × height | 4,364 × 2,024 × 1,127 mm |
| Wheelbase | 2,700 mm |
| Fuel capacity | 72 liters |
| Brakes | Carbon-ceramic; 410 mm front discs with six-piston calipers and 395 mm rear discs with four-piston calipers |
| Wheels | 20-inch front and 21-inch rear forged wheels |
| Optional tires | Michelin Pilot Sport 4S: 265/35-20 front and 325/30-21 rear |
Koenigsegg describes the E85 version as achieving a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. That claim uses the manufacturer’s 1,385 hp E85 rating and 1,385 kg curb-weight figure; it should not be read as the gasoline-powered car’s output.

How the Engage Shifter System works
The CC850’s defining feature is the Engage Shifter System. Koenigsegg describes it as combining a clutch pedal and gated six-speed manual-style shifting experience with an automatic transmission. Drivers can switch modes, while the underlying transmission is the nine-speed LST.

That means the CC850 should not be described as an ordinary six-speed manual or as a car with only six forward ratios. The six-speed experience is one way the ESS lets the driver interact with the nine-speed transmission.
Inside: the Chronocluster and cockpit
The second-generation Chronocluster uses a single multi-faced dial to display engine speed, vehicle speed and turbo boost. It gives the cockpit an analog instrument presentation while showing several different readings through the same dial. Koenigsegg’s model page includes cabin and Chronocluster images.

Production and availability
Koenigsegg announced that the initial allocation of 50 cars sold out after the CC850’s Monterey reveal. On August 24, 2022, the company said it would add 20 vehicles, bringing the announced production total to 70. The current model page also identifies the CC850 as a limited edition of 70.
In the announcement, Christian von Koenigsegg said: “The response to the CC850 is overwhelming. Producing an additional 20 on top of the planned 50 CC850s is still not even close to demand, but it gives us the chance to consider the brand loyalists to a larger degree, while also welcoming a small portion of new owners.” The limited production figure does not establish whether any cars are currently offered for sale.
