Honda’s published specifications differ slightly between its model-year release and brochure, so the figures below are attributed to the specific source. Recall status is not universal: check an individual motorcycle’s VIN, and account for its market.
2023 Honda CB300R specifications
American Honda’s November 7, 2022 release identifies the US model as the CB300R ABS. The following figures are from that release and are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements.

Honda’s 2023 brochure gives a different set of some figures: 31.6-inch seat height, 316 lb curb weight, and 2.6-gallon fuel capacity. It also differs on rake and suspension travel. The available published information does not explain whether the discrepancies reflect rounding or a specification change. Use one source consistently rather than combining the two tables. Honda’s 2023 CB300R brochure and Honda’s November 2022 specification release are the references for their respective figures.
What Honda included and how it describes the bike
ABS is standard on the 2023 US CB300R, according to Honda’s brochure. Honda describes the compact engine as free-revving and responsive, intended for both town riding and highway use, and says it is shared with the CBR300R. Those are manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance findings.
The brochure says Honda’s ABS can help with controlled stops on compromised surfaces such as wet pavement. It is a braking aid, not a guarantee against a crash or a replacement for appropriate speed, traction, and following distance.
Is a 2023 Honda CB300R recalled?
There is no blanket yes-or-no answer. Two notices are relevant, but they concern different markets and issues, and neither establishes that every 2023 motorcycle is affected. Check the VIN with Honda or an authorized motorcycle dealer for the motorcycle’s current status.

Canadian notice: possible oil leak
Transport Canada’s notice, updated April 21, 2023, includes certain 2023 Honda CB300R motorcycles in Canada. It says the right-side engine crankcase cover could leak oil onto the exhaust pipe and/or rear tire, creating fire or handling risks. The notice says Honda would notify owners and direct them to a Honda motorcycle dealership to have the cover replaced. This Canadian notice does not establish recall applicability to motorcycles in other markets. Read Transport Canada’s recall notice.
US notice: headlight assembly
A separate 2025 American Honda dealer notice hosted by NHTSA concerns certain 2018–2025 CB300R motorcycles and a headlight-assembly defect associated with road and engine vibration. Dealers are directed to check affected units by VIN and carry out the described repair. The model-year range does not mean every 2023 CB300R is included. Consult the NHTSA-hosted notice and contact Honda or an authorized dealer with the VIN.

Where to find the 2023 CB300R owner’s manual
Honda’s US owner’s-manual portal lets you select a year and model and includes the CB300R in its catalog. Use it to check for current digital documentation: Honda owner’s-manual portal.
A printed, factory-issued manual is listed specifically for the 2023 CB300R as part number 31K0AA40. The listing describes safety information, maintenance schedules, storage and appearance care, routine maintenance such as oil changes, technical information, and troubleshooting. Retail inventory and price can change; confirm the edition and availability with the seller before ordering. Check the 2023 manual listing.
