The 2022 Honda ADV350 is a first-year, Europe-focused mid-sized adventure-style scooter with a 330cc single-cylinder engine, 28.8 horsepower, strong urban acceleration, credible 70-mph-plus highway ability, 48 liters of under-seat storage, and suspension designed to handle poor pavement better than a conventional GT scooter. It launched at £5,599 in the UK and €6,990 in Italy, depending on market. It was not officially sold through American Honda dealers, so there is no legitimate U.S. MSRP to quote.
The ADV350 is best understood as a rough-road scooter with adventure styling and light-trail ability, not as a small dual-sport motorcycle. It is more convincing on patched city streets, twisty paved roads, gravel access roads, and everyday commuting than on mud, sand, technical trails, or terrain that requires standing on the pegs.

These are the detailed figures from Honda’s 22YM ADV350 technical release and the 2022 Honda scooter brochure. Honda’s launch release contains apparent editorial inconsistencies: one section quotes 21.6 kW and 31.9 Nm, while its detailed engine and specification sections use 21.5 kW and 31.5 Nm. The latter figures are also repeated in the brochure and later specifications, so they are the sensible reference values for a 2022 specification.
What is the Honda ADV350?
The ADV350 is Honda’s middleweight automatic scooter built around the company’s 330cc engine platform. It is mechanically related to the Forza 350 and SH350i, but it is not simply a Forza with different body panels. Honda gave it longer-travel suspension, greater ground clearance, a more upright riding position, block-pattern tires, adventure-inspired bodywork, and styling cues from the larger X-ADV 750.

Honda introduced it as a “city adventure” machine for urban riding, rough pavement, and flat dirt roads. The styling suggests an off-road motorcycle, but the underlying priorities remain those of a practical scooter: automatic transmission, weather protection, integrated storage, passenger accommodation, and easy stop-and-go operation. Honda’s own design description is available through its ADV350 design page.
There was no earlier ADV350 generation. The 2022 model is the original launch version, sometimes designated 22YM ADV350. That distinction matters because current Honda pages show equipment from later model years that was not fitted to the first-year scooter.
Engine and transmission
The 2022 ADV350 uses a 330cc liquid-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine with a SOHC cylinder head and four valves. It has Honda’s enhanced Smart Power Plus, or eSP+, architecture, electronic PGM-FI fuel injection, a counterbalancer, Euro 5 emissions compliance, an automatic centrifugal clutch, continuously variable transmission, and V-belt final drive.
| Engine detail | 2022 specification |
|---|---|
| Displacement | 330cc |
| Bore × stroke | 77 × 70.8 mm |
| Compression ratio | 10.5:1 |
| Maximum power | 21.5 kW / 28.8 hp at 7,500 rpm |
| Maximum torque | 31.5 Nm / 23.2 lb-ft at 5,250 rpm |
| Fuel system | Electronic fuel injection |
| Transmission | Automatic CVT |
| Final drive | V-belt |
| Emissions standard | Euro 5 |
In town, the engine and CVT provide smooth, immediate response without clutch work or gear selection. The ADV350 is substantially more capable than a 125cc or 160cc scooter when joining faster traffic, climbing hills, carrying luggage, or riding with a passenger. Its counterbalancer also helps keep the single-cylinder engine reasonably refined at sustained road speeds.

The honest answer is that it is a 70-mph-plus highway scooter, but published top-speed claims should not be treated as one universal number. Honda’s later UK specification page lists 133 km/h, or about 83 mph, as maximum speed. Italian road testing by inSella recorded 136.7 km/h and 0–100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. MCN lists 95 mph, while Visordown describes approximately 90-plus mph, but those sources do not establish a common GPS-based test method.
The difference is likely a mixture of indicated versus true speed, test conditions, rider size, wind, road gradient, luggage, tire condition, and windscreen position. A stock scooter that reaches a high indicated number in favorable conditions should not be assumed to deliver 95 mph of true, repeatable speed.
For normal ownership, the more useful conclusion is that the ADV350 can cruise around 70 mph and is suitable for motorway or equivalent highway commuting. Above approximately 70–75 mph, acceleration becomes more dependent on wind, rider weight, gradient, and luggage. Its upright adventure bodywork is also less aerodynamically efficient than the Forza 350’s more conventional GT shape.
Independent inSella test results
| Test | Result |
|---|---|
| Top speed | 136.7 km/h |
| 0–100 km/h | 8.8 seconds |
| 400 meters | 16.4 seconds |
| Fuel economy at 90 km/h | 33.9 km/L |
| Fuel economy at 120 km/h | 22.9 km/L |
| Fuel economy at maximum speed | 15.0 km/L |
| Calculated range in one test condition | 396.3 km |
| Calculated range at continuous maximum speed | 164.6 km |
These are results from one independent test, not guaranteed figures for every rider or climate. They do show why the scooter feels relaxed in urban use and usable on highways, while also showing how rapidly fuel consumption rises at high speed.

Fuel economy and practical range
Honda’s detailed 2022 material quotes 29.4 km/L under WMTC testing, while the brochure rounds that figure to approximately 30 km/L. Later Honda specifications show about 3.4 L/100 km. With the 11.7-liter tank, a simple theoretical calculation produces approximately 344 km, or 214 miles, before accounting for reserve strategy.
Real range can be higher during steady-speed secondary-road riding or lower during high-speed motorway travel, cold weather, heavy traffic, two-up riding, strong headwinds, or frequent full-throttle acceleration. Riders should plan fuel stops using their own trip-computer and reserve experience rather than treating the theoretical calculation as a safe reserve-to-reserve distance.
Chassis, suspension, wheels, and brakes
| Chassis item | 2022 specification |
|---|---|
| Frame | Steel underbone/tubular-steel structure |
| Front suspension | 37 mm upside-down fork |
| Front travel | 125 mm |
| Rear suspension | Twin shocks with remote reservoirs |
| Rear travel | 130 mm |
| Ground clearance | 145 mm |
| Wheelbase | 1,520 mm |
| Wet weight | 186 kg |
| Front wheel and tire | 15-inch; 120/70-15 |
| Rear wheel and tire | 14-inch; 140/70-14 |
| Front brake | 256 mm disc with two-piston Nissin caliper |
| Rear brake | 240 mm disc with single-piston Nissin caliper |
| ABS | Two-channel |
The 37 mm upside-down fork and remote-reservoir rear shocks are more substantial than the suspension hardware normally associated with a basic urban scooter. The large front wheel helps stability over broken surfaces, while the 1,520 mm wheelbase and scooter proportions retain manageable low-speed steering.

Independent tests generally praise the ADV350’s stable cornering, road feel, and composure on rough pavement. It can feel more like a motorcycle than a basic scooter when ridden quickly through bends. The main trade-off is ride firmness: sharp-edged potholes, expansion joints, and abrupt urban bumps can feel harsh, particularly for riders expecting the softest possible GT-scooter ride. The Visordown, MCN, and inSella road tests all provide useful context on the suspension and handling balance.

Is the ADV350 genuinely off-road capable?
Only within a narrow definition of off-road. The ADV350 is useful when the “off-road” section of a journey consists of broken pavement, potholes, hard-packed gravel, a firm flat dirt road, or a light trail taken at moderate speed. Its extra suspension travel, ground clearance, upright ergonomics, and traction control give it more poor-road tolerance than a conventional GT scooter.
| Surface or use | Assessment |
|---|---|
| Patched urban roads and potholes | One of its strongest use cases |
| Twisty paved backroads | Very capable and enjoyable |
| Firm gravel access roads | Suitable at sensible speeds |
| Flat dirt tracks | Possible with appropriate tires and judgment |
| Deep loose gravel | Demanding; limited by weight and scooter layout |
| Mud or sand | Poor match |
| Technical single-track or steep terrain | Not an appropriate machine |
| Aggressive standing riding | Floorboards do not provide normal adventure-bike footing |
At 186 kg wet, the ADV350 is a substantial machine to recover if it falls or becomes stuck. The floorboard riding position also makes it difficult to stand securely and shift body weight as on a true adventure or dual-sport motorcycle. Cast wheels, scooter geometry, limited tire choice, and the lack of a conventional motorcycle cockpit further define its limits.
Best description: a rough-road scooter with adventure styling and light-trail ability—not a small adventure motorcycle.
HSTC traction control: useful, but not magic
The two-level Honda Selectable Torque Control system limits engine torque when it detects rear-wheel spin. According to the 2022 owner’s manual, HSTC does not operate during deceleration, does not prevent every rear-wheel skid, and cannot compensate for abrupt throttle inputs, poor tires, or a slippery and uneven surface.
Lower intervention settings can allow some wheelspin. Honda also provides a way to switch the system off, which can help free the scooter in some mud, sand, or loose-surface situations. That does not turn the ADV350 into an off-road motorcycle; it simply prevents traction control from reducing drive when controlled wheelspin is useful. Always restore the system for normal paved-road riding.
Comfort, storage, and standard equipment
The 795 mm seat height is approachable for many riders, although seat width and the scooter’s 186 kg mass affect how easy it feels to maneuver at a stop. The riding position is upright, with a broad floorboard area and folding passenger footrests. Passenger grab rails and the relatively generous seat make two-up commuting or short touring realistic.
Standard 2022 equipment included:
- Full LED lighting, including dual LED headlights.
- A manually adjustable windscreen with four positions and 133 mm of adjustment.
- 48-liter under-seat storage.
- Honda Smart Key.
- USB-C socket in the front glovebox.
- LCD instrument panel.
- Honda Smartphone Voice Control system.
- Two-level HSTC traction control.
- Emergency Stop Signal.
- Two-channel ABS.
- Passenger grab rails and folding passenger footrests.
Under-seat storage
Honda claims the 48-liter compartment can hold two full-face helmets, which is a major practical advantage over many motorcycles and smaller scooters. That claim depends on helmet shell size, chin-bar design, intercom hardware, and the position of any storage divider. A buyer should place their actual helmets in the scooter before assuming the advertised capacity will work for them.
2022 connectivity is not the later TFT system
The original scooter used a negative LCD display and an Android-oriented Honda Smartphone Voice Control system that required a compatible helmet-mounted Bluetooth headset and Honda’s RoadSync app. It should not be described as having the later model’s full iOS-and-Android TFT/RoadSync functionality.
2022 versus later Honda ADV350 models
Honda updated the ADV350 for later model years. Current UK pages show the evolutionary version priced at £5,999, with a 5-inch TFT display, expanded RoadSync compatibility, under-seat lighting, auto-cancelling indicators, revised rear shocks, and other detail changes. Honda’s 2025 update announcement lists the principal changes.
| Feature | 2022 ADV350 | Later updated version |
|---|---|---|
| Instrument panel | Negative LCD | 5-inch TFT |
| Phone connectivity | Android-oriented Smartphone Voice Control setup | Expanded RoadSync compatibility with Android and iOS devices |
| Under-seat lighting | Not part of the launch specification | Added |
| Indicators | Original manual operation | Auto-cancelling indicators added |
| Rear suspension | Remote-reservoir twin shocks | Revised, preload-adjustable remote-reservoir shocks |
| Engine | 330cc eSP+ single | Essentially unchanged for the 2025 update |
When examining photographs or listings, check the instrument panel carefully. A TFT-equipped scooter is not a 2022 example merely because the seller uses a generic ADV350 image. Honda’s current UK overview also warns that displayed imagery can include different model years.

Pricing was market-specific rather than global. The contemporary UK price was £5,599, according to Visordown’s 2022 road test. Italian coverage listed the scooter at €6,990 through inSella. These figures should not be converted into a single worldwide MSRP because taxes, freight, registration, dealer fees, and market positioning differ.
Historically, the UK ADV350 was positioned below the Suzuki Burgman 400 and Yamaha XMAX 300, while the Forza 350 was slightly less expensive. Those were launch-period comparisons and should not be treated as current pricing.
What does one cost now?
For context, Honda’s UK listing consulted for this article on August 9, 2026 shows the later ADV350 at £5,999. That is not the 2022 launch price and should not be placed in the original specification box.
Used-market references provide a more useful starting point for a 2022 buyer:
Recommended Free Tools
- MCN lists a used range of approximately £4,600–£5,200, with its page updated in 2025.
- 1000PS model-year data shows an average 2022 market price of approximately £4,642.
- UK Auto Trader listings show later examples in the low-to-mid £4,000s, depending on mileage, registration year, dealer status, accessories, and condition.
These are snapshots, not guaranteed valuations. A low-mileage, one-owner scooter with a complete Honda service history and remaining warranty can justify a premium; a high-mileage example with worn tires, overdue fluids, missing keys, or questionable CVT noise should be priced materially lower. Check MCN’s used overview, 1000PS model-year data, and live Auto Trader listings for the market in which you are buying.
Is the ADV350 sold in the United States?
No—not as an official American Honda model. Honda’s U.S. powersports lineup lists the smaller ADV160 but not the ADV350. Honda’s global material identifies the ADV350 as a model sold outside Japan, and European listings should not be interpreted as evidence of normal U.S. dealer availability.
A U.S. buyer may be able to investigate a private import, but that is a separate question involving federal and state registration, emissions and safety compliance, parts support, title history, and insurance. It would be misleading to quote a U.S. MSRP or describe the ADV350 as available through the normal American Honda network. The official Honda U.S. product lineup and Honda U.S. comparison tool are the appropriate availability references.
2022 ADV350 ownership details buyers should know
Load limits
The 2022 owner’s manual specifies a maximum combined load of 180 kg / 397 lb for rider, passenger, accessories, and luggage. It also lists a maximum luggage weight of 16.5 kg / 36 lb, a 10 kg / 22 lb limit for the under-seat compartment, 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb for the glovebox, and 5 kg / 11 lb for the rear carrier where fitted.
These limits are easy to overlook when adding a top box, passenger, heated accessories, camping luggage, and a full under-seat compartment. A 50-liter top box does not automatically mean it can be filled to its physical capacity; follow the carrier and accessory limits as well as the owner’s manual.

Tire pressures
The referenced European owner’s manual specifies cold pressures of 29 psi front and 33 psi rear, or 200 and 225 kPa. It lists those pressures for solo and two-up riding. Confirm the pressure label on the individual scooter and the market-specific manual before relying on those numbers.
Fuel and running in
The manual specifies unleaded fuel of 95 RON or higher and permits ethanol up to 10 percent by volume in the referenced European market. Fuel labeling differs by country.
During the first 500 km / 300 miles, Honda instructs owners to avoid full-throttle starts, rapid acceleration, and hard braking. A used 2022 scooter should therefore have a believable early service history rather than simply a low odometer reading.
Maintenance
The owner’s manual lays out recurring inspection points at 1,000 km and then at 12,000-km intervals, with additional time-based requirements. Final-drive oil and brake fluid are specified at two-year intervals, while coolant is specified at three years. Air-cleaner and breather servicing may need to be more frequent in unusually wet, dusty, rainy, or full-throttle use.
Ownership cost should not be reduced to an oil-change interval. The belt case, drive belt, clutch, brakes, coolant, wheel bearings, steering-head bearings, suspension, and tires all deserve inspection. The complete 2022 owner’s manual should be used to verify the schedule for the scooter’s market.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Used 2022 Honda ADV350 inspection checklist
A 2022 ADV350 can be an appealing used buy, but its age makes condition and maintenance history more important than the model badge. Before paying, inspect or arrange a professional inspection covering the following:
- Start it cold. Check idle quality, warning lights, unusual vibration, hard starting, and smoke. Do not rely only on a warmed-up engine at a dealer.
- Test the CVT takeoff. Judder, grinding, abnormal vibration, or a delayed engagement can point to clutch, belt-case, or pulley work.
- Listen to the driven pulley and transmission. Honda Taiwan published a campaign affecting some imported 2021–2022 Forza 350s and 2022 ADV350s for a driven-pulley assembly issue. The reported symptoms included abnormal friction noise, cracking sounds, separation of components, and noticeable loss of drive. This is evidence of a Taiwan-market campaign, not proof that every ADV350 worldwide is affected; have a local Honda distributor check the VIN.
- Inspect the fork seals and rear shocks. Look for oil seepage, pitted fork tubes, leaking shock reservoirs, uneven sag, and poor rebound control. Secondary used-bike reports mention fork seepage and rear-shock wear as inspection points, not as proof of a universal defect.
- Check steering and wheels. Feel for notchiness in the steering-head bearings, damaged rims, wheel-bearing play, or signs of a hard impact.
- Test the brakes and ABS. Confirm that the ABS warning light behaves normally after moving off, and inspect disc thickness, grooves, pad wear, and caliper condition.
- Verify the electronics. Test the Smart Key, spare key, LCD display, USB-C socket, switchgear, lights, HSTC indicators, and any Bluetooth equipment included with the sale.
- Operate the windscreen. Check all four positions, fasteners, rattles, and evidence of cracked mounting points.
- Inspect bodywork and storage. Check the under-seat hinge and latch, glovebox, floorboards, fairing fasteners, exhaust, and signs of water or mud intrusion.
- Review records. Look for scheduled services, final-drive oil, brake-fluid and coolant replacement, belt or CVT work, tires, recalls, and service campaigns. Confirm the VIN with Honda rather than accepting a seller’s verbal assurance.
Owner reports and secondary coverage mention occasional starting complaints, CVT noise, screen or fairing rattles, fork seepage, and rear-shock wear. These should be treated as things to inspect on an individual used scooter—not as evidence that the entire ADV350 model is broadly unreliable.

Honda Forza 350
The Forza 350 shares the same broad 330cc Honda engine family but is optimized more heavily for paved touring. It offers a more conventional GT shape and generally better aerodynamic efficiency and wind protection. The ADV350 counters with longer suspension travel, higher ground clearance, block-pattern tires, a more upright stance, and better composure on rough pavement.
Choose the Forza 350 if most riding is smooth pavement, long-distance touring, and maximum weather protection. Choose the ADV350 if urban surfaces are poor, chassis character matters, and occasional gravel or flat dirt roads are part of the plan.
Yamaha XMAX 300
The Yamaha XMAX 300 is the closest mainstream cross-shopping rival. A comparative test describes both as premium middleweight scooters with similar 15-inch front and 14-inch rear wheel layouts and broadly similar seat heights. The XMAX leans toward conventional city and GT use, while the ADV350 emphasizes adventure styling, suspension travel, and rough-road confidence. See the Dueruote comparison, but date both vehicles before comparing prices or equipment.
Honda X-ADV 750
The X-ADV is a much larger and more expensive machine with considerably more engine performance and Honda’s dual-clutch transmission. The ADV350 is lighter, simpler, cheaper, and easier to manage in town. It is an accessible sibling in the same design family, not a scaled-down equivalent of the X-ADV.

Honda ADV160
The ADV160 is the official American Honda alternative for U.S. shoppers who want Honda’s adventure-scooter styling. It is smaller and less powerful than the ADV350, so it should not be presented as a direct performance equivalent. For a U.S. buyer who needs factory dealer support, the ADV160 is the relevant Honda comparison; the ADV350 is an import question.
Suzuki Burgman 400
The Burgman 400 was a historical UK-market comparison at the ADV350’s launch. It is a larger, more conventional luxury scooter, while the ADV350 emphasizes lower weight, a more active chassis, and rough-surface versatility. Current prices and availability vary by country and model year.
Who should buy a used 2022 ADV350?
- Good fit: commuters who need automatic convenience but regularly encounter poor pavement.
- Good fit: riders who want more performance than a 125–160cc scooter without moving to an X-ADV 750.
- Good fit: riders who value handling, upright ergonomics, useful storage, and occasional firm gravel or dirt roads.
- Less suitable: riders whose priority is the best possible wind protection and soft GT comfort; the Forza 350 may be better.
- Less suitable: riders seeking serious off-road performance, standing ergonomics, or technical-trail capability; a true dual-sport or adventure motorcycle is the better tool.
- Less suitable: iPhone users who specifically want the later full TFT/RoadSync experience; verify the model year instead of assuming every ADV350 has it.
- Less suitable: buyers who need to carry bulky luggage without checking the actual helmet, top-box, and load-limit situation in person.
Verdict
The 2022 Honda ADV350 is a strong first-year design for riders who want one machine to cover city traffic, rough pavement, backroad fun, and occasional hard-packed dirt. Its 330cc single delivers enough performance for normal highway work, the CVT makes commuting effortless, and the 48-liter storage compartment is unusually useful. The USD fork, long travel, large front wheel, and stable handling give it more substance than an ordinary commuter scooter.
Its limits are just as important. The suspension can be firm over sharp bumps, the upright bodywork is less aerodynamic than a Forza 350, and the floorboard layout, 186 kg weight, cast wheels, and scooter geometry make serious off-road riding a poor idea. The 2022 LCD and Android-oriented connectivity system also lack the convenience of the later TFT-equipped ADV350.

For a used buyer, the best value is a properly documented example with quiet CVT operation, dry suspension, healthy brakes, working Smart Key and electronics, complete keys, and a VIN checked with the local Honda distributor. In the UK, the available reference range of roughly £4,600–£5,200—and a reported 2022 average near £4,642—gives a useful starting point, but condition and history should determine the final price. For American readers, remember that the ADV350 was not an official U.S. model and should not be evaluated as though it had a normal Honda dealer MSRP.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 2022 Honda ADV350 the first model year?
Yes. Honda introduced the ADV350 for model year 2022; there was no earlier ADV350 generation. It was launched primarily for European markets.
Does the 2022 Honda ADV350 have the later 5-inch TFT display and full RoadSync system?
No. The 2022 model uses a negative LCD display and an Android-oriented Honda Smartphone Voice Control system. The 5-inch TFT, expanded Android and iOS RoadSync compatibility, under-seat lighting, auto-cancelling indicators, and revised rear shocks belong to later updates.
Can the Honda ADV350 be used off-road?
It can handle broken pavement, firm gravel, flat dirt roads, and light trails at sensible speeds. It is not suited to technical single-track, deep sand, mud, steep terrain, or aggressive standing riding.

No. The ADV350 was not officially sold through American Honda. The smaller ADV160 is the Honda adventure-style scooter listed for the U.S. market; an ADV350 would require investigating private import and registration requirements.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The 2022 Honda ADV350 is a capable, practical European middleweight scooter—not a true off-road motorcycle. It makes the most sense as a rough-road commuter and sporty all-rounder, especially when bought used with complete service records and a verified VIN. Expect approximately 70-mph-plus cruising, not guaranteed 95-mph true speed; use roughly £4,600–£5,200 as a dated UK used-market reference rather than a universal valuation; and do not confuse the original LCD-equipped 2022 scooter with the later TFT-equipped models.
