The 2018 Nissan Rogue is a five-seat compact SUV offered with a gasoline engine or, in some U.S. regions, a hybrid powertrain. It is not self-driving: select configurations offered ProPILOT Assist, a limited driver-assistance system for single-lane highway driving that still requires an attentive driver with hands on the wheel.
Is the 2018 Nissan Rogue self-driving?
No. Nissan’s 2018 owner’s manual states: “ProPILOT Assist is not a self-driving system and only helps the driver with certain driving activities within its capabilities.” The system can assist with steering, braking and acceleration during single-lane highway driving, but it does not take responsibility for driving.
Nissan describes ProPILOT Assist as an aid, not a replacement for safe driving. The manual says it is intended for highway use rather than city driving, may not keep the Rogue in its lane in all conditions, and requires the driver to stay alert, keep hands on the steering wheel and remain in control. Does every 2018 Rogue have ProPILOT Assist?
No. Nissan offered it on select configurations and packages, not across the entire model range. The 2018 U.S. lineup included S, SV and SL gasoline trims, with hybrid versions documented separately. Check the individual vehicle’s window sticker or equipment list before assuming it has ProPILOT Assist or another specific feature.

Nissan listed NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard for the 2018 line. Equipment can still vary by configuration, so confirm the actual vehicle’s features rather than relying only on its trim badge. What engine and fuel economy does the 2018 Rogue have?
The standard gasoline Rogue uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder rated by Nissan at 170 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque, paired with Nissan’s Xtronic transmission. Front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) were offered.

Nissan said the hybrid was offered in four U.S. regions, so its availability was not universal nationwide. How much cargo space does the 2018 Rogue have?
Nissan listed seating for five. Standard configurations provide 39.3 cubic feet of cargo volume behind the second row and 70.0 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. For configurations with a moonroof, the brochure lists lower figures: 27.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 61.4 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. The Rogue also includes Nissan’s Divide-N-Hide cargo system. Confirm the configuration when comparing listings, especially if cargo capacity is a priority.

What should you check before buying a used 2018 Rogue?
- Verify the powertrain and drivetrain. Confirm whether the vehicle is gasoline or hybrid and whether it is FWD or AWD; both affect the published fuel-economy estimates.
- Confirm installed equipment. Use the vehicle’s window sticker or equipment record to establish whether it has ProPILOT Assist, a moonroof or other package-specific features.
- Check recalls by VIN. Recall applicability is specific to the vehicle. Enter its VIN in the NHTSA recall lookup rather than assuming a model-wide status.
- Look up crash-test information separately. No crash-test rating is established here; consult an authoritative rating lookup, such as NHTSA’s vehicle safety ratings, for information available for the exact model.
If shopping for replacement floor mats, check fitment against the Rogue’s model year, trim and configuration before ordering; a model name alone does not establish that a particular set fits.
