Chevrolet says the 2025 Corvette ZR1 makes 1,064 horsepower and can cover the quarter-mile in 9.6 seconds at 150 mph—but that elapsed time is for a car equipped with the available ZTK Performance Package. Chevrolet lists 9.7 seconds for the standard ZR1. Both are manufacturer-reported, closed-course performance claims, not independent test results.
What Chevrolet claims about the ZR1’s power
The 2025 ZR1’s 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged LT7 DOHC V8 has a flat-plane crank. Chevrolet rates it at 1,064 hp at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm under SAE guidelines. These are engine-output ratings, not wheel-horsepower figures. Chevrolet’s January 9, 2025 announcement gives the specifications.
Which ZR1 configuration gets the 9.6-second quarter-mile?
Chevrolet associates a 9.6-second quarter-mile at 150 mph with the available ZTK Performance Package. In its December 18, 2024 announcement, Chevrolet listed a 9.7-second quarter-mile for the standard ZR1. The package distinction matters: the 9.6-second figure is not the published claim for every ZR1. Chevrolet’s December 18 release provides the standard-car figure.
The January release also cites 0–60 mph in 2.3 seconds for the ZTK-equipped performance claim. Chevrolet’s footnote qualifies its performance numbers as achieved on a closed course and based on initial vehicle movement. The figures should therefore be understood as Chevrolet’s stated results, not a guarantee of what an owner will record in different conditions.

How to read the performance numbers
Quarter-mile elapsed time, trap speed, acceleration, and top speed describe different things. The 9.6-second result is the elapsed time over a quarter-mile; 150 mph is the speed associated with that run. It is not the ZR1’s top speed.
Chevrolet separately reported that GM President Mark Reuss drove a ZR1 to 233 mph at a test track in Papenburg, Germany. That is a distinct top-speed claim, not the quarter-mile trap speed. Chevrolet’s December 2024 release reports the Papenburg run.
