It was a one-off continuation of a 2005 right-hand-drive Zonda F: after a crash and a series of rebuilds and name changes, the car received another update that returned it to a manual gearbox. A 2017 report by Mick Chan for Paul Tan’s Automotive News describes the updated car with a naturally aspirated 7.3-litre AMG V12 and rear-wheel drive.
What is the Pagani Zonda Fantasma Evo?
It is the latest reported identity of one evolving Zonda, rather than a separate production trim offered alongside other Zonda models. Its story runs from an original Zonda F through a 760-specification rebuild and the names 760 SH and Fantasma, before the 2017 update made it Fantasma Evo.
The model-specific account comes from Chan’s 26 July 2017 report. Pagani’s official Rinascimento material explains the company’s broader restoration approach, but it is not a Fantasma Evo specification sheet or a record of this car’s individual work.

What engine and transmission did the 2017 update have?
Chan’s 2017 report describes the Fantasma Evo with an AMG-sourced, naturally aspirated 7.3-litre V12 driving the rear wheels, paired with a manual transmission. The manual is notable because the report says the preceding iterations used a sequential gearbox.
How much horsepower does it have?
The report’s headline calls the car a 760 hp Zonda, while its body describes the rebuild as being to “Zonda 760 specification.” That is the basis for the commonly repeated 760 hp figure; the available account is automotive reporting, not a dedicated Pagani technical sheet confirming the Evo’s output. The figure should therefore be attributed to the report rather than treated as an independently verified factory specification.

What does Pagani’s restoration program tell us?
Pagani describes Rinascimento as a program to conserve early Pagani cars and return them to their original factory appearance. The company says restoration can involve mechanical parts and systems, interiors, and worn components. It also describes using original documentation, retained molds, methods, and materials to restore original carbon-fibre parts.
This provides context for Pagani’s preservation philosophy, not proof that every listed procedure was used on the Fantasma Evo. Pagani’s 2019 Zonda anniversary release also describes restoring and presenting chassis 001, a car used for homologation and crash tests; that is a different Zonda and should not be confused with the Fantasma Evo’s history.

The cited model-specific account dates to 2017. It does not establish the car’s current owner, location, condition, value, or any modifications made after the reported update. Nor does it provide a verified model-specific acceleration time, top speed, weight, or production count. Those details should not be inferred from other Zonda variants.
