The 2015 Harley-Davidson SuperLow is the XL883L, powered by an 883cc Evolution V-twin. It is not the separate SuperLow 1200T (XL1200T). Harley-Davidson’s archived 2015 Australia-facing specifications list 71 Nm of torque, a 17 L fuel tank, a 695 mm seat height and 245 kg dry weight; regional specifications and measurement bases matter when comparing bikes or ordering parts.
Which motorcycle is the 2015 SuperLow?
Harley-Davidson’s 2015 VIN table identifies the XL 883L SuperLow with model code CR. The company lists the XL 1200T SuperLow 1200T separately, so “SuperLow” alone is not enough to identify the engine or parts fitment. Check the frame VIN, registration documents and market specification when assessing a used motorcycle.
The 2015 model-year archive describes the SuperLow as an 883cc V-twin Sportster with a low seat and low centre of gravity. That is Harley-Davidson’s description, not an independent handling test. The archive is Australia-facing and marked no longer maintained: Harley-Davidson’s archived 2015 SuperLow page.

Seat height: why published figures can differ
Harley-Davidson’s Australia-facing 2015 archive lists 695 mm. A separate Harley-Davidson manual table for the SuperLow XL883L gives 25.5 inches with an 81.7 kg (180 lb) rider seated, but that table is from a 2020 manual, not a 2015 specification sheet. The rider-loaded measurement and different model-year source make it unsuitable for silently substituting for the 2015 archive figure.
For a specific used motorcycle, market, suspension setup and measurement method can affect what a published number means. If comparing seat heights, use figures stated on the same basis rather than treating an unloaded or dry-market specification as directly interchangeable with a rider-loaded one.

Is the SuperLow 1200T the same model?
No. The 1200T is a separate 1,200cc model, identified in Harley-Davidson’s 2015 materials as XL1200T; the SuperLow covered here is XL883L. The distinction matters for engine specifications, equipment and replacement-part compatibility. Confirm the full model designation and VIN rather than relying on a listing that says only “SuperLow.” Harley-Davidson’s 2015 VIN model table distinguishes the model names and codes.
Parts, tires and oil-change kits: how to verify fitment
Use the exact motorcycle identity before ordering. Harley-Davidson’s parts-catalog guidance asks customers to provide the complete 17-digit VIN for inquiries, and a retailer’s 2015 XL883L results page lists model-specific parts and an oil-change kit. A listing is a starting point, not proof that every item fits a given market configuration.

- Confirm the bike: Match the frame VIN, registration/title and seller’s model description to XL883L—not XL1200T.
- Check the exact item: Verify year, XL883L fitment and market in the seller’s documentation; for a fitment question, provide the complete 17-digit VIN to the catalog or dealer.
- For tires: Use the motorcycle’s own tire placard and correct manual as the final check, even when a catalog lists the 120 front / 150 rear sizes.
- For oil service: Confirm the kit’s contents and fitment, and check the applicable 2015 manual for fluid specifications and service procedure. The available product listing does not establish an oil specification or prove that any particular kit is correct.

The Australia-facing archive describes ABS and security as standard, but that statement should not be generalized to every market. Check the specific bike’s equipment and documentation rather than assuming those features are present.

Harley-Davidson’s manual warns that electrical accessories can exceed the charging system’s capacity and discharge the battery. It also cautions that off-road or competition performance parts may affect some or all limited-warranty coverage. For a used bike with added accessories, consider whether the electrical load and installation are appropriate; warranty consequences depend on the applicable terms and circumstances.
Handlebar or control changes require particular care. Harley-Davidson’s handlebar installation instructions call for service-manual procedures, compatible parts, brake-line gasket replacement and checks that cables and brake lines do not bind through full steering. The instruction’s fitment table does not list the 2015 XL883L, so it is not evidence that the referenced kit fits this motorcycle. Do not treat the sheet as a fitment recommendation.

What the published figures do not establish
- They do not establish real-world acceleration, fuel economy, reliability or a particular rider’s experience.
- The 245 kg figure is explicitly dry weight; it should not be compared as if it were a wet or curb-weight number.
- They do not verify a specific bike’s condition, recall status, local availability or asking price. Those questions require the bike’s VIN, location and current records or listing.
- They do not specify service intervals, exact oil requirements or the contents and compatibility of a named kit; use the correct market’s 2015 manual and seller documentation for those details.
