For operating instructions and service intervals, use Triumph’s June 2013 owner handbook, publication 3856930, issue 1, and confirm it applies to your bike’s market and version.
2013 Triumph Scrambler specifications
Triumph describes the 865cc Scrambler as a road-based motorcycle with classic scrambles styling and a specially tuned parallel twin. That description is not evidence of modern off-road capability. The 2013 listing identifies the engine as fuel-injected and air-cooled; J.D. Power’s specification page independently lists the displacement, parallel-twin layout, fuel injection, five-speed manual transmission and chain drive.

Where to find the 2013 Triumph Scrambler owner’s manual
Triumph’s 2013 Scrambler owner handbook is a manufacturer PDF. It is dated June 2013 and identifies publication part number 3856930, issue 1. Its contents cover identification, general information, riding, accessories and loading, maintenance and adjustment, storage, and specifications.

Before following its instructions, check that the handbook matches your motorcycle’s market and version. Triumph notes that the information reflects what was available when the handbook was printed and may change.
How to use the maintenance schedule
The handbook separates the first service, annual service, and mileage-based services. Its schedule includes 6,000- and 18,000-mile, 12,000-mile, and 24,000-mile intervals, with metric equivalents, and directs owners to use whichever comes first: mileage or time. Use the handbook’s table for the precise operations and intervals rather than treating this summary as a service checklist.

For a used motorcycle, compare the schedule with dated service records and the bike’s actual use. A model-wide schedule cannot establish whether a particular Scrambler has been maintained or whether an inspection item is currently in good condition.
Chain inspection and care
The Scrambler’s chain-driven drivetrain makes chain condition a practical maintenance concern. Triumph’s handbook includes chain-wear inspection instructions; follow those instructions for the inspection and adjustment relevant to your bike.

The handbook supports the maintenance task, not a particular cleaner, lubricant, tool, or product’s compatibility. Check that any supplies you choose are suitable for the motorcycle’s chain setup and follow their labels alongside the handbook.

Triumph’s 2013 handbook states: “This motorcycle is designed for on-road use only. It is not suitable for off-road use.” Treat that as the manufacturer’s guidance when considering how the motorcycle will be used.

When assessing an individual bike, distinguish its advertised model specifications from its condition. Review the handbook’s applicability and service records, and inspect wear items such as the chain, brakes, and tires. The specifications and handbook do not establish a particular motorcycle’s condition, service history, current value, reliability rate, or recall status.
