The 2013 BMW F700GS is a middleweight adventure-style motorcycle powered by a 798 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin. BMW lists its output at 55 kW (75 bhp) at 7,300 rpm and torque at 77 Nm at 4,500 rpm. It came with two-channel ABS and twin front discs as standard in BMW’s launch materials; ASC traction control and ESA electronic suspension adjustment were factory options. Equipment, manuals and recall applicability should be confirmed for the particular bike and market.
2013 BMW F700GS specs
BMW’s March 2013 specification sheet identifies the engine as a 798 cc, water-cooled, two-cylinder parallel twin with DOHC and four valves per cylinder. The F700GS model name does not indicate the engine’s displacement.

Does the 2013 BMW F700GS have ABS?
Yes. BMW’s announcement for the updated F700GS describes two-channel ABS as standard, along with a double front-disc brake system. BMW listed Automatic Stability Control (ASC) and Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) as factory options, not standard equipment on every bike. Confirm a motorcycle’s actual configuration, since equipment can vary by market and individual build.

What changed for the 2013 model?
BMW’s model announcement describes the F700GS as an update to the F650GS, with increased output and torque, standard ABS, twin front discs and optional ASC and ESA. It also notes revised bodywork and paint choices. The announcement gives the same headline output and torque as BMW’s March 2013 specification sheet; it does not establish independent road-test comparisons.
Where can I find the 2013 F700GS owner’s manual?
BMW Motorrad provides F700GS rider’s manuals through its official manual system. The manual index identifies the F700GS as K70 and includes editions for different production periods, including one for motorcycles produced from August 2013 onward. Select the manual for the bike’s market and production details rather than assuming one edition covers every 2013 motorcycle. BMW says its owner handbook covers operation, maintenance and care.

A community search result also points to a Haynes repair manual covering F700GS model years 2012–2016, which includes 2013, but its current edition, listing and availability are not established here. Check the exact model-year fit and edition before buying a workshop book.
What recalls affect a 2013 BMW F700GS?
Side-stand-switch fastener
BMW’s July 2013 US service bulletin describes campaign 13V-279 for specified F700GS variants. The side-stand-switch fastener might not remain secure; if the switch loosens and is damaged, the engine might not shut down when a gear is engaged while the side stand is extended. The bulletin directs dealers to check their systems by VIN to determine whether a motorcycle is affected.

Dealer accessory windscreen
A separate BMW notice issued in 2018 covers certain dealer accessory windscreens installed on model-year 2012–2018 F700GS motorcycles. It applies to relevant accessory installations and VINs; it is not evidence of a blanket issue with every factory or stock windscreen.
For either campaign, check the motorcycle’s VIN using NHTSA’s recall lookup and confirm the result with BMW or an authorized dealer. A model-year search or historical campaign document cannot show whether a specific bike was included or whether a repair was completed.
