The name is used for a particular F4 configuration from the 2008 era. MV Agusta’s owner’s manual covers the F4 1078 RR 312 as well as the F4 1000 R 312 family, while the parts catalogue is specifically labeled for the 2008–2009 F4 312RR 1078. Those documents do not make every F4 312 part interchangeable. Before using a specification or ordering a part, confirm the exact model designation, market, VIN, and whether the motorcycle has been modified.
The manual’s English introduction is signed by MV Agusta chairman Claudio Castiglioni: “We wish to thank you for your preference and congratulate you on purchasing your new F4 312.” The manual is dated November 2007, edition 1, and identifies MV Agusta S.p.A. as publisher. Is the F4 RR 312 road legal, and can it be used on track?
MV Agusta’s manual describes the motorcycle as designed for road or highway use. It allows occasional track use only when it is noncompetitive, and calls for checks by an authorized service center before and after track riding because a circuit places higher stresses on the motorcycle. That is not a blanket approval for racing or repeated track use.

The manual also warns that some accessories can invalidate homologation for public roads. A motorcycle’s road-use status can therefore depend on its equipment and local requirements; check the specific bike and jurisdiction rather than assuming that every modified example remains road legal.
Which version do you have, and what are its load limits?
The single-seat RR 312 and the 1+1 version have different passenger and load provisions. The figures below are maximums stated in MV Agusta’s 2007 owner’s manual, not independent measurements. Match the manual specification to the exact motorcycle before carrying a passenger or cargo.

These are version-specific manual limits. Do not apply the 1+1 figures to the single-seat motorcycle, or infer a bike’s configuration from appearance alone if it may have been altered.
What should you check before buying a used example?
The available documentation supports a practical verification process, but does not establish a general reliability record or a buying verdict for all used F4 RR 312 motorcycles. Assess the individual bike and its paperwork.

- Identify the exact configuration: Match the model and seat arrangement to its documentation, VIN, and market. This matters for load provisions and parts fitment.
- Ask for service records: The owner’s manual recommends scheduled maintenance and skilled personnel at an authorized MV Agusta service center. If work was done elsewhere, establish that the workshop had the necessary skills and specific tools.
- Review track use and modifications: Ask about track use, service checks around track sessions, and changes to the motorcycle. - Rear paddock stand: The catalogue lists a rear stand, but does not prove that a generic stand will work. Verify the bike’s lift points and stand fitment.
