Gemballa says it added the MP4-12C to its portfolio in 2012; its documented GT Coupé centers on carbon-fibre aerodynamic parts and lightweight forged wheels. The company lists 625 hp, 600 Nm, 0–62 mph in 3.1 seconds and a maximum speed above 207 mph as package specifications, not independent test results or verified figures for every converted car.
What is the Gemballa GT version of the McLaren MP4-12C?
It is Gemballa’s interpretation of the McLaren 12C, also known as the MP4-12C. Gemballa’s company history says it announced the McLaren’s addition to its portfolio in 2012. The company’s current product page calls the car the “GEMBALLA GT COUPÉ.”
The name can cause confusion: Gemballa describes the Coupé and a separate GT Spider interpretation. Its company page identifies the Spider in 2013. Body-style details for that version should not be assumed to apply to the Coupé.
What did Gemballa change?
Carbon-fibre exterior parts
Gemballa describes an all-carbon-fibre GT aerodynamic package. The listed components include a redesigned front bumper and spoiler with larger intakes, side skirts, and a revised rear panel that ties bespoke exhaust outlets to an under-body diffuser.

Forged wheels
The documented GForged-one wheel setup uses 8.5J x 20-inch wheels at the front and 11.0J x 21-inch wheels at the rear. Gemballa says these are an inch larger than the originals and highlights their low unsprung weight as part of the package’s design rationale. Those dimensions are not a substitute-fitment recommendation: check the requirements for the specific car before sourcing wheels.
Powertrain and Gemballa’s rationale
Gemballa says the GT Coupé retains the stock seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. McLaren’s period 2012 MP4-12C technical specification also identifies a seven-speed McLaren dual-clutch Seamless-Shift transmission.

Gemballa says it did not consider a power upgrade necessary after development work on the wheels and aerodynamic parts: “After extensive testing with GEMBALLA’s lightweight forged wheels and aero parts, it was deemed that as the 12C’s resulting overall balance was so sweet, no power upgrade was necessary.” This is the company’s explanation of its approach, not an independent assessment.
