In UK factory specifications it produces 165 HP (120 kW) and 250 Nm, with a six-speed manual gearbox; Abarth quoted 0–62 mph in 7.9 seconds. It evolved the Abarth Grande Punto, but uses the Fiat Punto Evo as its base.
What is the 2010 Abarth Punto Evo?
Abarth presented the Punto Evo as the next step after the Abarth Grande Punto. The German launch material described it as a three-door compact sports car. Its 1.4-litre engine was Abarth’s first MultiAir-powered model: an electrohydraulic system controls the intake valves. Abarth’s UK press pack dates to 15 July 2010; the German launch announcement was published on 17 June 2010.
Engine, gearbox and factory performance
The UK technical figures specify a 1,368 cc, four-cylinder, 16-valve petrol engine with a fixed-geometry Garrett GT1446 turbocharger. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and Start&Stop.
| Specification | Factory figure | Source context |
|---|---|---|
| Power | 165 HP (120 kW) at 5,500 rpm | Abarth UK press pack, 2010 |
| Torque | 250 Nm at 2,250 rpm | Abarth UK press pack, 2010 |
| 0–62 mph | 7.9 seconds | Abarth UK manufacturer claim, 2010 |
| 0–100 km/h | 7.9 seconds | Abarth Germany manufacturer claim, 2010 |
| Maximum speed | 213 km/h | Abarth Germany manufacturer claim, 2010 |
These acceleration and top-speed figures are Abarth’s published claims, not independent road-test results. The German release lists output as 120 kW (163 PS), while the UK source says 165 HP and Abarth Japan’s archived page uses 163 ps. These are different unit conventions for the stated 120 kW output, not evidence of a separate tune.

Driving modes and chassis equipment
A switch beside the gear lever selects Normal or Sport. Abarth said Sport sharpens accelerator and steering response. Other factory-described features include a digital Gear Shift Indicator, race-tuned suspension, 17-inch alloy wheels, twin tailpipes, a rear spoiler and side skirts.
The technical sheet lists Brembo M4X40 front calipers, ventilated 305 × 28 mm front discs, 264 × 11 mm rear discs, ABS, ESP and Torque Transfer Control (TTC). Tyres, brakes and checking a specific car
The factory technical specification lists 215/45 R17 tyres. Treat that as the factory reference, not automatic confirmation of what is fitted to every surviving car: wheels or brakes may have been changed. Check the tyre placard and verify parts fitment by VIN and installed configuration before ordering.
Fiat’s English Punto Evo owner handbook, first edition July 2010, covers the Punto Evo family and includes maintenance, tyre and technical information. It should not be assumed to be an Abarth-specific handbook without checking the edition.

Standard Punto Evo versus the esseesse kit
Abarth France’s 2010 Paris Motor Show announcement described an esseesse upgrade planned for dealer installation from December 2010. It announced 180 ch and 270 Nm in Sport mode. The figures and timing describe a historical announcement; they do not establish present-day kit availability or prove that a particular used car has the upgrade.
| Configuration | Power | Torque | Fitment evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Punto Evo | 165 HP (120 kW), Abarth UK figure | 250 Nm | Factory specification |
| Announced esseesse upgrade | 180 ch, Abarth France figure | 270 Nm in Sport mode | 2010 announcement described planned dealer installation; verify an individual car’s provenance |
The announcement also gave a French launch price of €19,400 for the standard car in 2010. That is a historical new-car price, not a current used-car valuation.

Fuel consumption and emissions depend on the source market
There is no single figure to treat as a universal real-world result. Abarth UK reported 47.1 mpg combined and 142 g/km CO₂ in 2010. A Swiss/French technical sheet listed 6.0 l/100 km combined and 142 g/km CO₂. These are market- and source-specific published figures; neither establishes what a particular car will achieve in everyday driving.
What factory specifications do not tell you
Factory-era material identifies the model and its original claimed specifications, but it does not establish the condition, service history or modifications of an individual car. It also does not provide a verified reliability rate, current used-car prices, current parts stock, recall status or current availability of the esseesse kit. Check vehicle-specific records and current sources for those questions.
