What maintenance does a TU250X need?
Oil changes are only one part of scheduled maintenance. The service manual’s maintenance items include:
- Engine oil and filter service
- Air cleaner inspection and cleaning
- Valve-clearance checks
- Spark plug service
- Drive-chain service
- Brake, steering and tire checks
Use the complete 2009-model schedule for intervals and procedures. The manual says dusty conditions call for more frequent air-cleaner cleaning; do not rely on the standard schedule alone in that environment.

How to identify your motorcycle before ordering parts
Record the motorcycle’s identifiers before searching a parts catalog. The 2009 service manual locates the VIN on the right side of the steering head pipe and the engine serial number on the left side of the crankcase.
Model-specific fiches can help locate parts by system, including engine, electrical, fuel and air, controls and brakes, wheels, and suspension. Which specifications apply to the 2009 model?
Use the 2009 service manual’s specification section for year-specific technical values. Suzuki’s published 2016 TU250X specification sheet describes that model year as having a 249 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, fuel injection, a five-speed transmission, chain final drive, tube-type tires and a 30.3-inch seat height. Those are 2016 specifications and should not be treated as confirmed 2009 specifications.

Do Suzuki TU250X accessories fit a 2009?
