What fuel does the 2010 Legacy GT take?
Subaru specifies 93-octane premium unleaded for the 2.5GT. The brochure’s 18 city/25 highway mpg figures are factory-published figures, not a prediction for an older car today; actual economy varies with condition, maintenance, driving and other factors.
Oil-change interval and scheduled maintenance
Subaru’s 2010 warranty and maintenance booklet says all turbocharged vehicles are considered to be operated under severe driving conditions. For turbo models, it specifies engine oil and filter replacement every 3 3/4 months or 3,750 miles (6,000 km), whichever comes first. The time interval matters even if the car covers relatively few miles. Consult the booklet for the complete schedule and its notes rather than inferring intervals for other services. Subaru’s 2010 Warranty and Maintenance Booklet also includes spark-plug replacement for turbo models and inspection or service categories such as the air cleaner, coolant system, fuel lines, transmission and differential lubricants, brakes, steering, suspension, tires and clutch operation.

If checking fluid quantities for a service, confirm them in the correct market-specific owner’s manual before filling. A third-party viewer reproducing a manual page gives 4.2 US qt (4.0 L) of engine oil for 2.5-liter models and 6.9 US qt (6.5 L) of coolant for 2.5-liter turbo models, but that reproduction is less authoritative than the applicable manual and does not replace checking the level and procedure specified for the car. The reproduced manual page is a secondary reference.
Used-car checks: records, condition and recalls
Specifications alone cannot establish whether a particular 2010 Legacy GT has been maintained well or has an open recall. Before buying, check the actual car rather than relying on model-level information.

- Review dated service records. Compare oil and filter service dates and mileage with Subaru’s turbo-model schedule. If records are incomplete, treat maintenance history as unknown rather than assuming it was done.
- Arrange a qualified inspection. A Subaru-capable technician can assess the individual vehicle; the factory specifications do not establish its present mechanical condition.
