Use these historical specifications as a reference, not as a substitute for the motorcycle’s frame label and the owner’s manual for its market. Check the actual installed tire specifications and condition before riding; do not adjust pressure by guesswork.

Which manual or parts catalog should you use?
For repairs and maintenance
Use a service manual for repair procedures, service intervals and adjustment instructions. Harley-Davidson’s owner’s manual says: “Visit any Harley-Davidson dealer or go to www.harley-davidson.com to purchase a service or parts manual for your motorcycle.” A retailer lists a Clymer service manual covering 2006–2010 Softail models; check the current edition and listing to confirm it explicitly covers the 2009 FLSTF and your market.
For identifying parts
The 2009 Softail parts catalog identifies model code BX as the FLSTF Fat Boy and is intended to help with parts ordering.
